    Got turned down in the latest ballot for the Evo SL, but thankfully I'd already found and purchased a different pair online 👌🏻 They arrive today and I can't wait to get going in them. I love that Lightstrike Pro foam 💪🏻 I reckon I'll end up buying the Novablast 5 as well once Asics get the all black colourway back in stock 😊

      @@Gramps-Media So I live in Australia and I’ve been waiting patiently for the Evo SL and Adios Pro 4’s (the white with black stripe colour way) to drop. I’ve been checking everyday on the Adidas app. I’m watching all the online reviewers getting them and Adidas have been doing small drops here and there, but I keep missing out.
      Then out of no where, the ASICS Superblast 2 came back in stock everywhere in the new colour ways. So I decided to pull the trigger and got a pair of Novablast 5’s and Superblast 2’s.
      Adidas trying to create this hype and scarcity is only going to cost them sales in the long run, as I’ll probably just continue to buy ASICS shoes now.

    I had both. The NB5 is better, but not because the Evo sl is bad. They are two different shoes to me. Evo sl is a speed shoe and the NB5 is a daily. The NB5 feels way more comfortable and natural to run in. The Evo sl is boarder line race day feel to me. I already have a pure speed shoe to I returned the Evo sl. Also the sl does not feel good at slow paces. It’s firm. I don’t think this shoe deserved the hype in my opinion, it’s good, but not THAT good. Actually I have the Boston 12 for speed day and prefer it to the Evo.

    Sounds to me like the Adizero SL2 is actually the better option. It's cheaper and more versatile than the Evo SL from the sounds of it. Not just you, but other runners who've reviewed it as well.
    BTW, I stand on the ground that the Adizero SL2 is closer to the original Novablast than any other shoe. I put on my original Novablasts and did a back to back run with the SL2, and they both have that something special about them, and a little bonkers at the same time.

    • @philipppuchner1115
      @philipppuchner1115 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      And I have the SL2 currently at home for trying on and out (at home, indoors) and I am disappointed!
      This shoe is and feels cheap, like i am running on the ground and the outsole is slippery as hell on my wooden floor.
      It feels and sounds like cheap plastic instead of rubber.
      Despite that, many reviewers call the outsole and the grip decent, just a few call it sh*t.
      If the Evo SL is anywhere similar, it is also no good to me because I already have more than enough shoes and if, I would get a Novablast 5 or wait for the TR version.
      I discovered right now the "underdog" Puma and am surprised how good the Velocity Nitro 3 GTX is!

      @@philipppuchner1115 You should probably try running in a running shoe. Just a suggestion. I dont think walking around your home inside on wooden floors is indicative of outside, hard use scenarios. I got about 15 miles into the shoes and they opened up and feel great. Really soft and bouncy for me, though a bit unstable. The outsole grip on my runs have been great. Yes, on extremely slick surfaces like painted driveways or car parks can be a little sketchy, but on normal road surfaces and gravely bits, they have been great and show nearly no wear after 60 some odd miles. Keep in mind, the SL2 is a classic daily trainer in the sense you can do just about everything in it. I wouldnt take the SL2 past the half marathon distance, but for regular daily runs, speed work, and some easy recovery efforts, its been a solid shoe for me, but some shoes wont work for everyone, and thats okay. Thats why the Supernova Rise or Prima exists.

      @@philipppuchner1115 : not sure what are you on when testing that SL2.

    • @philipppuchner1115
      @philipppuchner1115 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RobertHarridge absolutely, But I've ordered 2 sizes to try on at home to see the fit anf the size.
      And when then the shoe is so off putting, the feelin, the laces, the outsole"rubber" etc, I don't know why i would ever put my feet in such a horrible shoe. No need to run in those, i may then run barefoot or something, should feel equaly bottoming out.
      For some light peeps, maybe okish - but also JUST because of the price on sale.
      The Evo SL should have more stack, full length LSPro midsole and a bit of a better fit and upper. So, IF ever an Adidas shoe, I would try one of those. maybe useful as fashion sneaker? And I am not one of those guys ;)
      Anyway, forgetting the price, It is by far the worst running shoe I've ever put my narrow feet inside.
      I think I'll go with Puma - VN3 gtx is fantastic, Pumagrip sticks to anything and cheap VN2 and DN2 are on their way to me :)

    I think the SL was worth the hype .. I think the hype was coming from the running community which already has trainers.. so it not being a do it all isn’t really an issue. I think you breezed past it a bit there.. the real hype imo came from it using a foam people like for $150 starting price. Nike released the Pegasus plus (turbo) at $180..
    So similar to the SL2, adidas came into market with their good foam, undercutting a lot of other big brands, which is nice, considering they are a big brand that can get away with up charging.. they aren’t saints.. I’m sure this shoe costs them .30 cents to make, but that’s true of their competition too
