1. Heartbreaker - Led Zeppelin
2. Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
3. Angel - Lemmo
It blows my mind they still aren't using an actual mic to record the audio. Come on guys, a little interface like the zoom units with a SM57 cost like $200 all in and will sound a million times better!
Yeatzee Guitar me too, but I think the idea is give less of pro recording and more of “amp in the room sound.”
@@blindguitarfox that's fine but it's not hard to set up a room mic then. One that is in one spot and not moving with the camera giving the weird phasing effect.
I actually agree, even just a simple stereo mic on a stand getting the room sound would be more appropriate
I guarantee there's multiple microphones in that store that they sell they could just grab one off the shelf and set it up.
@@steveg219 carter vintage does an amazing job on the simplest of videos...
Now that is what an LP is supposed to sound like! That was a killer demo Micheal!
Back when they made them correctly.. Proper frets, proper neck profile, proper pups... Back in '69, one of my friends got a '57 gold... It was near mint.. nice guitar.
Absolutely killed it yet again Michael! Led for the head and ears. Just more evidence that a classic Les Paul cranked and a Jimmy Page riff equals magic. The riff at the end was great, too. That guitar may not be the prettiest Goldtop ever because of heavy use but i have heard very few that sound like that. It has vibe and there is no way to quantify the worth of that. What a great video...thanks also to Norm for the background story and for sharing these instruments with us. If this was a class at school, everyone would want to take it! God bless you guys and keep rockin' it Michael!
Les Paul's sustain more than all other guitars. Its not a myth, its as real as this video.
Some do. Depends entirely on the setup and the relative gauss of the magnet. A reason a lot of people prefer PAFs is because the mags were generally not as powerfully charged as modern A5's and the like. Allows the guitar to breathe a lot better ..
That’s what happens when your guitar weighs 30 lbs
Good point Curtis..😁
travis bean wants a word
@@onthe1481 for sure, and those aluminium necks definitely trump a Les Paul!
Now that's a Goldtop Las Paul for you !!! Lemmo killed it once again.
Thought he should've used that Marshall stack though. Would've blown another camera up lol. Damn good sounding Vintage guitar...
Man oh man, Michael brings out the best is these guitars.
The beginning moments of this demo are incredible - like a tornado coming into view. One of the best GOTDs ever, maybe the best
Michael Lemmo - The only man who could successfully follow Mark Agnesi and bring Gotd back to the glory it deserves. Rock on 🤟
And play a righteously riffable tune of his own that stands toe to toe with the Zep canon. Damn.
Mark who?
@@nosaj666 accurate
Hey that sounds like my epiphone Les Paul custom with the 57 classics in it. ..... hahahhahhhh no it doesn’t
Lol
Jipke LOL
Post posterous I think he was contributing to the original joke. Saying the ware on the top is actually a QC problem. I thought it was funny.
Jipke idiot
Yeah!!!!
Wow. Just wow! Beast of a guitar. Hope it ends up on stage and not a wall.
I’m sitting here it’s 4.45 am just heading out work and that was killer....Mr Lemmo you a guitar Demon...hey Jen...
Damn, that thing does sound badass. Great playing and great filming. Two artists at work, and Norm.
haha, and Norm
Hahaha
Might be the best sounding guitar and amp combination I've seen on this show so far
Norm wasn't lyin' ,that thing sounds killer and in Lemmo's hands stellar ! Thanks Jen !
I think some of those Zep songs were actually a Tele on the Album. The movie featured Jimmy playing a LP, but from the album, it's a telecaster. Someone help me on that ?.
Pretty sure it's a LP. They're fron LZ II which is when Page got the LP. On LZ I he uses the Tele.
Jimmy page played a tele on the albums Back in the day
I listened to this everyday since it was posted.
I like how Lemmo says “cool” after each song. Spoken by a humble man. The word should be “epic” after each song. Great stuff as always. Thank you.
This video has so much win in it! Goldtop! 57! Zep! Lemmo!
Wow. Just wow. Awesome guitar. Awesome song choice. Awesome playing. Awesome sound and videography. Maybe my favorite GOTD ever. Thanks Norm, Michael, and Jen!!
Kick Ass. That's all I can say. Everything in this video is just Kick Ass. Awesome everything. Even Lemmo's killer shirt. Love it
Great songs, great playing and always great to see, Norm.
Michael I’ve heard a few lads play zepp but that was just out of this world.. take a bow my man.. your some kinda guitar genius. 🎸🎸🎸🤘
Les Paul model guitars are my favorite, sweet sounds very clean . Sunburst finish my favorite
Favorite guitar that's been on guitar of the day thus far!! Love the guitar and that tone!
"...first most popular guy, he's on life support..."
Best Norm quote, EVER!!😂
Man, that quote went over my head, what did he mean???
What does that mean
Mike read the explanation in the comment above yours.
James TheDoctor Duncan and?????........can you answer? or do you not know?
My God man!! That was awesome!! The guitar and you Mr.Lemmo!!
It’s guitar’s like this that just give me chills
Audio quality was tremendous!! Sounds soooo good.
Beautiful Guitar, Thank you Lemmo for not using a Looper!
Hey Lemmo, I really DIG that Guitar
Ring on your Right Forefinger, Looking Sharp Man.......🎸💚
Excellent, my favorite so far!! 🍁
For me, watching Michael's eyes light up at the sustain was even better than hearing that gorgeous beast tone. Makes me happy to see someone enjoy their work.
The perfect Gold Top! Nice playing too!
That guitar is just stunning in every way..
Nice to see Norm helping out with the guitar history and description, the guy’s a goldmine of knowledge when it comes to old guitars. The old Les Paul is amazing, further proof if needed that you can’t beat the real thing. Buy a reissue and you’re just fooling yourself.
Yeah but you might be able to afford a house
I've said it before, I'll say it again.
I LOVE gold tops !!!!!
Downright the most amazing sounding LP I've heard
My favorite Les Pauls are goldtops.
Agreed. I have a 56 gold top copy. Great rock a billy guitar.
Norm is the best man on TH-cam ! Love his human being ....kind regards from France
I bet it sounds better now than it did when it was new. I've played a few and imo the more the finish is worn the better they resonated.
Yep,your absolutely correct...and can you believe that some folks are sooooo tone deff that they can't hear it? It's worse that the flat earthers
One of the best sounding guitars you've had I reckon.
Kid, kicking out the jams!! Right on!!
That tone is in your hands my man!
Great job Lemmo! What an awesome guitar. I hope it goes to a good home 👍
now that's what I'm talkin about , those PAF's just kick ass , what a great guitar , you nailed it when you said dream guitar. Great demo , rockin the Led Zep and the last song was off the chart , an original I assume , thanks Michael , you are a killer man.
More from Norm. We can all learn from him. Music also improving. We need wake up sounds in Europe. Also, can we hear more blues orientated players? Thanks.
That'll Do Michael, That'll do !
Whoa! Not a diss in any way, but that is absolutely the first and only time I’ve seen someone try to play the “Heartbreaker” riff in the 5th position!
MAJOR!!! Love the last jam Lemmo hope you do more like that.
Spectacular guitar and way to get the Led Out! Jimmy Page is also a fan of Royal Blood.
That was breathtaking god damnn
I play Telecasters exclusively but if I were ever to get a Les Paul;, I would definitely go with the gold top. Love it.
My teacher had the 56 model. Twas STUNNING!!!
That was freaking awesome Lemmo. And that guitar.... 😍
Watching for so many years, my favourite guitar... first post too
What a lovely 1957.
Totally enjoyed the song choices - and that gold-top is delicious!
The stuff at the end was jaw dropping
I can dig it. Awesome playing
Yes..incredible .yes.playing...filming.
I'd love to hear what the guitar sounds like with some clean tones thrown in there. Ideally you would lemmo-demo clean and distorted sounds.
such a killer sound
Was certain there wasn't gonna be a Lemmo Demo today. Glad I was proven wrong 😎
That's my dream guitar. Nice job

Oh yeah that thing sounds great. Mr Lemmo should take that one home.
That’s what we call a left handed compliment mike.
Thank you for having Michael on guitar of the day, The best move ever ! I subscribed again ! Could not cope with the other guy
Awesome playing by Lemmo!! Killer guitar!!! I want it bad! Maybe if I sell my first born, second born, and a kidney I'd be able to buy that ax!
Not if I beat you to it first!!✌
Golly gee...its beautiful
Oh man that's the good stuff
That last tune was great!
Sounds great...even with a possibly broken and repaired headstock. If you have to deprive me of enjoying a Strat on Straterday, I guess a gold top Les Paul...
Lemmo, you're going places buddy
Hopefully not to Gibson
Wait. So does it have a repaired neck break? Neck crack? Or finish repair??? Each has a much different price point
Pretty sure Gibson had no idea that guitar was capable of that sound in '57!! Thanks, Michael.
Woah dude that's a really weird point but you're totally right. How strange to think about
Just fantastic guitar playin, lemmo... Leif
That is one of the best tones ever!
Great Job!!!! glad I clicked today
by all appearances Mr. Lemmo had a little fun playing this one (I thought I saw a few wisps of smoke coming off his fingers)
Getting some hendrix tone on that solo you did in heartbreaker sounds killer Lemmo cheers
Rock: engaged. 👍 I'll take it. Anybody got 100k?
DAMM DAMM DAMM "I bought a guitar exactly same, in 1967, at Hunnington Park CA Pawn Shop, where I caught bus up to Pally Supply in Vernon. I loved mark when he was here, still like him but this kid shows what these guitars do better than anyone!!
The best!!!! Not more to say!!!
Who sang out “You need.. Coolin, baby I’m not fooolinna” when he opened it up!!!! Yes... you did if you know!!!!!
Haha,yeah..but I heard a group of Angles go "Ahhhhhhhhhh" when he opened it....but yeah,Zepplin Rocks!
Love a gold top
Damn, that goldie is as cool as Lemmo's playing!11!
Incredible demo Mr. Lemmo!
First. How can you not plug that guitar into the Marshall amp.
Damn, now we need a real Burst. It's been few years of the show and the closest we got to a Burst was either a 58 Goldtop or a conversion that Mark did.
SwirkH mark did 1 or 2 bursts i think
@@fchampd4512 He only did a 1960 Burst, but that was way before Guitar of the Day.
they will never get a real burst...very rare
@@sugarlife485 On the other hand, they are famous store in LA, and Norm has had many bursts in the past. I think they will eventually get one, it's just a matter of time.
Unreal.
Wish I had them pups in my Tele,
Bob
WHAT A BEAST !!
Nicely done sir.
Awsome playing by Lemmo!
1:Led Zeppelin Heartbreaker
2:Led Zeppelin Whole Lotta love
3:Lemmo Somone else Said Angel
Thinking it might be a tool song
Someone else said Angel by Michael Lemmo
That guitar sounds amazing....or is it just the player?!
Prob both
Lemmo plays almost every song incorrectly and it sounds so good I start questioning if I’ve been playing it wrong all along
Charles Scala YES
That was awesome!
Killer episode Lemmo! 🤙🏻
