- Hey everyone, another racing video and today we are ranking all of Criterions racing games! From their humble beginnings all the way to NFS Unbound we are looking at every racing game they have worked on in some way!

Finally somebody who likes MW2012, yeah you can go get the best cars but nobody makes you to do this, if you hate driving fast cars you can drive a Lancia or Range Rover lol. I think people just hate this game just because of the title

Fun Fact : Criterion's Most Wanted was actually supposed be a direct sequel to '05 Most wanted. There is a PS 3 beta version of the game that I don't know if we can still play. The main menu was very similar. The OG M3 GTR was the primary car. Old characters were back. Old events were back. It looked like a 7th generation take on the OG Most Wanted. But EA really wanted to shift the developer (Criterion to Ghost Games) and they decided to rush the game. So, Criterion had to shredder everything down and start from scratch. But it's not possible to make a polished game with a very small time period. So they reused the exact handling model from 2010, reused some mechanics from Burnout Paradise. They didn't have time to make a fully fleshed ou progression system either. So they put cars all over the map for us to collect. And they put everything together as they can and move forward to help Ghost Games with NFS Rivals.
I actually feel sad for Criterion. Once was a racing giant, and got destroyed by EA.
You're absolutely right. To me, this situation shows how big is the potential of the work of Criterion. Even in the middle of all this, Most Wanted 2012 and Rivals are very consistent games, and have their personality. I like these two...

Showtime in Burnout Paradise does have a "Mode", I mean Showtime itself IS the mode. Every Road in the game has a Time Road Rule and Showtime Road Rule, set the fastest time on each road and highest Showtime $$$ record on each road to "Rule" that road... Doing all of them for every road unlocks specific Carbon Cars (and is part of 100% for various Trophys/Achievements etc.)
Love how you made Crimson Fury from Twisted Metal 1 in Unbound, if that was your gameplay. I also love Hot Pursuit 2010 the most along with the remaster.
Here for Suzuki Alstare Extreme racing! Yeah it has limited tracks and limited choice of bikes but the city level is very good and very memorable imo!
With the first Burnout I understand your points totally. Though if you would have played it during its release, you might have more nostalgia for it. And you might get more out of it. And I do believe it was more of a budget title when first released

dude I need to tell you that the nfs community is one of the biggest jokes of a community in gaming, I heavily respect making another list even touching nfs at all after the last time you did, never let the clowns get to you. nice vid.
I played only Burnout Paradise remastered on ps4 Pro, and it was totally great. Just something about it felt much better than all the modern nfs games. Also, I love the fictional cars. I think, though, especially the remastered version, got some hate, so what do you think ? Is it a good remaster? Did you play it? Would you recommend that version or the original one ?
I would like to see a ranking of every render ware games using it engine because I seen a lot of games using it when I was growing up

I would like to just recommend maybe a video on bethesda games in general or fallout or elder scrolls. Fallout 4 is one my favourite games, and Doom eternal is my favourite. Anw i just wanted to give some support because i have watched a LOT of your videos and drop a reccomendation. In any case just keep doing what you are doing, you are great.

odd Criterion Games (on TH-cam) has no uploads of Need for Speed Unbound regarding advertisements/trailers
It's no wonder someone giving low ratings to older games of Criterion. In there first days, they mad games solely for the promotion purposes of the Renderware engine. It was Alex Ward and Fionna Perry who changed the game in early 2000s.

Hot Pursuit, Burnout Revenge and Paradise and most wanted 2012 were the best for me cause these are the only games I've played from criterion
I wouldn't say MW 2012 is among there best games. It has more flaws than NFS Unbound. But it's not actually Criterion's fault. The beta version of the game is very different and felt like a Criterion's game. You can guess who's responsible for that.
Hot Pursuit 2010 is actually open world and all the roads are connected, it's just that the game doesn't require you to ever enter the "Open World" at any point (it is completely pointless actually 🤷♂️) it directs you to just select from the List Of Events in the Menu.
I actually don't really like Criterion's NFS tenure, if anything just because we lost Burnout as well in the process #BringBackBurnout

I said this many times and I will say this again, that Rivals' soundtrack is not obnoxious. You ever heard about EDM back in the old NFS games like in Underground? You need to get your ears checked.
It's better than most of the recent NFS soundtracks like in Heat or Unbound. Come on man.
