    I remember taking off of work with a bunch of friends who also took off of work, went for lunch and went to see the film. It was great, the movie and the experience!

    "Malcolm X" is one of the most complete and educational movies I've ever seen, and I think it's worth noting that I'm a 28-year-old Caucasian male. People can learn a lot from this film!

      @helpoj 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      to really in capture the fullsignificance of this man, you must read the bio.
      btw, watch 12 Years a Slave.

      helpoj From what I hear, the Malcolm X biography, which the Spike Lee film is based on, is an all-time great book! Unfortunately, only so much could be squeezed into a three-hour film and going over that length-of-time would make "Malcolm X" flawed in that it would likely fall victim to over-length. But I honestly can't complain and, again, it's one of the most complete films I've ever seen!
      In regards to "12 Years a Slave," it's on my Watch List.

      True. When they're alive they hate them. When they're gone they praise them. A lot of people hated King and X. I'm from Denmark and the same politicians who called Nelson Mandela a terrorist and condemned him when he was still in prison praised his memory when he passed away.

      +Simon Dilling Christiansen The reason ppl started hating MLK was because he became much more militant after Malcolm X died he realized that he had been the victim of a con game by the government and he started acting more like Malcolm X in the late 60s when he spoke about economic revolution in this country for black ppl.He started speaking about reparations that along with his views on the Vietnam war led to his downfall.Also quiet as its kept white females were the main beneficiaries of the civil rights movement

      +Simon Dilling Christiansen I wonder what those ppl in Denmark thought of Patrice Lumumba after he was murdered by that country along with help from the USA on the date of 1-17-61 when spoke about economic revolution&independence in the Congo

      I can’t imagine the sheer amount of research and dedication that had to go into making this film right. If you are gonna bring a figure as legendary and historically important as Malcolm X to the big screen you cannot mess it up. As someone who read his autobiography the film is remarkably accurate.

      The fix to set Spike up was after he told Warner Brothers that the film was going to be long they assumed that the movie was going to be TWO HOURS but Spike told the studio heads that this film was going to be 4 HOURS before he created the screenplay.

    Thinking about the unity, love and respect that he received from prominent black people was beautiful. It brought proud tears to his eyes because he used Malcolm's philosophy of self-reliance and it worked. I feel you Spike. That's was a beautiful thing, black people pulling together to accomplish something important, and significant.
