Hi Neil the carb kit was £75 I saw cheaper ones but weren’t sure of quality or fitment, trying the Vauxhall carb was the cheap options and it seems to have done the trick 🙂👍
I just about recall working on these when I worked at a VW dealer. I understand there were two variants fitted to this 1050cc engine HZ engine code. This vehicle was equipped with auto choke from factory. I haven't watched any of ur other vids but if it was stalling at idle, u need to check t vacuum is satisfactory in t manifold as this can cause poor idle concerns

Had so many shit with this 1B1/1B3 that I'm already thinking of a replacement of a simpler 36mm singleport carburator, but I have no clue which one. Please, I need some help with this Pierburg 1B, it's for an Opel 13NB Kadett/Astra E and it has all the emmision-valves already. its from 1990. Thanks in forward!

Hi Pete it was like trying to get a duff Chinese strimmer carb to run right, in the end I did what I do with them throw them and put another carb on 😂 Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Hi I did think that but I don’t think some have vacuums on 🤔 tbh I’m not sure. It’s running ok so I’m just going to go with it and see how I get on, but I could always connect it to the dizzy from the one vacuum carb outlet instead of connecting it to the air box 🤔 perhaps that maybe better. thanks for watching 🙂👍

It was worth trying to get original carb to work but in the end it was not to be. Sounds and runs great now tho.

Is there something more modern I can upgrade it to? Also an upgrade to get rid of the distributor?
