Do you know if previous Tesla accessories are compatible with the new highland version? Roof shades? Trunk and frunk mats? Thanks!!

How is your roof glass gap between the 2 glass at roof? Mine has kind of rubber that seems to be a seal that comes out of the gap between the 2 glasses.

Not perfect but not bad .... out of curiosity, why not use same camera and technique and go check a Corolla or Camry

I've only seen half a dozen Tesla's and they all had big gaps. I spoke to one owner and he said the wind noise created because of the gaps was so bad he had to keep the radio on all the time. I've got a nissan juke and the gaps are so small getting a cigarette paper between them is hard. How they charge so much for a car that looks like a cheese slicer and hasn't got an engine is the greatest con trick in automotive history..😂

After seeing your thumbnail, I went in with low expectations. I'd be fine with those panel gaps. With legacy cars, having panel gaps is a symptom of more serious manufacturing issues in general, with Tesla it isn't the same as the internals are the most advanced of any EV manufacturer. I'm guessing the gaps could be a cause of the way different parts are put together in an easy and low cost manner, a bit like lego, probably in preparation for being built by Optimus robots. The whole Tesla experience is so amazing compared to any other car I have experienced that the potential gaps are a very small issue. Imagine living without the Supercharging network or the software with many very useful smart features that once you get used to you can't live without and are unique to Tesla.

I mean the car is not perfect but my God is an experience to drive, this is my first EV and I don't think I can go back. the other crazy thing is that here in the Netherlands SuperChargers are cheaper than charging at home for some reason.

Here in the UK I pay 7.5p/kWh charging at home overnight which is the equivalent of 2p per mile. On my nearest Tesla Supercharger it used to be 25p/kWh off-peak, now gone up to 35p/kWh. I can't think of much I'd change with my Model 3 Performance, the feature I'd like the most is vehicle to load so I could power my home during the day with cheap electricity charged during the night. It is the nearest to a perfect car that I have ever experienced.

Thanks for the vid! Better gaps than previously but not that great. Saw the Highland last week on an auto show and was kind of disappointed by the gaps, especially around the trunk. Also, in the interior, the driver side door was not perfectly aligned and now it shows because of the led band. How is yours?

I think if you are setting on the driver side they will not look aligned, but from the passenger side they looks almost perfect and vise versa.

@@EJTechandDIY Not sure: the misalignement on the driver side was visible even from the outside of the car. Don't get me wrong: I love my current Model 3 and I like th Highland on paper. Still, I'm not upgrading until they solve this issue and also the awful delivery experience issue.

Damn man by Tesla standards that is a clean car. I wouldn't be at all concerned about any of what you showed. You got a good one :D

I have a friend with a very early Model 3, somewhere around the first 6k made. It has a pretty big gap above the driver side tail light. Despite this, his car has somehow managed to go about 110,000 miles to date with no major issues. Not sure how he has survived all this time.

The tech in Teslas is actually very reliable, it´s the fit & finish that took them a while to improve.

Your car doesn’t brake down from a panel gap haha? Why would it? All cars have panel gaps, it’s just the consistency between them in which Tesla lacks slightly to other car manufacturers. But in turn you get a way more competitively priced car with a lot more tech, range and power.

That's not a Fremont California car from the United States so panel gaps are not an issue.

This is pretty good. Even gaps. I think the A pillar is a problem spot for Tesla and has always been. It´s pretty good on this car.

Btw. The bigger gaps on the trunk is normal. It´s built like that to protect against slamming and other things.

Uneven panel gaps, orange peel paintwork, and creaky plastic trim internally, were some of the reasons I chose not to go for a Tesla Model 3 pre-pandemic. The others were the lack of practicality due to having no tailgate, and having watched Sandy Munro's TH-cam video, where his workshop reverse engineered a Model 3. Sandy Munro commented that the M3 showed a lack of design and manufacturing experience. The rear wheel-arch was made up from no less than 9 separate pieces of steel. Most other car makers would use no more than 2 or 3....... I won't be looking at Tesla again for perhaps another 10+ years.....

See the first part of your comment makes perfect sense but finishing with "I won´t look at Tesla again for another 10+ years shows how you mistake Tesla to be as any other company when in fact they iterate so fast that their fit & finish has improved so fast that the recent ones are actually better than legacy auto companies. At least, the 3 & Y coming out of China or Berlin. The Fremont factory sadly can´t be improved as much due to lack of space and automation ability, being an older factory instead of a ground-up one.
