- How could I hate 5 things about my overland built Toyota Tacoma? Well the more you modify the more things to need be modified. I still love my truck but that doesn’t mean things can’t be improved.
Current parts list:
TRD Pro Grill and Raptor lights from Runnin 4 Tacos
Heretic Studios Quattro Fog lights
Ambull 3/4 shackle kit from Amazon
Teraflex Falcon 1.5” kit with adjustable rear
Icon Vehicle Dynamics 1.5” Progressive AAL
Torque 2407 Air bag kit with Daystar cradle
Yokohama Geolandar MT G003 35x12.5x17
Fuel Rebel 17”x9” -12mm
1.25” wheel spacers
Prinsu Design roof rack and shell rack
ARE V Truck Shell
Cali Raised LED 40” light bar
ICECO VL 45 fridge and slide
Midland X-Talker handheld radios
CVT Mt. Shasta tent
OVS 270 awning
Pop&Lock Tacoma Tail Gate Kit
Rhino USA Tool Roll, Soft shackles and Tow Straps
Great overview and awesome Rig!!
I run a used fiber glass snug top on my 02' Tundra, but I am considering switching over to an aluminum setup w/ side door access, for my overland setup plus weight reduction.
Check out Marlin Crawler they have a new HD Lower control arm frame brace. It’s supposed to take care of the bent alignment tabs.
Nice rig.
I had a two inch lift done before I got my cvt mt hood. With my camping load I definitely have some sag at the rear. Wish I had a 2.5 in the rear to even it out under load
Look into the Torque 2407 airbag kit on Amazon. Very easy to install and perfect for leveling out the truck when loaded up but you can completely deflate them to. Couple it with the Daystar Air Bag Cradles and you would be super happy. Been running mine for 4 months now and couldn’t be happier
The good out ways the bad I love that truck I would love to know what model cap u have on it I have a 22 TRD pro with 33” and mud flaps with 1.5” lift total 2.5 no rub but 35 look great
It’s an ARE V series
They kinda fixed some
Of that you said with the new Tacoma and tundra. But people are bitching shout the new gens.
Did you happen to do a viper cut on the front bumper. If you did could you show us how it looks on your next video.
I did do the viper cut, and realized I forgot to mention after I uploaded the video! I will be sure to get a clip showing it and explain the process of doing it as it’s very easy 👍🏼👍🏼
Can you provide the details for the green storage bin
Wow mezing
Sounds like you should've got a tundra
If I didn’t go to Moab and other hard core off roading area’s I would have. The Tundra is great for a dedicated camping rig. But far to big for my style of off-roading. There’s no perfect rig but the Tacoma was a better platform overall for what I wanted
@@freedomroamers I totally agree and I am looking at getting into a tacoma in the future. Great video btw. The tundra may have the extra capacity and comfort but the tacoma is way more nimble in tight trails.
What is the next mod?
I love the Tacoma’s exterior but that sardine can interior is a no go.
1:56 what's going on with your cab mount? If you cut that, it needs to be welded back up with a plate or cab mount relocate kit. Having that bolt exposed is not considered a cab mount chop
Well when you modify things yourself there is allot of trial and error and learning.
The cab mount is chopped however the plates I ordered did not fit the way I need them too and basically once the plates were welded on, the tires still rubbed like they did before I cut off them off. I was going to have new plates custom made but now have an appointment to have a full relocate done by a local shop here soon
Nice rig. Toyota should of stuck with the 4.0L.
What tires are those
The Yokohama Geolandar G003 MT 35x12.5x17
I think what I dislike the most about mine is the fuel range.
Try a tundra w 37s
