I went from a 96 Z71 to a 2010 Tundra and the fly-by-wire was a learning curve for me. Now I love it.

Fomoco I think Ford Motor company. I just did one that the part was from on line and locked up in less than a week. Quality counts. Nicely done Brian.

I am starting to wonder do all these drive buy wire throttle bodies need to be mandatory replaced at certain intervals. I had a 2010 Prius that had a triangle of death and had to replace the unit. It was scary the car stopped on a damn busy street in San Francisco

Losing power can be scary but not as bad as losing steering on fly by wire.

Drop of clean engine oil on the seal , wiped almost to a nothing film, also helps. Easy way to recal is to pull battery for 20 minutes, then reconnect. Then turn engine on, and you should hear the motor run from full closed to full open, then back, then move to idle position. Generally works on most vehicles, the ECU wanting to get a recalibration of the learned throttle body sensor readings. Some now send this info digitally, not using an analogue voltage. And yes cleaning with first issues helps, and silicone oil will be burnt in the cylinders into silicon carbide, which is grinding paste, which will promptly land in the exhaust and the engine oil, making a fine abrasive powder, that the oil filter is unable to filter out, as it is too fine, so it circulates in the oil, wearing all the metal parts

Hi B, I’ve got an 08 forester with a p0026 code. Took apart the vvt solenoid housing and cleaned it, the oil sensor screen was broken and shoved into the vvt solenoid. Put it back together and the code came back a week later. I’m also getting a severe loud metallic tapping that only happens under load with the car in drive. Can VVT issues cause these sounds? It doesn’t occur in neutral or park with the engine revving.

Brian, a very strange anomaly here, your 'bonus footage at the end' has been swapped to the beginning.

Read somewhere not to mess with flap because there could be a charge left and can badly cut fingers

Most likely all you had to do was clean it. That little build up of carbon prevents the butterfly from closing and that's why the code says "stuck open". So the guy just lost 200 dollens when he could have loosened a couple of clamps and wiped it clean.

Nunnettal? Is that slang for none at all?
