I think the issue is their budget as well. If they would be given a higher budget, their minifigures would look better. Just compare Harry Potter minifigs from 2018 to now. The success of the theme has resulted in a higher budget dedicated to the sets’ production
I actually like the new tumbler except for the rubber cape and helmet with lack of leg printing, I agree the superhero team should have more people because most of these sets are repeats with less creativity. I miss when superhero sets had exclusive minifigs and actual creative builds like the bridge battle set from 2016 for instance or Jokerland from 2015 like there’s barely any effort nowadays. Mostly we just keep getting mechs, cars for characters that don’t even need them and minifigs that we’ve already had like how many more Venom sets do we need for crying out loud

And that’s not the only reason, the quinjet is bad, Gi-Ant man is bad, none of the characters getting arm printing except for Spider-Man, the list goes on and on for how bad this set of compared to the old one. If they combined this set with the old one keeping the old quinjet, old Gi-Ant Man, and gave us the arm printing that the characters deserve in a ONE HUNDRED dollar set, then it would be worth it. Making this set $100 for all that it is lacking is deplorable.

Note: Spider Man is lacking the leg and feet printing found in the sanctum sanctorum. The 2016 and 2017 versions of the minifigure did contain some leg printing for the lining on his boots.
Honestly it felt like they had a bunch of unsold buildable Ant-man sets and reused it for this one. I honestly don’t like it, at least the original airport had that brick built ant-man that looked more like a minifig (my preference), & oh dear god that is the worst built wings I’ve ever seen. Also would it kill Lego to make that neck attachment piece (on falcon) in different colors? Grey, black and green. No cloth pieces for Wanda. And this setting is soooo not good. Especially since at least with the original we got both Giant man & an Ant-man microfig. I also understand the need to downsize vehicles, however I’m not a fan of vehicle builds where the minifig has to lay down to sit in the cock pit. If I’m being honest this reminds me of a set that came out, it was a Spider-man set with rhino & Sandman on a construction set where the figs where great but the build was very bad, except that had better minifigs. I’m sorry but if I were Lego this set never would’ve been approved, especially for that price.

This Jan wave features many travesties amongst the Superheroes line that I'm just stunned made it through to release. But someone must be buying these.
I’m fine with the reuse of the leg printing throughout this set, I think it is better than plain black legs. And considering the new print budget they get I think it was a smart decision to help add more detail
im just gonna wait for resellers to buy the bucky fig, that fig works great as a custom, just swap the arm for the 2016 version, add a bandit mouth cover to it and it's a perfect 2014 the winter soldier figure
I'm at least glad that we got a new mark 46 Ironman. Because the last time we got him, they just reused the helmet and legs from Mark 43. So it looks a lot better, but the set is so underwhelming that it doesn't do much to save the set itself.

Let's be real, the worst thing about this set is how the designers butchered giant ant man. They originally made him as a giant minifigure build, which was really cool and creative, but is now just another buildable character. Seriously Lego, stop making these buildable characters and instead make actual giant minifigure sets similar to the original giant antman.

Even though Big Figs aren't that much like standard LEGO minifigs either, at least they have the LEGO shaped heads. The giant Ant-Man buildable figure though... I dunno, it's not terrible, but it still feels kinda out of place, since it's supposed to be the large version of the minifig version and just doesn't quite fit. Not helped that we already know that LEGO made a giant Ant-Man that looked like a huge LEGO minifig, so this one feels inferior by comparison.

I don't understand the hate honestly! This set has 9 great minifigures, most of them versions we haven't seen since 2016. Yes a lot of them lack leg printing and shit like that, but that can easily be customised with other figures you may own. The big ant man here is actually amazing, although I loved the older version I actually really love these new buildable figures a lot. Now the main build itself is not the greatest, it kind of reminds me of the Kenobi set that came out in 2022 with almost nothing on the build itself. but just a reminder the airport scene didn't have a lot of stuff surrounding the characters. The set focuses on the figures and giant man as it should. Actually the only thing that really ruins the set for me is the quinjet since we didn't need another one of that. If they had made the quinjet into a separate set making it bigger and giving us figures like Zemo, Vision and maybe War Machine as well would be amazing. My hope is that they make this airport set into a new civil war wave. maybe give us this set and also a quinjet set, maybe a final fight set, and maybe even a highway chase set with Bucky, black panther, cap, Rhodes, and some swat agents with a simple black truck as a side build. That is just my thought tho

I completely agree with your review. Downgrade on all sides, from the weird antman to the lack of airport build to the downgraded minifigs for 100 dollars is ridiculous.😅😊
This has to be one of the most pathetic excuses for a set. It's overpriced, there's no actual buildings included, just a glorified baseplate, the giant man is a MASSIVE downgrade and not even the minifigure collectors are happy. Ughh
First mini dolls, then mechs, then ridiculous vehicles now these ass buildable figures. You'd think that a 100 year old company would know better its consumer base but what do I know right?...

Lego marvel has been garbage for a year at least I’m super bummed I enjoyed the film sub theme but I haven’t bought any sets since 2023

This is the laziest marvel set I ever seen
I don't understand the hate honestly! This set has 9 great minifigures, most of them versions we haven't seen since 2016. Yes a lot of them lack leg printing and shit like that, but that can easily be customised with other figures you may own. The big ant man here is actually amazing, although I loved the older version I actually really love these new buildable figures a lot. Now the main build itself is not the greatest, it kind of reminds me of the Kenobi set that came out in 2022 with almost nothing on the build itself. but just a reminder the airport scene didn't have a lot of stuff surrounding the characters. The set focuses on the figures and giant man as it should. Actually the only thing that really ruins the set for me is the quinjet since we didn't need another one of that. If they had made the quinjet into a separate set making it bigger and giving us figures like Zemo, Vision and maybe War Machine as well would be amazing. My hope is that they make this airport set into a new civil war wave. maybe give us this set and also a quinjet set, maybe a final fight set, and maybe even a highway chase set with Bucky, black panther, cap, Rhodes, and some swat agents with a simple black truck as a side build. That is just my thought tho

this set is trash 😂😂😂 i guess antman only has humanoid proportions when he’s giant???? ok??? not like he should be a giant lego minifigure or anything! also, this is not even the same spidey as the sanctum set because THAT one had LEG PRINTING! imagine leg printing in a $100 set!!!! 🤩that quinjet is also one of the most embarrassing builds i’ve seen in a non 4+ set😂 wasted plastic
