Already put 300km into the EVO SL, absolutely love it

Absolutely love the Evo SL, arguably my current favourite. Superblast 2 was on top but think the Evo might’ve taken the spot!

I ran them back to back last 2 days, Boston fit is perfect for me so don't find the upper comfort much different except the tongue on the Boston is better. EVO sl tongue does slide down a bit so probably need to adjust the lacing to prevent that.
Both are great though the EVO sl has a more aggressive rocker pushing you to run faster.
Boston 12 is easier to cruise in.

I have the Boston 12 and the Evo SL just came in the mail. My first impressions just walking around at home compared to the Boston 12: The Evo SL fit TTS, if anything I'd be curious to see how half a size up would feel as it feels almost too short for my linking as I like a little bit of room at the front. I wear a size 9 US in both shoes. Fit in the Evo SL is more universal front to back whereas the Boston 12 is a bit narrower in the midfoot and ever so slightly wider in the forefoot compared to the Evo SL. Boston 12 is a few millimetres longer in the 'elf toe' at the very front and centre of the toebox (never understood this design as its useless room unless your middle toe is the longest of all your toes). I don't like narrow toeboxes and have no issue with the Evo SL toebox especially compared to say the fit of a lot of Puma or Saucony shoes but the Boston 12s is slightly wider which I prefer. Boston 12 feels lower to the ground (its also broken in at over 100km) and slightly more stable with a wider midsole at the back and front but I would not say the Evo SL feels unstable. Compared to the Adios Pro 4 the Evo SL feels very stable walking haha. Outsole on the Boston 12 is certainly more grippy (There is a 700km review of the Evo SL on youtube that says grip on wet surfaces becomes an issue as the outsole wears out). Evo SL feels slightly bouncer and softer walking around which will likely be even more noticeable when running. The front rocker of the Evo SL is definitely noticeable even just walking around, I'd say by far the most aggressive front rocker I've experienced personally as far as daily trainers, would probably feel less so if I was to size up half a size. Not surprisingly the upper is easier to lace up on the Evo SL. Both shoes look fantastic in the colorways I have, I'd give a slight edge to the Evo SL. Given how long its taking for the Boston 13 to come out it better be the worlds best shoe in its category when it does.

I know channels don't focus at all about true durability... As someone who've run 1800km+ in two pairs of Prime X, 1700km in B12s(still using them mostly for easy runs), the outsole of the EVO SL seems more like the one on the Adios Pro models which for me lasted 700km roughly on the Pro 2s.
For that reason, even though I'm interested in the EVO SL, I'll stick with the B12s for now (still have two pairs to wear down)... especially considering that the white upper is a nightmare to maintain.

Agree with you, two pairs of Boston 10 (1500 and 900) and they are still pretty good, my Adios Pro 3 have 700 and i guess that they will achieve easily 1k, the Boston it´s not what it used to be but still like them; and just got the Adios 9 and love them.

Nice comparison. I did not like the B12, I did expect much more versatile, instead I was enjoying it only during slow running. Looking forward to try the Evo SL.

the boston 12 is the most underrated super shoe you can do everything if you have the proper footstrike in that shoe.

@@karls8989I understand, but unfortunately not my shoe, everyone has a different footstrike, and It seems that B12 doesn't fit mine, while other models yes. It is what it is ... 🤷‍♂

i think a fairer comparison will be when the Boston 13 drops later this year with i think only LSP plus the rods that will be a beast. the boston 12 is great but it is not a fair fight vs the great evo sl

    • @jefreywith1f924
      @jefreywith1f924 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

Rumor has it, the Boston 13 has a fiberglass plate instead of the rods. The best thing about the Boston 12 is the thin fork like rods in the forefoot which gives the shoe a more natural feel than a plate which can make it feel more controlling.

On your slow mo sections the evo sl looks quite unstable, to unstable for my liking, Boston’s 12 is a great shoe, very versatile and I have no issues with lock down or finding it fidddly to get on. 😊

I'm curious how adidas will design the Boston 13 with how well and versatile they made the SL line.

Got my Boston 12 for $65 from Adidas website a few months ago. Great for my speed work and no fit issues. Adidas has sales all the time, just keep an eye out.

Just bought today and I was surprised the stack height of Evo SL is almost the same as of Boston 12. I hope other brands will release reasonably-priced daily trainers with full-length Zoom X, FFTurbo+ or something exciting😊

The Evo SL has 2 mm more foam underfoot than the Boston 12, believe it or not. Since the Evo SL doesn't have any stiffening agent, the midsole compresses more, unlike the Boston 12 which has both energy rods and stiffer EVA carrier foam. I hope other brands would copy Adidas' strategy as well, though I don't think both Nike and Asics are that generous.

They're doing the online preregistration release of the Evo SL again, rather then just release it. This time I'm not bothering, they either release it on general sale or they don't get my sale any more. .....which will impact them not one but, but it's my protest
    Good vid as always

How does the outsole of the Evo perform on light trails? It seems more suited for flat surfaces, mainly roads.
Regarding sizing: my Puma shoes are 28 cm long in size EU 43. Adidas sizing is completely different, with 28 cm listed as EU 45 1/3. Should I go for EU 45, or will that be too big?

Surprised about the fitm the Boston 12 is very large fitting. 95% of my shoes im us 12, Boston 12 im us 11,5.

The b12 was like running with wood planks on your feet. No energy return, no cushion, horrendous upper. What a waste of money.

a shoe like the Boston 12 that uses the lightstrike 2.0 which is entry level Eva cannot be defined as a high level shoe. SL: standing ovation

It is a dual layer. It has Lightstrike Pro as well. Works well giving a touch more stability. No one is saying it is a top racing shoe but for the price it is a great, versatile trainer. Fantastic for up beat long runs of 30+km for me.
