@Mokel-Live Sorry, I still can't get the Xbox controller to work with Dolphin. Everything is connected. It's like the emulator isn't recognizing it. If I press B, the menu in the top left corner of the window pops up, but there are no game interactions.
@@Erobbo25 Hey! I was unable to replicate your issue, can you see if another controller gives you the same issue? is this an officially branded Xbox controller you are using?
The Meta Quest got an Update and it got moved somewhere else to find it you just Open the Library > Go to the Applications Menu (Second Icon on the Left) > Click All (Dropdown) and Click Unknown Sources There you have your Sideloaded apps AND Dolphin Emulator
The Meta Quest got an Update and it got moved somewhere else to find it you just Open the Library > Go to the Applications Menu (Second Icon on the Left) > Click All (Dropdown) and Click Unknown Sources There you have your Sideloaded apps AND Dolphin Emulator
Is it possible to be able to use your Quest controllers to play games like House of the Dead 2 and 3? They already kind of act like lightguns so I'm curious.
I paired my ps4 controller to my quest and it works, even lets me navigate the dolphin menus with it, but it won’t let me configure the controls and I cant play the actual games. The wireless controller doesn’t show up as an option here, any suggestions? 8:49
The quests chipset is no where near strong enough to run Windows PCVR games natively. I'm sure the OS runs fine, but it's probably impossible to run any PCVR games
some games are able to run at 4k standalone on the q3, also here are some games that work on q3 with a controller using an apk from apkpure to download, fortnite mobile, warzone mobile, among us, minecraft (pojav), driveX (new beamng mobile game), tiktok, theres more but i forgot them
Might i ask what game you are trying to run? and the ROM file ? is it a .ISO or a .NKIT? You cannot change the rom file name extension from wherever you got that rom from (No judgement on how you got it :O) What problems exactly are you having? Is the Quest not running the games smoothly? or is it that Dolphin wont find the games?
@Mokel-Live I used ISO files with no change to the extension. The emulator boots up fine and finds the games without issue. However, when I press on Luigi's Mansion or Mario Sunshine, the game will start to load the sound and picture, then stop. After that, no game will load at all. The menus still work on Dolphin, but nothing happens when I press on the game icons. There is also some overlay text on the game as it begins to boot, if that helps.
@@Erobbo25 hmm, interesting. Did you dump these roms yourself or did you download them? if you downloaded them from the internet, there is the possibility that you downloaded an Illegitimate copy of the games that Contain malware, or some other malicious Files. If you can confirm that your files are Legitimate, Than the only other thing i can think it can be is either you didn't download the latest Dolphin Patch, OR you just have the wrong video backend selected. I just have 4 more questions.. 1. what device are you using? Quest 2, or 3? (Oculus Quest (Quest1) is incompatible) 2. is your Video Backend Set to "OpenGL"? You can find this out by: Opening dolphin, go to settings --> Graphics Settings --> Video Backend 3. What resolutions are you running at? From my experience, the Quest 3 best runs these games on 720P, with some games being able to handle 1080P, anything beyond these resolutions can cause them not to load, or crash entirely. The quest 2's Lesser hardware will only be able to handle 720P at max The reason im starring this one is because, this is actually something i forgot to mention in the making of this video. **4.** do you happen to be trying to play Dolphin while inside the Oculus world (Not passthrough) ? The quests hardware is not capable enough to play while in The virtual Oculus Quest home, you NEED to play with passthrough enabled! let me know if any of this helps, if not, Let me know and i will try to do some research for you ^^
@Mokel-Live Hi thanks for the reply. I check open gl all good. Changed internal resolution to 720p. Luigi mansion booted and got to title screen. But as soon as tried to resize window a tiny bit full on crash, nothing loads. I have the quest 3 in pass through not the quest world view. It looks really good in your video with full resized panel. I might uninstall and start again. Is there no way on Quest 3 to clear cache and restart app manually?
@@Erobbo25 You have to remember that you are running an APK, its not like a windows software where you can increase and decrease the size of the window on the fly, everytime you resize the window, the app needs to restart to run in that new aspect ratio you set it too. Like for example, when you first open dolphin, it opens in a window like a phone, right? When you resize it, to the size of like a tv, it needs to restart the app to adjust its aspect ratio. It starts out in 9: 16, but if you increase the size of the window to a 16:9 aspect ratio, it needs to restart the app to apply that new aspect ratio. So its not "crashing", its restarting to affix to the new aspect ratio.. heres your fix: Start dolphin --> resize the window BEFORE starting a game! once you do this, you cannot resize the window again without it restarting to adjust its aspect ratio. so, set the size you want, and than do not adjust it. I also found, that adjusting the aspect ratio while in game, will cause the app to not work, causing me to need to restart my meta quest. as long as you do not change aspect ratios while in a game, you will not have these issues :) If you go to 2:26 in the video, you can actually see, when i re adjust the window, Dolphin restarted to adjust the aspect ratio ^^ I actually really appreciate your questions, this is making me relize that i should have explained these in the video, when i make my next video like this, i will be sure to go over all potential issues that can/will occur with them! If you need anymore help, feel free to reply here!
