I am at a music festival Friday and Saturday but I really want to go to YALC on Sunday. I’ll be going on my own which is quite scary for me but this video was so useful to know what to expect as I’ve never been before

Very excited to be attending for the first time! Thanks for the video and letting us know about the cloakroom as we won't be able to get into our air bnb until 3pm on Friday but now I know we have somewhere to dump our stuff :)
I'll be there on Saturday. Done other cons before so I expect crowds, heat and a lot of being on your feet ha. But never done YALC. I'll be alone but I'm also awkward so fingers crossed I'll be able to get my crap together and speak to at least one person
I think they are doing the ticketed queuing again. Cos Alice Osemen is doing it. I’ve been every year and yalc have a different entrance and you aren’t queuing with the comic con lot
I'm so excited for YALC! It's my first YALC, and also my first time travelling to London by myself (I'm coming over from Dublin). One question I had and I missed the Liveshow - is it easy to buy books from authors doing signing? There is a few authors I haven't read from before and like the look of their books, wondering if I need to buy them beforehand to get signed or if I can buy books on the day of the signing at YALC.
@@BooksNest I asked the YALC Twitter account and they said you can still get into YALC with a LFCC ticket. Of course there are advantages to getting a YALC ticket but in case someone has got an LFCC ticket no need to panic! I guess it doesn't make sense if you can go to Comic Con with a YALC ticket but not the other way round! 😊
Hello~ this video is very helpful I'm planning on going next year, my first time, so I still have something I'm unsure about. Usually for book signings, does it have to be new books you buy from shops there or can you bring your own copies for books you already own?

Yeah, Oseman's is virtual I think? The queueing being ticketed makes it way easier!

I used to just get a ticket for Comic Con and I could still always get into YALC as well just FYI unless this has now changed!
I think people can slip up but there is a specific YALC wrist band so really those who don't have that could be asked to leave the floor I think.

I've heard of a number of people that contracted covid after attending this event.
Yeah a lot of people did, I think it was inevitable sadly with that many people so closely packed together.
