90% of Carrie's songs are not about herself, she just write storys, that is country music, storytelling and alcohol.. lol Another great video is "So Small".
That is why Carrie is so good. I have been to her concerts. Carrie makes sure she credits the writers of the song. A lot of people were surprised that Carrie didn't write her songs. She said why would I pass on a great song, even though I didn't write it.
This song it does involve alcohol but I think it also is talking about wasting your life. Maybe with drugs and alcohol but also by complacency and fear. You don't want to waste what you have, the life you were given.
This was her fourth single from her first album but it still remains one of my all time favorite songs this many years and amazing songs later. Thank you so much for your reaction.

Billy, you would fall in love and would appreciate LeeAnn Womack Ashes by Now (must see original video) Little Past Little Rock Hope You Dance (for you and your daughter) Does My Ring Burn Your Finger
I understand why people say first. I successfully have no life, and was able to click on this video in it's earlier stages of life. Do I feel accomplished? No. Do I want a cookie? Yes!
I think with love even if you separate that person is always going to have a place in your heart and sometimes you just have to face the idea that their place sometimes changes and the type of love you feel for them changes
Yes love does slip away. Miscommunication is one of the main reasons. Love and hate are very strong emotions with Similar characteristics. Before you know it the love you felt can turn ugly.
Carrie says that she sings songs that are not about her real life. There are a few exceptions about marrying her husband, "Mama's Song", Never Knew What I Always Wanted" about hubby and first child and "Our Kingdom" about her life with family. Another about her father. Please check out "Cry Pretty" live at Opry or ACM Awards! It is so much better live!!!!
I don't know about the rest of ya'll but this song pulled me out of some of the roughest times in my life. Thanks for this song, Carrie! Love you girl!😊
So this song is from her first album, and I pretty much know every word. However, I haven’t heard it in quite a while, and listening to it now totally struck me. I’m the girl in this song. The line about pouring raindrops back into a cloud? You’re right, it is deep, and so true. It’s like, you can keep putting them back, but they’re still going to fall again. When you’re in a toxic relationship, you can keep trying to fix it, but that toxic person is never going to change. Good call on that deep lyric.
Lauren Daigle "You say" Tim Mcgraw "Humble and Kind" Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill "Its your love" Celine Dion "Power of Love" Adele "Hello" Adele "Set fire to the rain" Avril Lavigne "Head above water" Avril Lavigne "wish you were here" Kirk Franklin "Stomp" Anointed "The Call" Carmen "America Again" This one is a powerful one too Carmen "The Riot" CeCe Winans "Alabaster Box"
Listen to They Were There by Granger Smith! It’s a tribute to the troops, he also made a documentary by the same name as a tribute to 5 fallen soldiers and their families.
I adore how much you love Carrie. I've been a huge fan of her for several years. I had the pleasure of seeing her live in concert the end of September. It was hands down the best concert I've ever attended. And, as someone else pointed out, the majority of her songs aren't about her life per se. They are simply stories. Another one you should check out is her rendition of John Lennon's We All Shine Down. She performed it in front of a few of our former Presidents. It's truly amazing and shows the sheer power of her voice. th-cam.com/video/e1OhVBPUFMM/w-d-xo.html
Been sober for 11 years. I was drinking crown for breakfast. And I finally hit rock bottom in 2009. Never wanted another drink until recently when my husband got stuck on stupid. But, i haven't broke. Now, I'm working on giving up soda.
The two meanings behind the word wasted is beautifully used in this song... She's wasted her love and life on a man who's spent their relationship wasted..
@@kellyloeffler2881 Something must be getting lost in translation here, cause I clearly stated that the word wasted has two meanings... She's wasted her love and life on a man that spent their relationship wasted(meaning drunk)...
One of my favorite things about this song is that the chorus has two meanings. “I let all these years go by wasted.” Wasted as in wasting time and wasted as in drunk.
Another good couple songs by Chris Young is He's my dad (which Chris wrote for his step dad who he calls dad.) and the other one is it takes a man. (I love all of Chris' songs but those are a couple that are especially good and have a good message to them)
Great reaction Billy.. always love a Carrie Underwood video. Would love to see you react to Tamela Mann, “Take Me To The King”... you’ll like it. 🇺🇸🙏♥️💙🚂🐥🐥🐥
Hi Billy, could you respond to Carrie Underwood 'the bullet'? Unfortunately it doesn't have a music video but it is such an amazing song. Just a heads up; it's also an emotional one :)
If anything is done to break the trust it's over for me. I'm not living with someone I can't trust. You need to react to Charlie Pride kiss an angle morning. He just past and was the first black singer inducted into the country music Hall of fame. Also was my mom's favorite who also recently passed.
Most of her songs aint actually about her life, its mostly portraying a story about a feeling and making that story about a imagined person and ther life. And she do have a wonderful man in her life, if you know who mike fisher is, he is her husband.
I thought that love could last forever. Married for 24 years, I was still pretty, kept myself in shape, devoted Christian, as I thought he was. I trusted him with my very life. We led prayer groups, Bible Studies together. Then one day, he wanted a divorce. I WAS FLOORED. Turns out he had been living a double life for years. Many other women. Our daughter has some special needs, but, was he was gone, he was gone from her also. He cut his only child from his life. Her mental/emotional health are hanging by a thread. And I struggle to put food on the table. I'm not sure we ever know what is in someone else's mind. My ex fooled everyone.
I am a homicide and, suicide survivor. I found my pregnant wife hanging from a skipping rope !!!. So, yes I know what it means to loose everything. And, how it leaves your soul so full of holes. And, your heart with every beat rips another stitch. I been alone since 2009. And, still hurt in ways I never knew a man could.
Most of her songs are just a story. They aren't all about her life in real time. She got married in 2010 and have 2 children with the same man. As far as I know she's never been married prior... maybe had a few bf's but she's a good girl.
90% of Carrie's songs are not about herself, she just write storys, that is country music, storytelling and alcohol.. lol Another great video is "So Small".
So small was the first song of carrie's that she actually wrote and it was amazing
I love that song!
That is why Carrie is so good. I have been to her concerts. Carrie makes sure she credits the writers of the song. A lot of people were surprised that Carrie didn't write her songs. She said why would I pass on a great song, even though I didn't write it.

Love this song! I have this cd and 2 of her other ones. She is my favorite female singer of all time!
This is one of my all-time favorite Carrie songs because of the double meaning of years spent "wasted". Drunk or just thrown away. She's the best.
Carrie Underwood Little Toy Guns
Billy if you listen to “Mama’s Song” by Carrie Underwood it is about her husband. And he’s not abusive or drinking lol 😂
This song reminds me a little bit of Mindy McCready's "Maybe He'll Notice Her Now"

Alcohol is a huge issue, so many get caught up and trapped.
Addiction is no joke especially when its legal and in your face at every turn.
You gotta remember that these are just songs & don’t always have to do with her life personally!!!! ~ Lisa Mac
If you love country music, I suggest listening to Lila McCann. Beautiful voice and amazing songs.
Good on you Billy. I have never drank a day either. Tea or water, but my favorite is Crystal Light or Sobe water.
Not all her song are about her, but love that you care so much

Homesick by Kane Brown is such a good one!!
Answer the call Shanna Jackman
Homesick YES!
The two meanings behind the word wasted is beautifully used in this song...
She's wasted her love and life on a man who's spent their relationship wasted..
There is also a man part, He struggles with drinking and she tells it in her story.

Like and lust can slip away, but real love? No, if it was real love it won’t slip away.
Yes
I love your reactions. :) and yes...love can leave you when resentment and lack of respect seep in.
Billy, that is why Carrie is so good. 90& of her songs have nothing to do with her real life.
You should listen to so small by Carrie Underwood. It’s probably one of my favorite songs by her.
One of my favorite things about this song is that the chorus has two meanings. “I let all these years go by wasted.” Wasted as in wasting time and wasted as in drunk.
Backsliding- Carrie Underwood!
Another good couple songs by Chris Young is He's my dad (which Chris wrote for his step dad who he calls dad.) and the other one is it takes a man. (I love all of Chris' songs but those are a couple that are especially good and have a good message to them)

You should react to Brad Paisley - He didn't have to be. (warning BYSE will probably show up)

To be fair to her ex's, Carrier didn't write much of her earlier songs. I believe Church Bells was one of the first ones she wrote herself.
No, she wrote a song on her first album and a bunch on her second.
Gunpowder and lead next
If you haven't already, do Martina McBride's Independence Day...WOW!!
