No it's more plausible, op is correct. Think about it this way. We have organs that hold no purpose. Why would a perfect god have organs that serve no purpose aside from to cause you harm? That isn't perfect, but it WOULD be useful if oh I don't know, prior to us evolving we needed them to eat and do other things.
It's just a shame we created god in the dark ages before we knew we would have medical technology to see these organs which would make these old books contradictory.
Think of it as a video game. You are the game developer, and you made sentient, digital life. You would probably make them in your image, but would need it to make sense for the code. So like we need organs to survive, the digital life would need to be programmed to not fail as soon as it spawned. So as far as we know, God could exist in a plane of reality beyond our knowing.

@Hank This is an interesting point that I have thought about a lot. My response would be that the universe can't be infinite in time because then I would never exist. Infinity by definition is never ending, so if an infinite amount of time had to pass before I existed, I would never exist.

That little speech from "man" at the end is so powerful, poignant and honest, it encapsulates the "human condition"; not that we are filthy sinners, rather we are animals with a heightened self awareness and a short life span, trying to make sense of our existence.
If I had my way this would be played at every religious gathering the world over; it's honesty would disarm all but the most disingenuous, self interested, religious stiff.

Poor people who can't even differentiate scientific proven fact from fiction make me shake my head, I mean I'm never going to meet them again, and in about 70 years I'll just die, and everything will black out into nothingness. The same will happen for them, but at least in their heads they'll imagine going to some magical land with trillions of other people before they die and it'll put them at ease before they fade to nothingness. This got me to stop believing in Christianity when I first saw it about 10 years ago. (I was in the 10th grade) And nothing else has never made me feel so freed and understood. My coworkers a few years back were all religious types and questioned what made me stop believing and I showed them this. Of course, their denial made them focus on the animation and the occasional juvenile humor. So, they ignored the valid points made and wrote it off as a “dumb cartoon” but, I still come back and enjoy the metaphors and ideas (and the jokes 😂) every time.
It's okay as a human to question your beliefs, and if you were at one point really Christian you would understand that you had the choice to do that, because we are all sinners, but god is good, and that's why your average strawman evangelical shouldn't judge because he is no better because it is the nature of man which includes him. On the other hand supposed logically thinking: mocking theists for believing in God with an absence of evidence no doubt makes you a terrible person as decided by society and philosophy.
I believe in God because I believe that all things point to a higher consciousness, and I believe in Christianity because that religion supports my belief in a lot of ways. I am open minded enough to accept the possibility of there being no God, and I think it should work like that both ways. A theist and an atheist can sit and argue about the little details all day long but I think that it will always boil down to that. Also, that is why you can rationally believe in god and it is immoral to mock someone for that alone and I will always stand firmly about that regardless of my beliefs.

If God was not just the construct of man, I would indeed prefer to go to the imaginary hell with Jeffery than go to heaven with 'god'. What a shame that the Abrahamic God is a collaboration of facts and dates from pagan gods prior to his existence and implausible if logic is used when looking at the details.
