Just to add a little note. Lowering the needle clip in the direction towards the point of the needle richens the mix and raising the clip up towards the top of the needle leans the mix. He forgets to clarify this and It took some searching to get a direct and easy understanding of that simple little bit of information.
Good information. A handy trick: If you put your [blue] gloved hand right behind the needle when you are trying to get the camera to focus on it up close, your hand will serve as not only a better background color than the black shadow being cast in the background currently, but will give the camera a larger object to focus on. The needle alone as you experienced is too small for the camera to register as the object of focus. Alternatively, you can put the needle right in front of the camera lens (10cm or so away), effectively making the needle a "larger" object than the background (yes it will be fuzzy and out of focus), and then slowly pulling it back away from the lens until the image is clear and the camera focuses on it. Cheers!
TY man, for the clear instructions. I am rebuilding a used 66cc (my very first one), finally got it running. Four-stroking like crazy tho. Turns out I am running WAYY too lean (chalky white spark plug contacts) and I probably just need to adjust my carb (move the E clip). Lots of vids show how to adjust carb and tell you to move the E clip, but so far only yours shows me how to actually take the throttle assembly apart lol. TY again man.
Thank you so much for making this video! The needle on my carb was loose. (Missing parts) I got glued it in place so it doesn’t move and it fired right up! I’ve been all around the Internet and couldn’t find anything. Now it works perfectly!
i really hope this will get my engine running. idk what else it could be. great video though. i wish there was just was just one good video to show me all the little things i gotta tune and clean and mess with to get it running good.
Cool thanks for making this video , I am replacing my son's carburetor on his 110cc quad and this video helped me figure out how to connect the throttle cable.
A Huge thank you for taking the time to make this short clip !!! I have had problem with my Fourtrax 250 for years and this finally fixed the problem... I only moved the C-clip one notch away from the center and it runs like never before !! Again, many thanks ! Pierre
These carbs work on 4 cycle engines .My 2 horse Briggs takes the leanest setting at the top notch then it was still rich till I drilled out holes in the air cleaner cover.
Hi my friend, good explanation, I do like it. Question?? I was wondering why is licking my CARBURETOR all around under the top of the carburetor?? my bike is new, w/80cc y don't even drive 1/2 mile, y did just to try it when I bought the bike, any idea, thanks
Thanks a lot. I was looking at other youtube videos but couldn't figure out how to put it back together. Your video was very helpful! llx66 btw. I didn't have a circlip either but something else that did the same job.
A decent informative video. If ur a novice I guess. But I guess most of os should keep in mind that many kids that take on a project like this r going to have a lot of trial and error. ..just to clear the air I am a certified mechanic the air fule c clip will only affect u at low speeds. In short. If ur motor is not running ruff and plug looks fine u sold b ok if ur motor is bogging ot in idle u may be getting to much fule always start simple and work your way up
Hello, if you carb bowl is getting starved of fuel, you can try adjusting the two levers that control the fuel shut off that in turn get pushed by the white float. I would have thought going lower end (tip) of the needle would consume more fuel and air possibly.
@goto50007 Are you talking about the silver cir-clip that sits on top of the needle? If so, then yes you need that because it keeps the brass needle in place and stops it from rising.
My pit bike is making popping noises and sometimes backfiring inside the engine and into the carb. Does that mean I have to increase the fuel? If so how do I adjust the clip?
Hey GloryOrBust, thanks for stopping by. I don't know how to answer your specific question as the two issues you mentioned may be related to each other or not (meaning they could be completely separate issues having their own causes). I would need to have it in front of me to and get my hands on it. But i'll leave your question here as we have so many helpful viewers i'm sure someone will chime in.
It is possible you have too low of octane gas and it is firing before the cylinder has finished a full revolution, but that is unlikely to cause misfiring. The popping may be caused by a leak in between the cylinder head and the cylinder, possibly due to metal burrs between the cylinder head and cylinder, or a faulty gasket, just take apart the whole engine and check for damage or broken parts.
As long as its the same size and the clip sits on the same part of the needle, should be fine. Only way you will know for sure is by giving it a try. You can also buy carb service kits so you don't need to replace the whole carburettor.
I am the first one to comment and the most thankful. I took mine apart and had no idea how to put it back together. mine didn't have a circlip though. is that important?
so i have a weird problem with my bike. so the throttle does not seem to work at all and when i release the clutch the engine just goes full power like if i had the throttle pulled all the way. the throttle itself doesnt seem to do anything at all like its just there even when i do pull on it it doesnt seem to even create tension on the cable? the bike rides but again i have no speed control it jist automatically goes to top speed PLEASE HELP 😪
Hello Robert, thanks for stopping by. Sounds like like the needle is jammed or you may have a kink in the cable. If there is no tension, also check inside the throttle housing as those plastic cable guides inside do break sometimes.
BritishTech TV haha thanks man! ended up finding out the problem was i didnt tighten down that top peace for the needle n spring 😂 works fine now. Thanks for the reply man!
Most definitely only one notch on mine ... not being an ass but you thought there were 5 and 3 notch needles .. there are also one notch needles that aren’t adjustable...
James könyí . I only yesterday had the same problem but it was just a simple jammed cable prodlem. kt got dislodged at the handle bar end causin to be o nearly half throttle all the time.

Ahhhh. Finally. This video was so perfectly demonstrated!! In-depth, easy to follow, and informative. Thank you!!

Truly appreciated save me $75HR probably $150 in total you the man
Nice tip on making sure the cap for the carb is tight!
Thanks for the fine video. I took my Honda CT70 carb. wire apart and was not sure how to put the wire back. your video helped a lot.
for close up/micro shots. u can use a magnifying glass to help your camera zoom in. good video btw.

Well presented and informative, thanks for the video.
This one really helped me as another person took mine apart and am now happy it’s done properly. Thank you for video.
Right on mate just wot I needed to fix my kids scooter.
These carbs work on 4 cycle engines .My 2 horse Briggs takes the leanest setting at the top notch then it was still rich till I drilled out holes in the air cleaner cover.
nice video now im going to adjust my friend carb.
Thanks 4 video. Learned a lot.
Great video. Good explanation-thanks.
seems to have worked, i site mine to the 4th one from the top, since my engine seemed to be not getting enough fuel
cheers mate very helpful and informative

nice video. mine tends to pull one side closer causing it to bend before its put into the carb. any suggestions if i could loosen up the tension?
I want to know if the octane rating of the fuel used have any effect on the carburetor A/F tune...
Thanks for the great information , you explain it simply and clearly. Thanks from Canada.
If you move the clip will it give more throttle?
Thank u so much for the details
Thanks a lot. I was looking at other youtube videos but couldn't figure out how to put it back together. Your video was very helpful!

btw. I didn't have a circlip either but something else that did the same job.
I will be checking this on my ATC, it seems to be running too rich past 1/2 to 2/3 throttle.
thanks helped a lot
Good tips

Nice one bro 👍🏿
Which direction do you move the clip if you want more fuel?

put it in the carb. This part is easy....
Good video
Good view, good job👌

Great job,
it's good performance ' thank you
I I replaced my needle which was bent by a new one which was little different will there be any effect pls reply

Easy to miss that one, glad you got it sorted in the end mate ....
Where can I get this exact throttle needle
thanks
Most definitely only one notch on mine ... not being an ass but you thought there were 5 and 3 notch needles .. there are also one notch needles that aren’t adjustable...
top notch make most power just run 24to1
i run 40:1
lol no. you can run up to 50:1or mabey more less oil means more power at the risk of increased engine wear.
On my bike the needle was lose so when i started the bike it was running High af
Super
how are the pedal bike engines governed
would anyone be able to tell me what I can do if my bike runs at full speed as soon as I start it
sounds like your throttle is stuck on its max, check the part that hes showing in this video
James könyí . I only yesterday had the same problem but it was just a simple jammed cable prodlem. kt got dislodged at the handle bar end causin to be o nearly half throttle all the time.
and redline
put it on the middle notch,..got it,..duh!!!
i actually feel stupider after watching this.
SUBTITULEN CARAJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
it's good performance ' thank you
