Hey, I'd like to buy/use Nano Teleprompter. But I need to know: since I de-googled my phone, there is no acutal Play Store nor Google Framework on my phone. Just microG and some kind of "fake Google store". Most apps work flawlessly, but some buy-apps are not working - they keep contacting Google servers in order to be sure, that one is using a legal copy. Can you tell me, if Nano Teleprompter will work on my phone? Thank you so much and best regards, Patrick

Just bought the Nano app 40 minutes ago - I've recorded 2 videos on my phone using it - and I love it! The cost has gone up to a budget-busting $4.99 (LOL) and so far, it's worth every penny. I've used another teleprompter - one that I could only use online as a separate screen - so I needed a computer and my phone to create vids on my phone - I can see myself using Nano for my computer-camera video recordings as well now :) Thanks for sharing.

I just ordered a telepromptor for 20 bucks from lazada. Excited! It get super exhausting to remeber like a 3000 word script and read it directly into the camera.

Thanks Justin! I'm a previous student of your course. I currently use Promptsmart Pro with my DSLR/Teleprompter set up, but something that drives me nuts is how the text jerks instead of scrolls smoothly. This jerking motion trips me up causing me to do many retakes. The app can also stop scrolling for unexplainable reasons. So it's very buggy for me. I'll check out Nano teleprompter to see if that fixes these issues.
Hi Justin how are you operating the text it appears you are using a remote of some sort. Can you advise what you are using as I don't want to touch the screen itself. E.g to speed up text. Are you using a remote to do that?

Great video! I already have a teleprompter I use with a Canon Rebel T7i and a Microsoft Surface tablet for work. I'm currently looking for an alternative to the Surface and I know Kindle Fire's are pretty cheap. Would Nano Pro work on a Kindle Fire and can I use a remote, such as the Parrot Padcaster Remote, to operate it? Sorry for asking such a specific question but any insight into this would be very helpful. Thanks!

I was looking closely at the Nano apps yesterday. There is a remote app ($1.99!!!!) that loads on a second Android phone and connects via the same network or hotspot. The remote app can control a lot of the functions on the phone with the Nano Teleprompter app. I can't say ALL because I don't know for sure but it looked like most anything you want to control can be done from the remote, even loading a text file. I don't understand your mention of "using the first phone on a teleprompter with my added computer webcam", not sure what you are seeking to do there...

When using this, you get the interference pattern you can often hear on nearby speakers when a phone is communicating.... the dah-dah-dah pattern repeats 3 times normally, however sometimes it goes on for minutes. I have wifi and data both off on the phone. I have tried another phone. I don't see how this can work with the parrot type device, unless you are recording to a far placed field mic. Have you found a way to solve this problem?

You would need to purchase an adapter in order to use the Parrot teleprompter with a RX100 II. The Parrot system mounts on cameras that have a threaded lens. The RX100 II does not have a threaded lens, but there are adapters that will work. You can try the Sony filter adapter made specifically for the RX100 II (Sony VFA-49R1 Filter Adapter www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/984421-REG/sony_vfa_49r1_49mm_filter_adapter.html). There are also other aftermarket lens/filter adapters available for the RX100 II.

Thanks for the review! Nano prompter is total garbage for mirrored teleprompter. It's import is broken for most of the file types and it doesn't import any text formatting like color or bold. It also has most horrible GUI I've ever seen. Everyone in our crew wants to smash tablet on the wall after trying to get this app working :) But on the other hand Prompter Smart Pro is amazing. I just installed it and it took me about 2 minutes to go thru all the settings and import doc from Gdrive without loosing any of it's formatting. I think it's absolutely worth $20-30 per year for any pro user. I have no affiliation with them btw.

Hello Justin, I have the paid version of the Oratory Teleprompter app. I can do everything until the start of the text playback. Unfortunately, the document cannot be played after pressing the start button.
some teleprompter come as a bundle with a remote control included. Maybe Ikan Elite remote (expensive), Airturn digit III or Parrot remote works for you?
Hey Justin, excellent presentation as always! Question: Instead of using my iPhone for livestream, I’d like to switch to my iPad mini for use of the teleprompter. My concern is reading the text on my phone and looking natural. Is iPad mini a good idea and if so, do you have or can you make a video on setting up an iPad mini for live streaming? It cannot fit in the same brackets you would use for your phone, so what would you suggest? Thank you!
I used it with that lens for a lot of videos, you will have to zoom in a little as at 18 it'll show some of the teleprompter. You could check out the DesView T3 which should be ok at 18mm with that lens
Is there a limit on the number of characters you can fit into one script. For example, does a 70 page word doc fit in the app or do you have to break it up? Thank you!
Just tried Nano Teleprompter on my Galaxy S9 Android. It was a fail. It was $3.99 plus a few hours of my time. I made the box as small as possible right next to the camera, and my eye contact looked off. The phone was about 3.5' from my face which is about as far away as I could get and still read the text.

I had an idea to use an teleprompter app for something else. I want to record a video of a sliding text in front of an image. Like the text from a page from a book in front of a book cover image. Can this be done with one of these apps?
Thanks for the great video Justin. Quick question, with the voice track feature on the promptsmart pro app how far can the device pick up your voice from? Would 6 feet be a stretch? Or does it pick from 6 feet away?

Thanks for doing the research and saving me a ton of time. I have been already using Teleprompter apps, but picked one randomly based on popularity, and I can tell you it's not the most efficient one. Will certainly look into both of these. 👏🍻

Thanks for the review! Nano prompter is total garbage for mirrored teleprompter. It's import is broken for most of the file types and it doesn't import any text formatting like color or bold. It also has most horrible GUI I've ever seen. Everyone in our crew wants to smash tablet on the wall after trying to get this app working :) But on the other hand Prompter Smart Pro is amazing. I just installed it and it took me about 2 minutes to go thru all the settings and import doc from Gdrive without loosing any of it's formatting. I think it's absolutely worth $20-30 per year for any pro user. I have no affiliation with them btw.

Hi, i just used nano teleprompter but i got a trouble, if im using microphone in my phone while using nano teleprompter, my voice doesnt appear in my video but if i didnt use it, its everything good. Any suggest? Thank you.

I can do everything until the start of the text playback. Unfortunately, the document cannot be played after pressing the start button.

How about something with a handheld remote control so you can pause or speed up the scroll? Do you know of any such product?
some teleprompter come as a bundle with a remote control included. Maybe Ikan Elite remote (expensive), Airturn digit III or Parrot remote works for you?
Hey Justin, excellent presentation as always! Question: Instead of using my iPhone for livestream, I’d like to switch to my iPad mini for use of the teleprompter. My concern is reading the text on my phone and looking natural. Is iPad mini a good idea and if so, do you have or can you make a video on setting up an iPad mini for live streaming? It cannot fit in the same brackets you would use for your phone, so what would you suggest? Thank you!

do you know if the parrot teleprompter v2 compatible with a sigma 18-35mm sigma lens?
I used it with that lens for a lot of videos, you will have to zoom in a little as at 18 it'll show some of the teleprompter. You could check out the DesView T3 which should be ok at 18mm with that lens

Is there a limit on the number of characters you can fit into one script. For example, does a 70 page word doc fit in the app or do you have to break it up? Thank you!

I had problems with Parrot Teleprompter weight/mobile phone mucking up autofocus on my camera. Vendor Support was crap.
Just tried Nano Teleprompter on my Galaxy S9 Android. It was a fail. It was $3.99 plus a few hours of my time. I made the box as small as possible right next to the camera, and my eye contact looked off. The phone was about 3.5' from my face which is about as far away as I could get and still read the text.
