Great rare footage. They didnt use color film much in 1940. So this color footage is priceless. Its amazing how they mounted the cameras to catch all the action at the right time! What even more amazing is the color film is not faded in the least!
As a previous IL2 Film maker (2005-08) i have got to say i think this is very good action / music video. Camera works and after effects top draw, and i thought the music was just right with the action. Realy well done, only wish i had the game engine back in 2005! Montydan
The quality of this video is amazing. Looks more like a spielberg blockbuster than a flight sim machinima! Thank you Barfly for making this wonderful piece of art! :)
This is amazingly good. There were no instances of where ME110s successfully penetrated our air defence networks and attacked RAF stations as seen here. But that doesn't detract from what looks terrific. The choice of music is inspired! Can you make more like this please! 10/10!
Hi Barfly AWESOME Graphics settings are perfect, just like watching a real Movie. You've done it again Buddy this is up there with Battle of Britain v2.0 in regards to Production and editing. Another Masterpiece, keep em coming 10\10 Respect Keith :-D
I wanted to play this game so bad but it simply doesn't work on my PC. After messing with it for three long, frustrating days I deleted it from my machine and stuffed the disk in the closet. Barfly, you made a GREAT video! Thanks for sharing.
I grew up playing Spitfire 40 and Dambusters on a C64. Once I was out of my teens I lost touch with games. I'm blown away with how incredibly real these games look, simply incredible.
i watched this many times ,i think its a wicked tribute to all those brave airmen who fought for this country and the music fits perfectly, well cool :-)
Awesome vid! Speechless. I know the music very well from RTW, strange to hear it in this setting, I kept looking for Roman legions marching on the ground, lol
Nice work! I like your WWII fighters movie very much, keep up the good job. The soundtrack just fit the movie nicely, I would like it better if sound effect is enabled.
G'day, No the furthest I got was to 4.11.1. I shall try sometime in the future but at the moment both 1946 and Cliffs of Dover seem to run fine. I see that the crew who brought 'Rise of Flight' are now revamping Il2 with their 'Battle of Stalingrad' edition so looking forward to that one coming along.
@JonPL You generally don't dodge in air combat. You either see him coming and get out of the way long before he can get a shot off or you don't see him coming and the first you know about it is when your plane gets turned into swiss cheese.
Thats a first class video! Very nice choice of music too! but how did you do the shakey camera shots? I have been movie making with IL2 1946 and use the Pat mod. But how can you do that for Cliffs of Dover? id love to know as I have it and want to start using it for Movie making. Keep up the good work there Barfly!!
The only thing lacking on my end is my connection, but my system is pretty good. The only downer I can see with CoD is the limited scope covered, especially when compared to '46. I'll be missing my MC202s, Corsairs, and Tempests. Still, early 109s and Hurris? I think I saw it on amazon for $10, I'll have to grab it knowing they sorted the performance.
If you want perfection, then no, it is not ready yet. If you have a decent rig and some patience then it can be a really enjoyable way to spend a few hours. I can't fly or shoot well at all, and I still love it. It will only be improved by mods in the future.
@yam83 There isn't a single JU88 in the entire clip here. As an English aviation artist and former RAF officer, I think I'm a bit more clued-up on Luftwaffe aircraft than that old son!
Then what is it according to you? Because I play this game too and it does look like this. Some editing has been done but very minor for cinematic reason like the pilots movements, but all the other stuff is actual in game footage. Me and my friends are enjoying CoD very much, I do agree you need a very powerful PC to run it on but the same thing was the case when IL2 Sturmovik was released.
I'm seeing more and more videos of Clod. I'm really glad the game is actually coming together after it's very disappointing release. I can't wait when the online campaigns start happening.
2020, saw these when I was younger, still better than what Hollywood does.
me too
Me three
Yeeees! I remember I used to watch these when i was younger in 2012. I guess nostalgia brought me back. Hello from 2020!!!
Still watching this vid!
BRUUUUUUH SAMEEEEE
Hello from 2024!!!
Great rare footage. They didnt use color film much in 1940. So this color footage is priceless. Its amazing how they mounted the cameras to catch all the action at the right time! What even more amazing is the color film is not faded in the least!
BEAUTIFUL
Amazing Graphics and Barfly has done an Fantastic job
with the overall Production especially the Pilot
Animation using Poser Pro July 2011.

Watch this while i was a kid, i always search the day albert but i was wrong HAHAHA, Nostalgic

Bloody brilliant, the graphics just keep getting better. I would be very worried if I was a movie star these days. Great soundtack also.
I love IL-2 Siries and I love Rome Total War! This video? Its a full package of my beloved gaming!! Amazing and bravo!!
Fantastic, my oh my, it really gets the blood pumping! Thank you for the hard work and dedication.
Excellent timing in conjunction with the soundtrack!
Sierra-Hotel! A well done movie, and I espcially like that Barfly refrained from that obnoxious flashing/strobe effect.
First time I have heard this soundtrack outside the Total War game, and it just suits perfectly to this epic film you have made! Both thumbs up!
just tooo cool , keep it up , you guys just get better an better
That was indeed epic. Great music choice too.
Awesome action! Score works as well. Well done!
Hi Barfly

THE GRAPHICS ARE SO AMAZING!
Nice video
Excellent ! Amazing ! Fantastic ! Thank you.
I've seen at least one other Cliffs of Dover film by you. You do excellent work.
I wanted to play this game so bad but it simply doesn't work on my PC. After messing with it for three long, frustrating days I deleted it from my machine and stuffed the disk in the closet.
Barfly, you made a GREAT video! Thanks for sharing.
Nicely done. Extremely immersive.
I grew up playing Spitfire 40 and Dambusters on a C64. Once I was out of my teens I lost touch with games. I'm blown away with how incredibly real these games look, simply incredible.

Splendid! VERY nicely done!
Fantastic graphics!
Best Wishes from.....Err.....England. 😊

Amazing Work!
Fantastic!!.well done.very impressed.
Battle of Britain (the film) is so awesome!
Awesome vid! Speechless. I know the music very well from RTW, strange to hear it in this setting, I kept looking for Roman legions marching on the ground, lol
Holy mother of god !! that is an amazing footage !! Love it ! ;-)
Great stuff. The Battle of Britain was all about the American flyboys in action.
Awesome Vid - Thumbs up!
i wish the Sound ingame is like the fly by from the hurricane at end...
Nice work! I like your WWII fighters movie very much, keep up the good job. The soundtrack just fit the movie nicely, I would like it better if sound effect is enabled.
pretty nice shots on this vid! Awesome!
such a beautiful clip, I 'm so lucky I can live in this era of simulation. i start my flight simulation from FS5. what a development.
Execlent production and music to match. I heard an angry merlin at the end.
Nice work!!!
Very good film. Good music score. It's all good!!
Fantastic vid-clip !
CloD just looks stunning. I play IL-2 1946 atm. But i look forward to getting a PC that runs this game.
This movie is awesome! I hope that IL-2 CoD would have an expansion for pacific theater soon enough

Great job!!
Yeah, the usage of the RTW selections really does fit well. More and more I want this sim despite it probably not even coming close to replacing '46.
Great Video !
Sure do like that bloody music
impresionante..sin palabras..un 10 sobre 5!!!.
Por cierto, que grafica usas??
An awesome video, I miss this game!
what's the song? its perfect
you're good, sir! keep 'em coming!
In a bf110&stuka what would you rather be the pilot or the rear gunner
SUPERB!!! .. but were you allowed to use Rome Total Wars sound track ????
also what movie programs are you using i use fraps and windows movie maker but would something with a little more edge
Amazing!
If you buy a hard copy from amazon for instance does it include the patches or do you have to manual look and download them?
That was great!
amazing work. congrats
Well made!
Wow this is epic!
pilot cimatic ect are they already in poser or built by yourself (the characters not the animations i mean
Amazing job! :)
Nice, I had no idea the character detail was so good in CloD.
Outstanding video, congrats! :)
@JonPL You generally don't dodge in air combat. You either see him coming and get out of the way long before he can get a shot off or you don't see him coming and the first you know about it is when your plane gets turned into swiss cheese.
It actually is a Do 17.You can tell them apart by the wing tips, the Dornier has round wing tips .Something I didnt know 8 months ago :)
Nice Visual!
Thats a really cool video
Wohoo! I love the fucking combination of the music and the video! I love the shaky image as the Junker fly past by the camera! Damn!!
what type of ju-88 are those?
Thats a first class video! Very nice choice of music too! but how did you do the shakey camera shots? I have been movie making with IL2 1946 and use the Pat mod. Super film!!!Bardzo realistyczny.

Thanks, if the game worth buying?
Were those Hurricanes in that last scene?
Are the graphics on this game really that good? I have most of the best flight sims etc, but not got this one yet.
awesome!
Masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Aviationartist01 You're right. I have to have my eyesight checked. The amount of bombs those Bf 110s dropped confused me, though.
Have you tried the free HFSX mod for IL2 1946? It makes IL2 1946 an awsome game and it runs smooth as silk.
you haz steam?
Usually in that kind of production music is better than picture. Congratulation....since now I'm afraid to touch that record button...
No matter how you edit it, we both know who won the Battle of Britain!
How does this make it look like the RAF didn't win?
If you want perfection, then no, it is not ready yet. If you have a decent rig and some patience then it can be a really enjoyable way to spend a few hours. I can't fly or shoot well at all, and I still love it. It will only be improved by mods in the future.
music from rome total war?
@yam83 There isn't a single JU88 in the entire clip here. As an English aviation artist and former RAF officer, I think I'm a bit more clued-up on Luftwaffe aircraft than that old son!
Epic movies made at home. WW2 all over again? VGJ!
@rOEN911
Hi rOEN911
this is by Barfly using Poser Pro July 2011
who is the creator of this? I want to ask him about the 3D pilot that he used
super job
Hell yeah!
Is this sim ready for prime time now ?
Then what is it according to you? Because I play this game too and it does look like this. Some editing has been done but very minor for cinematic reason like the pilots movements, but all the other stuff is actual in game footage.
Me and my friends are enjoying CoD very much, I do agree you need a very powerful PC to run it on but the same thing was the case when IL2 Sturmovik was released.
It runs great now after the Team Fusion patches
" Achtung ! SPITFIRE !! "
Great!
Amazing
