I get what your saying because i;m a real born-again child of the king, this is something different , there are so many children abandon by there parents and put into foster homes at a young age and that effects there Character for the rest of there lives but the Good news is God can heal our broken hearts and I'm talking from experience because at age 9 I was taken from my parents and put not in 1 foster home but in 11 different foster homes and it;s so hard to settle down emotionally when you get uprooted so many times as a child but the good news is that God did make a difference in my life because He will never abandon me never ever I love the Lord and My heart goes out to so many children today who are abandon by there parents I feel for them sorry I made a long comment God bless you all and thank you friend for a very good reaction thanks I'm subscribing

I just recently found out that it was his wish to go because he was suffering. I was still just a kid when he passed, so to hear that it was his wish and he is at peace from all that pain and suffering helps me understand why it was his time to go. I just hope and pray that he is happy and watching over us. He passed 10 years ago and I still very much miss him.

I work in foster care as a case planner and let me tell you that children learn faster and are more aware than we think. I had children as young as 3 years old looking me in the eyes telling me they don't want to be with their mom (birth mother) but stay with their Mommy (foster mother) forever and ever. Some who are bend on going back to the abusive home they were rescued from. Children like the second senario are so not used to be treated kindly that they are scared to be happy. And then you have the young adults who spent more than half their lives on the system... some of them will tell you straight up that they don't deserve a future because of the hardship they had to face. Sometimes I go home at night and cry myself to sleep because of the reports & stories I have to live in my career. Working with some of these children who are so damage that not even a life worths of therapy could fix. I also worked with the homeless and domestic violence populations and their stories are nothing you could think of for a hollywood horror. I used to be able to listen to this song a lot in the past but now it holds a different meaning because the people stories here is my reality at work. It's real life for me.... I may not be the one going through it personally but the impact it has on my mental & emotional state says differently.

This was the first time I heard this song since my grandma passed away, I used to love it so much and I’d listen to it a lot, when I was little it was me and my mom going from apartment to apartment to townhome to townhome and eventually house to house, but I didn’t think about how I haven’t heard this song since my grandma passed and I love this song, it reminds me a lot of her before the Alzheimer’s dementia, my little siblings never really got to meet her, they were babies when she got it and my baby brother was born after she passed away.

I was adopted went to different homes me and my brother. They were going to separate us but a wonderful family found us and we were able to stick together. This family adopted 11 kids. I was also there when my real dad passed away so this song hits many emotional areas for me
the part of the song where she is talking about the halfway house... she is assuring her daughter that they won't be going through the struggles forever, she will find a way... so her daughter could feel EXACTLY the way your mom made you feel when you guys were struggling... you were sheltered by your mom's strength and perseverance just like that little girl... So you may not have felt that way but that because your mom, and that little girl's mom made sure you didn't... they were the ones who had to bare that burden silently hoping a break would come along... so when you were homeless your perspective absolutely correct from the little girl's eyes. Mom got this, we are fine, She will protect us. I grew up where my mother had to raise 5 kids (me being the youngest) in a shelter for 6-7 months. So I also know why i never felt that I could not relate to this type of struggle... My mom made sure of it every day as she did for all of my family up until she perished in a house fire 4 years ago in the very house she crawled us all out of the gutter in.

Same. I only ever knew my grandma but she was a sweet woman. My last memory of her is seeing her in a hospital bed in pain and I can't do nothing about it. And just like that she passes away. She was always one of those types that loved talking to people and going out. She would talk for hours for anyone who wanted to listen. She loved her scratch off. That's what she called them. Those things you buy at the gas station you win money off of. In the end she may have annoyed people but she was a sweet woman and I really wished I spent more time with her. I loved my grandma

Even though I want to say, “Maybe you should have spent the time with her when she was here and got it from her.” I don’t say it but I knew by then that time is so precious and I never take for granted that I have time and put spending that time with ppl I love bc they are a little annoying. Don't get to see them graduate or send them off to collage . So many layers, so many trials. However... Somehow, God finds a way to lift you up, and get you through. You can't dwell...thay leads to dark places. Stepping stones... I can relate! I grew up in foster care!! Different family, city and all thank God i made it out! All I been through I had my husband (since I was 12, 17 years strong now) I ran away we got married (12 years in may) he served in the Army 10 years came out as a E6 but got injured in Afghanistan so now medically discharged (honorable discharge) and now we (he came from a shitty life as well) live a beautiful, amazing life! 3 beautiful mixed babies, house built (va loan thank you) and drive nice cars but the best part I made it out of that, so this song hits me hard! We had our house built moved in april 9th my daddy passed (rest easy daddy) may 25th and with everything I've been through or I have been through I promise it gets better

My husband and I were foster parents. We were that temporary home for several kids, until their families got their acts together. All we could do was love them, and pray for them.
Thank you for being available to the children that feel left behind. Whether they realized it at the time, when they get older, they will appreciate what you did for them. Trust me.

I was adopted went to different homes me and my brother. They were going to separate us but a wonderful family found us and we were able to stick together. This family adopted 11 kids. I was also there when my real dad passed away so this song hits many emotional areas for me

the part of the song where she is talking about the halfway house... she is assuring her daughter that they won't be going through the struggles forever, she will find a way... so her daughter could feel EXACTLY the way your mom made you feel when you guys were struggling... you were sheltered by your mom's strength and perseverance just like that little girl...
So you may not have felt that way but that because your mom, and that little girl's mom made sure you didn't... they were the ones who had to bare that burden silently hoping a break would come along... so when you were homeless your perspective absolutely correct from the little girl's eyes. Mom got this, we are fine, She will protect us.
I grew up where my mother had to raise 5 kids (me being the youngest) in a shelter for 6-7 months. So I also know why i never felt that I could not relate to this type of struggle... My mom made sure of it every day as she did for all of my family up until she perished in a house fire 4 years ago in the very house she crawled us all out of the gutter in.
I can never listen to this whole song without getting emotional. The last verse gets me every time bc I have lost all my grandparents. It hurts so bad to know there gone but I know it was their time. I was spoiled by my grandparents. Miss them daily.
Same. I only ever knew my grandma but she was a sweet woman. My last memory of her is seeing her in a hospital bed in pain and I can't do nothing about it. And just like that she passes away. She was always one of those types that loved talking to people and going out. She would talk for hours for anyone who wanted to listen. She loved her scratch off. That's what she called them. Those things you buy at the gas station you win money off of. In the end she may have annoyed people but she was a sweet woman and I really wished I spent more time with her. I loved my grandma
Danny the Mysterious I knew all of mine & I know what you mean. Many of my cousin come to me to give them her dressing recipe for the holidays. Even though I want to say, “Maybe you should have spent the time with her when she was here and got it from her.” I don’t say it but I knew by then that time is so precious and I never take for granted that I have time and put spending that time with ppl I love bc they are a little annoying. I always take ever opportunity possible.

This song always made me feel sad because all those kids in foster homes have no real home to call home . No parents to say I love u or to say everything is going to be ok . Don't get to see them graduate or send them off to collage . It makes me sad to see their sad faces I cry every time I see them and praying for them that God will look out for them and find them the perfect parents for them .
I grew up in a foster home, but I have a different perspective than most. I was adopted as a newborn. It was hard on me, seeing so many kids come and go all the time. I can only imagine how hard it was on them.

As someone that went through the foster system... This song is so relatable. You never feel like you fit in, you know these arent your people, and you wait for them to ship you off. Life is an onion. So many layers, so many trials. However... Somehow, God finds a way to lift you up, and get you through. You can't dwell...thay leads to dark places. Stepping stones... I can relate! I grew up in foster care!! Different family, city and all thank God i made it out! All I been through I had my husband (since I was 12, 17 years strong now) I ran away we got married (12 years in may) he served in the Army 10 years came out as a E6 but got injured in Afghanistan so now medically discharged (honorable discharge) and now we (he came from a shitty life as well) live a beautiful, amazing life! 3 beautiful mixed babies, house built (va loan thank you) and drive nice cars but the best part I made it out of that, so this song hits me hard! We had our house built moved in april 9th my daddy passed (rest easy daddy) may 25th and with everything I've been through or I have been through I promise it gets better
