What Does Luck Level 1000 Look Like? - Stardew Valley

- Today I increase my luck to level 1000+ to see what effect if has on everything. Results vary. I always try to play the game with the most luck possible because it just helps everything. More treasure chests fishing, more crops when harvesting, more ladders and everything while mining and the list goes on. Stardew Valley gameplay with my commentary as always!

When you find out luck also affects how much wood you get from trees and pretty much anything you think on doing: "Guess I'll just die"

the interesting thing I found out using the "tool geodes" mod, if you use a tigers eye gem with your pick using this mod, you are able to see what a rock will give you before you mine it, an interesting thing that happens is as soon as you mine a ladder, all the other stones that where giving you ladders then give you something else. so it could be that your luck is so high that every stone will give you a ladder, but as soon as you mine a ladder the game says, ok, you got a ladder now we don't need to give you another one. other things like slaying monsters and mining a lot of stones will also switch up what the stones give you, which is why you can get more than one ladder, but not have every rock be a ladder.

the ladder algorithm roughly says, more luck=higher starting chance of finding a ladder in a rock, but at the same time the additional amount of luck gathered by breaking rocks is reduced. for example: you have 100 rocks on a floor and you have like 3 luck or so, your starting chance is like 20% and increases by 0.8 every rock (I'm not good at math) so that it adds up to 100% on every floor. if you have less luck however, your starting chance is 0% or so and you get +1% every time you break a rock. hope that wasn't too difficult to understand

Hey, DF. In the future, could you remember to turn off the flash effects if you're going to use bombs? I have problems with seizures, and all the flashes in this video were starting to set it off (I had to watch most of the video in the comments). Thanks. ☺️
Wouldn't it make more sense to ask this question to video card manufacterers or TH-cam? A video driver can detect an incoming flash, so it could also mitigate that.
Video editing software could also do it, but that's more complicated when life-streaming.

@@SeedlingNL There's actually a single setting in Stardew Valley in the options tab that lets you choose whether those flash effects are on. That's why I asked. Getting TH-cam to make any differences is like asking a wall to breakdance, at this point. :)
Eh, obviously I don't speak for him, but I think expecting anyone to turn off a default setting for an extreme minority of viewers is a bit silly. If it were me and someone asked me to do that, I'd at best put some kind of text warning on the screen in the future, but wouldn't turn it off.
@@virunusgaming8455 It's a medical condition which is far more common than you'd realise. It's quite a dangerous thing, and I don't think it's an issue of a minority of viewers. It's a simple setting which would help people enjoy his content. :)

Df. I think I am the luckiest stardew valley player ever. Recently I had just unlocked the quarry towards the end if year 1. I hadn't reached the bottom of the mines yet andscince I had never been to the quarry before I knew there would be plenty of ores and gems. So far I had been pretty lucky, I found a diamond and quite a few rubies. There was one iridium node I hadn't noticed until I was making my way out. I broke it and out popped a prismatic shard. I imidiantly unlocked the desert and got the galaxy sword and I blazed through the rest of the mines.
The quarry is always stacked when you first unlock it, but that prismatic shard was pretty lucky
As I just started to play on the Switch, I can‘t use any mods but when I pulled out an iridium band out of a fishing chest, it nearly felt like I had 1000 Luck 😂😂
in the mines once you find a ladder, ladders from breaking stones will stop spawning.

I found 2 ladders in two different rocks in a floor
ive gotten 10 ladders on one floor. 7 of them from rocks, one in the open, and two from kills.

Beraxcce Xiii I've also had two of them on the same day. They were 10 or 20 floors apart. I believe the one with green lanterns was deeper (like floor 118) and the second one was higher (like 88).

Nah, I beat it without dying and I can assure you that luck doesn't affect the game
I could be wrong, but I believe luck affects how often coins and power ups spawn, and what value the coin is. Higher luck means more 5 value coins, but less means more 1 value coins/no coins.
Edit: I looked it up, I’m wrong. The wiki states, “Random elements of the game are NOT affected by luck.”

The stardrop is actually more common than both the diamonds and the cherries on the slot machine. You just got unlucky.
If you check how many sliver quality coffee beans there are there’s 666 sliver coffee beans

No amount of luck can replace the joy I felt when DF got the first triple diamond slots.
I had a glitch with the tractor mod (tried with horse but it didnt work),
1. go with the tractor to an area with slimes
2. get the slowness debuff
3. jump of the tractor and wait till the debuff wears off.
i got super speed way faster than coffee (while riding on a horse) and i think this has a lot of potential, it acts really weird since if you go in a chest or use any tool it cancels after a while of walking around. i believe this would be very... interesting for a video.
People used to abused a bug like that. No mod required. You just have to get slowed by the slime in the last second of your coffee buff.. Then you will be super speed after the slowed-debuff wear off. It has something to do with the game's speed calculation not following up the coffee speed buff wearing off in the last second. Making the game giving you a higher than normal coffee speed buff that are suppose to work against the slowness debuff while not registering the coffee debuff wearing off in the next second. And somehow the game neither register the speed buff should end when the slowed-debuff wearing off later resulting in you having super speed. It is fixed now, but the tractor mod might suffer same kind of issue with the speed calculation causing this problem.
You can perform the same bug to a much greater effect:
Get slowed by a slime, and while slowed, drink a coffee.
You'll keep your super speed as long as you have any kind of speed buff on, including ones from food.
With that luck you might even be able to pull Jalter

What’s really funny to me is that I actually spun the stardrops today when I was playing I don’t even think I had max luck that day.
I actually got three stardrops on the casino slots in like the 3rd time i rolled them on my first playthrough, and now that i see this video i realise how lucky i was

I don't know if you know this DF, but luck affects the items you get when you break open geodes. If you have really good luck, you will find more rare and valuable things like iridium ore and prismatic shards. I would like to see what you get with luck at 1000.
This is untrue. What you get from geodes is hardcoded by the game seed, so it can't be affected by luck. There are even tools that allow you to predict what your next geode will yield and it doesn't change with luck.

I hit the stardrops in the casino on my third bet on my first visit. I didn’t realize how rare it is to do so until now. 😅
How about the minigame? How easy would Fector's Challenge be with that high luck? (It supposedly increases your item drop rate)
I find with the mod that unhides the luck skill and makes you able to lvl it gives more than just making it lvl 1000 on my current playthrough when in the mines every 5 rocks is guaranteed a ladder on average (meaning sometimes i get multiple in a row and alternatively none for a while) my luck is lvl 6 atm and fortune teller still has varying luck dialogues and still says bad luck sometimes I find on the days it says good luck (when normally it would be max naturally) are the days I keep finding ladders and such consecutively. Also almost only iridium quality fish. I guess it stacks so I guess I get double perfect luck instead of the lvls themselves stacking.

the luck is probably applied after waking up, because its a buff. so it wouldn't have a influence on Trashcans and such

I've been recently hitting a bug where slimes will sometimes have a heart and another with an exclaimation point over their heads at the same time where a star would normally be. They do disappear on their own, and attacking them with those icons over their heads results in a crash that freaks out my xbox controller's vibrator. Only way to fix that is to unplug the controller.
Probably also worth noting that I have 0 mods for this game.

Dude, actually I got 3 stardrops in the cassino's Jackpot, I had full luck tho, lucky lunch, best luck day and one ring of luck. It took me 50attempts and I only bought chips 2 times and kept betting 100 and winning.

I think the greatest luck I've seen is a friend got 3 prismatic shards in the first 20 floors in spring year 1.
Odds are someone's I luckyier day just because of the sheer amount of days that have happened
Say for example someone could get a dinosaur egg accidentally threw it away in the mines because they ran out of space.
But then they find two more.
