As an addict myself.... this album saved me for many years. Still struggling, but Danny has a unique rap energy that can make me laugh, cry, and think about some very dark topics.
Also an addict. It's nice to hear someone talk about it, but not just in a group meeting sort of way. His creativity is what helps make his message shine through. Like, when he talks about still being drunk from last night and getting a bloody mary-yeah, I get it, and I'd hear that in a meeting. But "Everybody says, 'You got a lot to be proud of.' Been high this whole time, don't realize what I've done," is such a relatable line that I don't hear as often. There are more and better examples, but you get my point. And then, the dark thoughts, the moments you give yourself away and say, "fuck it..." I feel all of this is embodied in the instrumentation. I always liked weird music, but after becoming an addict, that sharp, abrasive music... idk, drowns out(?) or something, it feels like a cop-out. There's comfort in the chaos. For those reasons, this will be an all-time favorite album for me.
@@anochi8965 sure you could say this is art and have your own opinion but come on. This album is extremely overrated and I honestly don’t get how people could bear to like this album

This album always hit hard for me, and I could relate to a lot of the issues of mental health on this album, but after dealing with drug addiction personally this album hits even harder. It’s like almost too relatable from the first few lines. It’s hard for me to listen to know because I feel everything he’s saying deep in my soul. I remember the cabin fever of being stuck in my room for a couple days but being to paranoid to leave it. Staying up for days snorting coke, meth and god knows what. One of the greatest rap albums of all time for me personally. Probably the best depiction of addiction and how it tears you and the people you love apart.

Would love to see a React to "Songs of Her's" by Her's. Feel like the appreciation for the indie sound before it really took off would be incredible. Especially since the band is no longer with us.
Omg you’re teasing me again with a clipping record hidden in the background! Halloween’s coming, could it finally be the month y’all listen to clipping!? 🙏🏼
Was really looking forward to this one! Now I'm looking forward to xxx...
Love this album. Hope you guys are well. I appreciate the content xx
As ya'll dive into more experimental hip hop, I would highly recommend Injury Reserve. The earlier albums are a bit more accessible, but "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" is incredible and cutting edge for sure.
SECOND THIS
EASILY TOP TEN RECORDS OF THE LAST DECADE
I love Ain't It Funny! Danny Brown's voice DID put me off at first, but then i found myself muttering his music under my breath, until I realized how INTERESTING he is. NOW, play DNA, also by Danny Brown. It sounds COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, like completely not this Atrocity Exhibition Danny Brown, yet is still one of my all time favorite songs. Sincerely, check out DNA.
I just got power back from Hurricane Ian in FL and seeing this in my feed was amazing
God this album blew my mind when I first heard it
I will never ever forget when I first played this album. Bought the cd and made a long road trip in the night. Singular experience.

Accidentally refreshed my page and saw this, can’t wait to see what he thinks!
Danny Brown and his collective, Bruiser Brigade, are definitely something to keep an eye on. Highly recommend checking out their albums.

Oh my god I was so excited as soon as I saw this noti
Just for the record, Danny is now 42 years old (35 at the time of the album release) lol, but yeah, he seems to be a youthful person. Great reaction, I love this album.
I've been waiting for this my whole damn life lol
I really wish you showed your dad the video for ain’t it funny, probably one the best videos i’ve ever seen
I love this album. Tell Me What I Don’t Know sounds like John Carpenter made a rap song.
