Lmfao, what was surprising was when i saw it in theaters, there was like me and 7 other people. At the very end, 2 people stood up and clapped. But for like 2 or 3 because no one else was doing it XD
I agree it would've been cooler not to know, but had they not shown the high concept hook of her being a vampire, it would have been terrible to market it. As it would have just looked like a standard mediocre kidnapping movie, and you wouldn't have nearly enough footage to even use in marketing trailers. The vampire concept was just too integral as a selling point for the film. At least that's how my marketing director brother explained it. And honestly it doesn't take away from enjoying the movie or it's quality whatsoever
Yeah, the teaser was so good. Just having that "I'm sorry for what's going to happen to you " to let you know something was up but not what it was. These days if I'm interested in seeing a movie at the cinema, I only want to see the teaser.
I agree but I’m not sure what they could have used to fill up that length of the trailer while leaving out such a big part of the movie. I’m sure it’s possible but I can’t think of what they could have used.
(WARNING!! I just finished typing out my reply to you and HOLY SHIT is it freaking loooooong!! I guess that’s what I get for hitting my “computer doobie” so many times and then making my way to the comments section on TH-cam on my day off!! LOL. Please feel free to completely ignore everything I have to say! I’m not even going to go back through and proof read everything cuz I mean… FUCK THAT!! LOL.) I have some majorly mixed feelings on this take… First of all, you’re 100% correct about the fact that anyone who went into this movie completely blind _definitely_ had an INCREDIBLE time (As long as they’re into these types of films, of course.) and had even more of a wild ride than those of us who already knew what was up with Abigail for the most part. However, Abigail being a vampire isn’t only a _major_ part of the movie, it’s the central plot line. So while, yeah, _not_ already knowing that it’s her would’ve made the movie that much more fun, I personally don’t feel like knowing she’s the vampire takes away from the film at all as, again, the “ballerina vampire” _IS_ the _entire_ movie. Also, I honestly think that them _not_ disclosing the fact that it’s her REALLY wouldn’t have gone well for them advertising wise due to the other options that they’re left with. I suppose they could’ve just focused on the abduction part of the story in the trailer/adverts but that alone, while still somewhat interesting, certainly isn’t enough to get the vast majority of people invested enough to go see it. Plus, there simply isn’t enough movie that takes place that solely revolves around the kidnapping before the weird shit starts going down. Thus, there was really no way for them to create a compelling trailer using only, what, the first 20 to 25 minutes of the movie. Not to mention the fact that there isn’t enough movie revolving around that part to even make a full trailer out of. _Also,_ I feel like the only people _just_ showing that to who would still be _hella down_ to see it would be fans of Radio Silence/their work thus far. (Which, full transparency, I’d put myself into that camp of folks for sure - for sure! I *LOVED* Ready Or Not, Scream VI, Scream 2022, and _now_ Abigail! Their shit is just RIGHT up my alley!) But those peeps (Or should I say, _us_ peeps? LOL.) obviously, would’ve been excited to watch Radio Silence’s next project no matter how much or how little was revealed in the trailer. The same DEFINITELY cannot be said for the general public. Aside from them cutting out 90% of the movie for their advertising, they, _obviously,_ could’ve gone the route in which they let the audience know that _something_ is off, without revealing that Abigail is, in fact, that _”something”._ (Which, if I had to guess, is probably the route that you have in mind when you say that you wish that they hadn’t shown us that little Miss Abby is the “Big Bad”, LOL, as that idea certainly makes the most sense!) The problem with all of that though is the fact that, what is now seemingly being built up as some huge plot twist, is actually INCREDIBLY easy to sort out by anyone who had ANY sort of deduction skills what-so-ever. I mean, kidnappers snatch up an adorable little ballerina and then, all of a sudden, the kidnappers start getting BRUTALLY murdered!!! Obviously, it’s the girl and something is MAJORLY off with her. LOL. (Not to mention the fact that movie is fucking NAMED AFTER HER. Hello, red flag. LOL.) Even if they had come up with a different name for the film, I still *STRONGLY* believe that _most_ people would’ve been able to figure out that Abigail was the one killing everybody _and_ she was the one with the otherworldly connections. Which, I think anyway, would’ve caused all of these people to head into the film disappointed that they’d already figured out, what they surely believed at this point, the films MAJOR/MASSIVE plot twist! And having people sitting down to watch your film ALREADY BUMMED OUT is _for sure_ “Bad News Bears”. LOL. Basically, I feel like they were damned if they did and damned if they didn’t! Personally, I *strongly* believe that they made right choice in revealing the fact that Abigail was, not just _a,_ but _the_ vampire. Again, mostly because it is THE plot of the whole goddamn movie. Having said all of that, however, I 100% agree with you that anyone who got to go into Abigail completely clueless, by far and away, had the BEST experience!! Straight up - I bet that shit was fucking AMAZING!!

I recognize the Ballet song from The Black Swan incredible movie
The girl that plays the vampire is an amazing actress, hilarious but scary too and the paranormal activity 4 girl is awesome too, she’s so damn funny and rest in peace Mr. Cloud.
when I saw the first trailer for this, and it was revealed about the sweet, innocent, little girl... being a reverse horror movie! I'm all in!
That was a spoil if they marketed it as dracula taking them out to save his little girl then we would be surprised
I think you guys should watch The Lord Of The Rings, Inception, and Breaking Bad
They should never have revealed that she was a vampire in the marketing. For the first 40 minutes, you’re just waiting for the reveal, which is a problem. If we didn’t know, there would have been no issue, and the tension would have been better.
"We should check on the girl."
I assure you, the little girl is ok.
Rest in peace Angus T. Cloud.
so nobody got the "Rat Pack" reference?
Sammy, Frank, Dean........
I havent seen 1 review that picked that up.
This movie was so fun!
I'm so glad I went to see this movie so spoiler free I didn't even know she was a vampire
Actually, she did make money. She earned $220 from the other team members when she did her cold read of them.
Its pretty good the kids love it with those splashing boom deaths horror with comedy hope it gets a part 2
This plot is basically The Usual Suspects, with Abigail basically being Kobayashi and her father being Keyser Soze.
That's the vibe I got. Not sure if I liked it with that in mind. I mean, it wasn't bad but...was it good?
