FYI, the reason you got a RWR warning was because you are within the lock cone of the missile. I don’t know how realistic that is, but I see it in Growling Sidewinder videos in DCS as well so I expect it may be realistic.
Can you please show the TV/Camera system in action? Can't even see it in test drive because I cant equip any guided weaponry - I havent grinded it, I was thinking of buying it
Its basic like the base su25, the su17s and mig 2m a very bad targeting system, but luckily you can use your tv guided weapons like pseudo targeting pods for guidance
Laser guided munitions have it similar to Su-25(K), thus without any zoom whatsoever. Installing TV guided ordnance gives much improved zoom which also carries to laser, making them finally functional. 25BM however lacks Autotracker, compared to 25T and 39.
not entirely true. the code is actually surprisingly in-depth on whether a flare fools an IR missile or not; its just that gaijin is too scared to use that code to give any missile any stats better than Stingers, presumably because once missiles come to the game with proper IRCCM to other nations, it's gonna take way more flares to decoy them even from the front aspect. that frustrates players, who are used to flaring R-60/73s or AIM-9s from the front with 1 pop, so for now gaijin decides they dont wanna poke that bear and in turn made the flare resistance be super lackluster.
@@theegunpro4561 ECCM on missiles doesn't work. Gaijin have it there because the missile IRL has it, but in game they won't allow it because then the missile ignores flares more often than not and players whine about an unflarable missile.
In the game you even get a radar warning when you're BEHIND someone who is locking someone in front. Especially annoying with radars which are constantly in ACM mode, like for example the Sabre's. This stuff is broken since months.
@@panzerothelake2178 But not if youre 1 km BEHIND(!!!!!!) someone who is locking someone in the front. I play sim mainly, and in top tier EC matches the RWR is completely useless at the moment because someone is locking something all the time. Its completely broken and ridiculous. This happened iirc 2 patches ago.
Rwr really is broken in that acpect, you get a lock warning even of you are nowhere close to the radar cone. Radars dont work backwards yet in the game you get a warning when a plane in front of you locks a plane that is in front of him. Fox1 missiles like sparrows are broken too, yes they can track planes even if your radar locks on chaff BUT as long as the plane is in the radar cone which is not as big as half of your fov. I hope gaijin foxes that before they add more radar stuff like fox3 amraam and other missiles
@@Tristan.12348 it’s realistic to as it is irl. It’s the same reason why a SARH missile with a CW seeker may go for a different target than the one is locked: it flies within the bounds of your lock cone and if it has a higher Doppler signature (faster closing speed between you and the other aircraft) the missile will track that one. WT had many features that are as they are irl, and they only make sense of you can understand the theory behind how it happens. Just because it may be annoying, it is Physics at the end of the day and physics is definite. I personally find gun dip when stopping with a non stabilized tank annoying when I try to pull off a snapshot, but it’s just as realistic as the rwr described above.
@Tristan.KennedySmith it does make sense. The missile's radar is like a flashlight, and if you're inside the light cone, your RWR assumes you're the one being locked. Once it flies by, or you get outside the cone, the RWR will stop. The radar beam isn't exactly a laser, but a cone of light a few degrees wide to track movement or in case lock is locked, to pick the target back up. Also, its a good reason pilots call their shots. If you hear, "Fox 3" from a teammate and suddenly get a RWR ping from their direction, you can ignore it
In sim its also suicide, as fighter pilots will more than happily go after you anyway. Bomb load is also disappointing, until you get 500kgs at very best you can knock one base and a half with stock 100kgs. Trying to do CAS in Frontline events without TV guided stuff is also pointless, as laser guided missiles have no zoom whatsoever, while AA around those is plenty lethal you don't want to get close.
The RWR isn't broken... It works that way in real life and in DCS as well.. If you are in the path of someone's radar lock, you get the warning too... RWR is not "radar is looking at/locked onto you" it's "detect radar emissions"
Afaik ECCM doesn't work in WT because there's no ECM, technically ECCM doesn't provide flare resistance, that's the IRCCM, the ECCM means the missile has increased resistance against electronic device jamming system, which is similar to the IRCM but also works for radar missiles. Actually maybe the ECCM means the missile won't be affected by IRCM that much and similar countermeasures

u should grind it first to use the TV sight
I did a video on the 25T, that should be similar. Or you could test drive the Ssu 39. I think they all have the same nose camera :)

Can we have TV guided in one of the MFD screens?
ECCM doesn't work in War Thunder. It's just flavor text.
Tf you talking about??
The eccm only try's to negate flares but if the flares are hotter the missile is going to go for the flare

Could you maybe make a video about your settings on simulator
Hi, you should find some in this playlist th-cam.com/play/PLGVLl_EK8LaH3X9smpMM59pwQkKtCrpvt.html
@@CptToastman thank you man
is there a way to zoom out in sim? like dcs.
Yes there is a zoom axis that you can set in the options somewhere.
Im learning sim, but i want to use this plane as a base-ground units destroyer, but i dont know how to, i only play ww2 bombers in sim xd
Good handling of the simulation systems comrade
Thank you. :)
This is how it works in real life Cpt Toastman. If you are in cone of a radar lock you may get radar warning

As @fremenGaming said you don’t have to be the target of a lock come to get rwr warning. Also if your near a plane its rwr can set off yours.
Why tho, it does not make any sense to me and it just stresses you out.
