    Seems to me the over all growth has been built on a patchwork electrical system. It’s was never designed to cope with this setup. It’s just one thing plugged into another. Sounds to me the whole system is reaching breaking point. It’s looks somewhat dangerous in places. The breaker over a jacuzzi, daisy chaining power, rotten plugs live dangling freely exposed outside? I think you ought to get the whole place looked at by professionals. Stay safe, before staying fishy.

    Thanks as always for the honest and forthright video... you and your dad's incredible work ethic, obvious dedication to the Rescue, and willingness to share everything is not only entertaining but a big part of why fans keep coming back each and every week. I've been following OFR for years, and after watching you guys constantly grow, improve AND survive crisis after crisis, I think it's time for an in-depth evaluation of your entire setup. Obviously and unapologetically, the entire system has evolved incrementally over time, and I'm sure you'd agree that there are examples of temporary fixes that have inadvertently become permanent as time passed. Given your skill sets, and in-depth understanding of what's required, I also assume that there are a number of changes you'd make if you could. I think now is the time. Start with the electrical system... do you have a complete and accurate diagram for every line and circuit? Ideally, how many additional lines would you need? How much more power and/or distribution points/panels are required to meet your current needs/future plans? What would an optimized outlet placement plan look like? Extension cords and power strips are OK temporary measures but in mission-critical installations, not the ideal solution. While not easy or inexpensive, for your safety, ease of mind, and the long-term viability of OFR, it's time for some serious planning, sponsor hunting (i.e. Wi-Fi/Bluetooth enabled sensors and diagnostic tools, emergency/uninterruptable power alternatives, etc.) and rerouting of your electrical system to allow for safer/easier inspection, maintenance and modification. I suspect that there are many of us in the community who would love to help. Start fundraising and securing sponsor interest now and plan it all out. OFR has grown so much so fast that no one could have anticipated the needs... but given the sheer volume of fish, tanks, and equipment you are working so hard to manage, it is time to reimagine your entire system and engineer a solution that reduces your workload, reduces the single-points of failure risks and increases your ability to focus on sharing the hobby. Looking forward to whatever comes next!

  • @KevinSmith-xt7gt
    @KevinSmith-xt7gt ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Wish I lived a little closer to you guys. I would have come over and found the issue for you just for a tour 😂. I am a electrician what I teach on this issue is you need to spit the issue. This is especially easy if you take a second to figure out how it’s ran. Pick the approximate middle of the circuit. Disconnect the last half and turn power back on. If problem is gone. Turn power back off and reconnect everything back to original. Go to 3/4’s of the way on the circuit and repeat process. Keep doing this until you narrow down the problem.
    If the problem was still present at the halfway point when you disconnected it the issue is still between break and panel. Turn power off reconnect and go to the 1/4 point of the circuit. You will find this to be the fastest way to find your problem. Make sure power is off and take pics of how things are connected if needed 😂
    That male plug that you showed is called a twist lock receptacles. I am pretty sure if you go to a electrical supply shop you would find one still. We use them here for any load you don’t want to accidentally get unplugged due to vibrations etc.
    have a great day 🙏👍👍
    I hope how I explained it makes sense to everyone. Never tried to explain it in writing. I have just showed people as I was explaining 🙈

    I dont know your systems or set ups of course, but do know you have some flood alarms from other videos you have posted. Can you, or do you have the electrical circuits on an alarm, so if power is lost to one or another it will make an audible noise and perhaps a light to show what circuit tripped? I picture a centralized alert center for this. Between bluetooth, WiFi, and other technologies I would think it could be relatively inexpensive and easy to do compared to the value of the fish both literally and sentimentally.
