On many modern cars is not that easy. Millage is stored in many of the cars ecu,s But if your a advanced technician your able to change in all the ecu,s and it will therefore be almost impossible to know the original mileage
@@dizk5283 since it’s illegal to sell a vehicle with odometer fraud where I live I went FBI mode and tracked down where the vehicle was sold ends up seller bought it from an auction I got proof of the real KM and texted him threatening to sue him so eventually he replied so let’s hope I get my money back this weekend 😭🙃
Whenever I looked at what was supposed to be a low mileage 2008 Suburban Z71, I checked out the pictures and there was a rip in the seat which could mean that that Suburban had 200k miles instead of 85k and I also checked the reviews of the seller and one person said that the seller couldn’t provide the VIN Number for the Suburban and that is a huge red flag because if the person is trying to sell a “low mileage” vehicle and they don’t provide the VIN Number, that usually means that this person is trying to hide the fact that he rolled back the odometer
Oh yes it is. Another trick they do is buy the instrument panel at a any junk yard. From the same vehicle. What ever miles was on thst pansl now reads that in the switched panal car. Very simple to do. I know this as a fact. Because a car dealer told me they do that. Of course he was accusing the competition . .

Just happened to me on a 2004 Acura MDX … was listed at 250000km and found out it is over 400000km and now I’m out 3500 dollars :’)
Holy Crap I'm so sorry dude. You can find the guy? The one who sold you the car?

Especially on salvage vehicles
