Thanks for answering my question. Have been watching since late 2022 when i started to get more interested in Hockey. There is very little coverage of hockey in New Zealand so you and a few other channels help me keep up with it.
How I got into Hockey is that my aunt went to the states in 2015 and brought back La Kings cards (which I've sadly lost). Therefore my team is the Kings (had zero clue about the cups the team had won at the time). I followed the team a little bit in 2016/17 but I started following the team (and the league) more at the start of 22/23.
I'm still learning about hockey as I follow multiple sports (In North America, Europe and Australia/New Zealand) but I'm looking forward to the stanley cup final and will watch games if I have time. I'm hoping Florida takes it for obvious reasons, can't stand the Oilers after seeing them knock the Kings out again.
(Finally, I know this is very long lol but you did pronounce my name in the vid wrong. It's ok though because it's not a common name.)

That's good news for the Sharks, because these two kids (Celebrini & Smith) have the potential to save the franchise!
It's way way too early to compare them to the Crosby-Malkin duo.
However, right now there is no reason to believe that they can't be the next Thornton and Marleau.
The following is a super-mega-crazy scenario that has 1 in a trillion chance to happen.
Imagine the San Jose Sharks becoming SC champions by winning their first Stanley Cup exactly 40 years after the debut of their franchise in the NHL (1991-92>>>>>2031-32).
In the 1st-rd, the Sharks win in 6 games but all 6 games are tight games that go to OT vs Anaheim Ducks.
As the LA Kings and Vegas Golden Knights took a drop around 2028, Anaheim became San Jose's biggest rival.
The Sharks and the Ducks are both in their 3rd consecutive playoffs, and 2nd against each other, though this time SJ wins.
Meanwhile in the western conference (2032)...,
with the help of 34-35yo Connor McDavid, the Edmonton Oilers (2030 champs vs BUF) gets through to the 2nd-rd with a 4-3 series win vs Vancouver Canucks (2026 champs vs NJ),
the Presidents Trophy Chicago Black Hawks (2031 champs vs DET) gets through to the 2nd-rd with a 4-2 series win vs Colorado Avalanche (2029 champs vs CAR),
and in a big upset the Utah Yetis gets through to the 2nd-rd with a 4-1 series win vs Dallas Stars.
Moreover 2030, Jake Eichel was unhappy in Vegas because they were at the bottom of the standings, so he was traded back to Buffalo on the 2029-30 trade deadline. The Sabres made the SC final and were hoping to win their 1st SC to end the drought at 59 in 2030, but Edmonton were still very dominant and 32-33yo veteran McDavid got in the way and got his 2nd SC.
The Oilers lost to the Panthers in 2024 in 6, but came back the next year (2025) and won in 5 vs NYR.
As mentioned above, the Canucks won in 2026 vs the Devils who in turn had beat the Leafs in the eastern conference final.
The Canucks brought back the SC home to Canada for the 1st time since 1993.
The Leafs returned strong in 2027 and beat Detroit, Montreal, and then Boston in the eastern conference final before winning their first SC since 1967 vs Nashville who were on their last go and came short like last time (2017).
PIT and WAS had top 3 picks at the 2027 draft and picked up future superstars.
Season 2027-28; lots of older teams took a nose dive such as Vegas, Los Angeles, Nashville, Winnipeg and Tampa Bay.
The Devils kept improving over the years and finally won the SC in 2028 vs Seattle Kraken who had a Cinderella run.
The Avs won their 2nd SC of the decade in 2029, this time vs Carolina Hurricanes, and McKinnon won the Conn Smythe.
As stated above, the Oilers won in 2030 vs Buffalo Sabres.
2031, the Black Hawks beat the champs (Oilers) in the western conference in 7, then beat Detroit Red Wings in the SC final in 6.
    FINALLY back to 2032!
    2nd-rd in the western conference.
Chicago got a scare from Utah but ultimately won in 7.
San Jose shocked everyone by taking down Edmonton in 5.
3rd-rd, western conference final, San Jose beats the SC champs Presidents trophy winners Chicago in 6.
San Jose advanced to the SC final.
    Meanwhile in the eastern conference...
    1st-rd..
Montreal won in 7 vs Boston.
Ottawa won in 7 vs Toronto.
New Jersey won in 6 vs NYR.
Detroit won in 5 vs Buffalo.
    2nd-rd..
Ottawa won in 6 vs Montreal.
New Jersey won in 5 vs Detroit
3rd-rd, eastern conference final, Ottawa beat New Jersey in 7.
Ottawa advanced to the SC final for the first time since 2007.
ET VOILA, here is your 1 in a trillion scenario of a 2032 SC final!
San Jose Sharks who came in the league in 91-92 vs Ottawa Senators who came in the league in 92-93.
Of course San Jose won that series in 7 at home in overtime. Celebrini and Smith both got a point on the OTW.
From 2024 to 2032, there was 2 expansions.
First, in 2026-27, the NHL added Houston in the western conference and Hamilton in the eastern conference.
Houston instantly became the rivals of the Stars, and Hamilton the rivals of the Leafs.
Later during the 2029-30 season, Phoenix managed to get everything fixed before the delay to be eligible to take their priority spot for an expansion in 2030-31.
The league looked at Quebec, Hartford and Atlanta to fill the spot for an eastern conference team.
To the shock of fans all over the world, the NHL chose Quebec.
Thus in 2030-2031, Quebec and Phoenix were added.

Most likely Oilers in 6. But I do feel they could sweep them out if Skinner stays hot.
I'm not sure why so many people are picking florida. They're not playing a one line team anymore. This Oilers team has put 14 different forwards out and 7 different defenseman. Tampa, Boston and New York all had next to no depth. Not to mention Leon and McDavid are far more talented than anyone on Florida's roster.

  • @leviklynstra8975

I honestly wouldnt find it too hard to believe if tampa missed the playoffs next year. I know theyre most likely gonna keep stammer, kuch, vasi, and point, but they werent too far ahead of washington and it really feels to me like the torch has been passed to the florida panthers. As for who could make the playoffs next year who didnt this year, i would say New Jersey could have a bounce back year, plus detroit could get in as well, given how close they were this year

What are you talking about? The Wings keeping Howard as their starter for so many years was a huge mistake. The Wings threw tons of money at him, had much better goalies on the bench, that wound up being traded. Howard was terrible and never should have been anything but a backup. I'm a Blackhawks fan, and was always shocked they kept him around. I'm speculating, but it's probably part of the reason Zets and Dats walked away. No matter how good their offense was, Howard couldn't stop a beachball.

yes Wyatt Johntson is younger and better right now but I think what Lafrenière just did in the playoffs is very exciting considering his ceiling. Laffy was seen as perhaps a generational talent before he was drafted and in the playoffs this year he finally showed flashes of the Lafreniere we saw in the QMJHL and the World Juniors. Some players take much longer to develop. He might now reach his ceiling of being the best winger in the league but what if he does?
