I have had a 2006 for about 11 years now. My first bike. It is so good, I will never get rid of it. I own it free and clear, and have put about 16-17000 miles on it.
Thanks for the video Ben! I bought my 07' about 5 years ago. First owned bike, and personally I can't get enough of it! I've put a little over 20k miles on it. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it! Stay safe bro!
sup bro I put 84k on a 919 and liked it so much I bought another one with 5k miles on it and so far have 18k. Nothing was wrong with the bike at 84k, it just made more sense to sell it and buy a bike with less miles than to do the maintenance coming up. (Valve check, cam chain and adjuster were shot, swingarm bearings, all bearings really, etc.) Both were 07s, red. The one with 84k I raced up steep mountains regularly at speeds over 100 mph and it didn't hurt a thing. It would of ran to 200k easy.
I just bought a 2003 about 3 weeks ago. With only 22,250 miles on it. I had new Pirelli tires installed along with some simple suspension adjustments and it does everything right.
enjoyed the video, love the mods. I just found a 2006 919 with only 2400 KM on it from original owner, an old old man that liked to speed around twice a summer .... for $5000 CDN, with Leo Vince exhaust, K&N air system, RIzoma handle bar and grips, signals, tail tidy, carbon fiber covers everywhere, think this was a major steal of a deal. she runs like a charm!!!! . I orignallly had an 1982 CB900F, actually 2 of them, and then an 81 CB900C, love the old bikes and this is like a slightly modernized version. totally in love to a newer level!!!
Congratulations. I picked the same bike with higher mileage. One of the BEST motorcycles I owned, and I owned many. Smooth, powerful and a pullet proof engine only Honda can come up with. I just didn't like the chrome, so I spray-painted the meters and changes the headlight into dual head light like. Pretty happy with it.
Even honda themselves will never engineer a great engine like this ever again. It will be a shame when the 919's are mostly gone. Even the newer goldwings are having engine problems at like 20k miles. Not all of them, but way more than there should be considering the older ones from 2000-2015 will probably do a million miles...
2002 - 2003 900s pros compared to 2004 - 2007: 1) black brake calipers 2) black outer speedometer covers 3) single color engine paint 4) lacking of the low quality tuning system for the front suspensions. they added it in rush after crying kid's demand with few words they get this bike right the first time number 1 rule of 900s never change the original exhausts of this bike or any other original part. #save919
You’re story same as mine. I had an 01 F4i, sold in in 2007 after finishing college thinking I’d get another bike right after. Ended up not getting another bike until 10 years later in 2017. I’ve had my 03 CB 919 for 3 years now. Love the thing! Just a great all around bike
Hello! :D Have same bike and really love it. Except rear pipes... After a ride with passenger, her clothes stink like a hell :D Have you had same problem? Maybe exhaust is too close to passenger... Exhaust is original.
Ruslan Sinkevič hello, this is a well documented issue with the 919. My 919 never had this problem with both the stock exhausts and Dan motos I added, but for some reason some 919s have the stink no matter what. Some suspect could be lower gas quality, others reported improvement by changing exhausts system. Visit wristtwisters dot com, there are numerous threads about it. Search “exhaust stink”
damn I just bought the same bike for $3500 but mine had like 47k miles. BUT it's in crazy good condition according to my mechanic friend I took with me to look at it. My first bike and I have a feeling I'll be happy with it for a long time.
Got new Delk exhaust for mine and plan to swap to it soon. I like how the stock exhaust looks and I thought long and hard about cutting the baffles out. Problem is that the tip is a weird diameter so finding silencer inserts that would just install out of the box is not really a thing so Ill keep the oem around and try out the delks with the silencer inserts in first, might try them later with the inserts out. Dont want it super loud, it just is that the stockers are litterally whisper quiet, but the induction growl on these is pretty sweet when you go full send and it snarls its so good.
A little late to the part... but.. Yup, great bike - that's why I got 2 of them - but twins are expensive to bring up together! That being said, I'd overhaul the forks, complete clean w/new seals and oil. Also, same goes with the DOT4. Even though you say the rear indicators are brighter than the camera shows, I'd consider separate indicators in conjuntion with an integrated rear light - just my 2cents worth here. You got a nice bike. Nimble, powerful, easy to maintain (pls consider a centerstand!) and a very proud looking machine. PS.... if you're considering the indicator "upgrade", you'd might enjoy the Oberon Performance Mini LEDs (silver for front, black for the rear) Safe trails
I have the same bike with the same darn seat and 2 bothers pipes! I put the seat on it myself and it was around $500 plus. Other than that mine is stock lights, mirrors etc. are all stock on mine though. Great Bikes!
You know something hilarious i found this video because i think i want one i started on a 1979 honda cx500 and i want the same ride style but more power and fuel injected just like you and .... we have the same helmet
Hello there! I love that bike, got one about a year ago. But I have a little problem with damn pipes :D Passenger's clothes stink after a ride. No problem with an engine, original exhaust...
I’m 5’8 on the dot and can nearly flatfoot it. Just a little tough when trying to back up when sitting on it. I think you’ll have no issue in terms of height of this bike.
I can't stand those aftermarket Corbin seats. See how cupped the seat shape is? It's like sitting in a tight little soup bowl that your hip bones are locked into. It's like you're vacuum-sucked in place. Think Darth Vader's helmet ;) I much prefer the stock, flat, wide Honda seats. With the stock seats you can move around forward-to-back for comfort purposes, you can move side-to-side for cornering purposes, and ventilation of your butt skin is better too.
07 919 with 8 k miles only .. blasphemy !! bike is made to be rode !! .. made me laugh tho with the "honda oil" :D Turn signals .. 1005 sure those sadly wouldnt be legal here in Denmark
King Murphy that’s what is called a difference of opinion. I disagree, I love the classic styling of the 919. But if you like the FZ6R, go for it. BTW: in this video I was talking about the FZ6, not the fz6r. The R looks good, but the FZ6 is ugly IMO.

Nice
How long do you projecting it lasting in terms of mileage if it’s well maintained? I have an 07 with 31k.
@@spookylukey97 prob 160 k miles .. if u take care of it ofc
These bikes are so beautiful and sounds good as well.

Had one for about 4 years great bike not one problem only replaced battery that whole time I put a Sato exhaust and put lower handlebars
That's about what mine looked like when I 1st got it, I added a few "character" marks over the years :D
That seat makes it look so much better.
Thats not a "little bike".
The FZ6 is an awsome bike as far as 600's go. And the fairing really helps out on the highway
I like the FZ6, but I'm not a fan of the powerband, the 1000 is too much. Wish they'd bring back the 800 with closer to 130 horsepower.
Got new Delk exhaust for mine and plan to swap to it soon. I like how the stock exhaust looks and I thought long and hard about cutting the baffles out.

What a smart buy, bud!! Def, the best choice.🍻
Awesome video, I roll an 07 919 myself.
These bikes are still cool looking.
I do prefer the squared off tail on the CB400SF, but that's just a minor thing.
Greatest bike ever.
it's amazing you motorcycle congrats and thanks for upload videos them. i buy smililar model the next year. Greetings from Mexico.
You got that for $3k? That's a steal
Start it up mate!

I like my 2002 way better than my buddies 04 cbr1000rr. Way more comfortable
Looking at this style bike!
Do you still have the bike?
Sweet bike. I’m looking at one of these and am concerned about the seat height. I’m 5’7” tall or 170 cm.
How tall are you?
I’m 5’8 on the dot and can nearly flatfoot it. Just a little tough when trying to back up when sitting on it.

bike should be pretty perfect for you then .. seat hight is 31 inches i believe
