There are no words to adequately describe the brilliance of this film. The acting, writing and direction are exemplary. I’ve seen many 100s of short gay films, but none that have moved me as this. I WANT MORE. BRAVO
Thank you so much!
@@RocketBadgerProductions You are destined for the big screen. You have shown we have much to learn about the human experience. Looking forward to your next project! Be well
That was gorgeous. And in theses times lately, the ending sentiment was one I need to hold onto and hope enough people do too that we can be strong for each other. I need more of this. Thank you.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. We have a beautiful and strong community and we’ll always get through tough times 🫶
I enjoyed this movie very much. The ending 🤯
What a wonderful film. The acting, the writing, the set......mesmerizing. As an out Anglican priest and a gay man this film is a sermon it itself. It says it all. Love is the only thing. The rest is commentary. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful deep short film, performed with such a heartfelt delivery. Brilliantly acted.👌
Our actors were incredible!
As has already been stated - it's all there: The writing, directing, production, acting. Without a doubt one of the most powerful and soul-stirring short films I have ever had the pleasure to watch. Bravo to cast and crew - bravo, indeed..!
Thank you so much 🙏
Both the Russian and Bulgarian Judges gave this performance 10's
A beautiful story. Especially as a psychologist, I know that some people can resolve two ideas that can conflict and even contradict each other, that is, resolve through a way of thinking them through. Actually, most normal people can do it. In this case, these guys can take the good from their religion (which is basically a message of loving acceptance) and still be loving and accepting of themselves, each other, and others, too. It's actually the point of the video and the hope. All people believe things because they want to believe them. Some people want to believe something because there is also independent, objective and material evidence for believing it. It take courage and a truly loving way to face people who believe in things only because they want to (disregarding any lack of evidence). There's the challenge. It can be a form of "agree to disagree" with some people, except those people who are totally rigid and rejecting of people who don't agree with them. There can still be a loving way toward those people but probably with keeping a safe distance.
I couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching and sharing your insights ☺️
Excellent film, and I'm an atheist. The actors and scenery, lighting, everything was well done. Beautiful!
Thank you 🙏
What a brilliant film. The dialogue sounds so real, it's hard to believe it was written. Let's hope for a sequel!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah! ...the've been going together for decades and have been considering loving matrimony....sorry, just my fantasy.
@@rubenharo2221 ❤️
What an inspirational film! You are destined to pursue a filming career. The dialogue between Billy and Lucas was so raw and real. I would like to see more from you. Outstanding short film. A must see for anyone who is struggling between religion and being his or her true self.
Thank you for your kind words 🙏 I’m glad you enjoyed it
Glad I came across this. Everything just gels! The writing, story, the two guys connecting. Brilliant and powerful. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 🙏
Oh wow! What a great short film! We MUST see more of these two - they're so damn right together. Please continue the story of Lucas & Billy! The acting and production is top-notch! You've started something very special here - please let it continueb😀Craig - Australia
Thank you so much 😊
What a beautiful film and story. It left me longing for more.
Thank you! ☺️
the important thing is to metabolize the pain that homophobia gives in two phases. the first is to get angry and not get depressed, not close down. the second is to let this anger out through sport, work, hobbies and by talking about it with friends, LGBT associations, anyone who will listen. deal with the pain by turning it into a ball of anger and then throwing the ball away. have a good life everyone.
Well said!
The acting was really wonderful. ❤
We have been so lucky to find Kyle and Rich for this project! They are brilliant!
The biggest problem is to be stuck in bisexuality as a label, when in reality is gay. Religion forces many to cover under bisexuality to not be chasted by the people around. Great film, great acting, and good lesson to be learned....
And this is how a community is created …. One person at a time .
God bless us all ….

I’m grateful to have come across this incredible movie. It was deeper than anything I’ve seen before, and the subject was treated with such respect. I truly admire this work and hope that everyone can find answers to their prayers and the person they are meant to be with.
Thank you so much for you kind words 🙏
The power of communicating and sharing was beautifully portrayed here. No action sequences; just dialogue and body language to get the message across. One hand connecting with another is a gesture more powerful than a love scene. Connecting, accepting, affirming . . . two lives changed and a bond created.
Thank you 🙏
Beautifully said.
This one is your masterpiece, and I've enjoyed all your films. Keep this up mate. You have an amazing gift!
Thank you ☺️
Whoever you are, Katie Parker, thank you! I Cor 13 is my favorite book of the Bible, and precisely because of what you have portrayed here. Poignant and hopeful at the same time. Exquisitely done!
Thank you so much! I’m glad we could include it in this context ☺️
Well, Leviticus 20:13 is a bit awkward.
🤣 lots of the bible is but we take the love and leave the rest! It’s definitely outdated but there’s a lot of beauty to be found in there too - the point is that we can choose
@@RocketBadgerProductions Yes, you could read it just like a book of verse, however the nastiness directed at women and gay people can't be ignored. People use it to persecute gay people to this day. It's like chickens for KFC. I'd rather read Shakespeare.
Same here, OMG!
I agree with so many of the comments below! I was so moved. I'm in tears. It expressed so much of what I feel inside.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it
I beleive this to be the most breautiful film I've ever seen. Thank you so much!
Wow! Thank you!
Brilliant! Understated and radiating warmth and acceptance! So important for anyone who is wrestling with their faith and their identity.💐💐💐💐💐❤❤❤❤❤❤

This short film was absolutely amazing! Kudos for sharing such a delicate yet engagingly beautiful story. Light and Love To You 💙✨
Thank you so much! Light and love to you too ☺️🫶
Really beautiful - awesome script, beautifully delivered. Felt so genuine.
Thank you!
This is a brilliant short film, it resonates with me , knowing the battle for accetance and the internal struggle with the mind. I'm so glad I watched this. Like those who have already commented. Brilliantly executed, raw, emotion and great acting from the two characters . Well written and well done Katie Parker👏👏👏
I’m glad it spoke to you! Thank you so much!
Beautiful film. And well done. Sensitive.

Well done to you all! Beautiful short film!

Outstanding presentation !!!
Well done !!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Kyle Brookes is a cutie. Both actors did a great job of expressing emotional depth and angst, but I couldn't take my eyes away from Kyle 😍
Right! !!!
Have you seen him in Once a Year On Blackpool Sands (2018)?
Beautifully presented piece of wonderful work. Congratulations all involved. Really emotional viewing. X

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Simply can't have words to describe the depth. Sometimes it's just hope again in heart & love ❤
Absolutely 🫶 Thanks for watching!
...... silently touching and beautiful! 🙏

My relationship with God is one of the purest and truest love. I know I’m accepted as I am, because I was made in God’s image, and no mistakes made in God’s process! However, I have prayed many times for some mortal man to love me, and that I can love fully. Unfortunately, I’ve only met cheaters, liars, users, and deceivers. I’ve had my heart broken more times than should have, but I still have hope!!!!
Two years ago, I took in a stray cat, who actually adopted me! Because I never knew what she had been previously named, I gave her the name, Hope, as she came into my life when I was at my darkest! Hope was my reason to continue!!!!
Thank you for giving me another reason to hope … that one day, God will also bestow upon me the gift of loving my God-sent mortal man! ❤
That’s beautiful 🩵 I’m glad you enjoyed it
It's so sad that religion continues to destroy gay men's lives! They target one sin and ignore the others like adultery that most people commit on a daily basis 😂
Exactly! At the end of the day “love thy neighbour” is all we need ✌️
Beautiful work, it is different of what we usually see, so deep and encouraging !
Thank you very much!
is a short film of rare power. dialogues lead to reflection. it's beautiful, introspective, the actors extremely good. Spendo due parole anche in italiano: è un cortometraggio che merita davvero di essere visto. Bello, profondo e con un vero respiro di speranza. Complimenti.
Grazie mille ❤️ I’m glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Ben detto!!!
Awesome short film!
You should make the second part. Or even a serie!
Thanks!
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love”
Faith brought them together, HOPE ignited their friendship. Love abided between them...is my hope.
I've fallen in love with this film-with the narrative, the characters, and the actors. I wish them the best for both. My love and respect.
I just had to comment again. It is an irony: the God they think disapproves of them, brought them together in the most endearing way. The Highest watched them with all the Love and Compassion, celebrating their reunion. What a sense of humor.
Thanks again, Katie!!
Beautiful words! Thank you ☺️
@@RocketBadgerProductions A pleasure.

Incredible! I could swear one of them was going to be the priest.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!
I learned a long time ago that when real & true love is matched, nothing is more powerful. I love my husband eternally.
That’s beautiful ❤️
Absolutely beautiful! For so long I swore I was an atheist because of the homophobia in the church but now I claim my space with the god of my understanding. Never let the haters keep you from spirituality, find your god.

Wow - very enjoyable and well done Katie Parker - 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks so much! 😊
This is a journey of reflection in the most unlikeliest of places for two men. Whether by happenstance, fate, or divine intervention, they found each other. I am not a religious individual but the beauty of the discovery inside a church cannot be overlook. Perhaps, if there is a God, the story is correct. He or She or It might be way to busy to worry about who we fall in love with.
Tearful. So well done
Thank you ☺️
Powerful and loving. Thank you.
Thank you 🙏
This is a good short film

BEAUTIFUL !!!
🙏
Simply beautiful, meaningful & powerful short film
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it ☺️
All involved should be very proud. That was a beautiful script, spoken beautifully, even if the likelihood of that happening is slim to none. It's unfortunate that most of us process things in a binary way when life just isn't binary, so little is black and white. It's comforting to spend time with people who understand that, especially when it's not expected. Great film.
Thank you ☺️
This was fantastic.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
This was an absolutely beautiful movie. Well written, well directed, well executed by the actors. Even before 1 Corinthians 13 was quoted I was bawling my eyes out. I could not allow myself to come out as gay until I knew that God loves and accepts me for who I am. So this movie resonated with me very strongly.
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it ☺️
loved it!!!❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

A Most Beautiful and Engaging Film. I have to say that my own experience with Therapy was poor at best. What got me through to the other side were my Friends. Opening up to them was a very powerful experience. Bless them. ALSO, a Question for the Director: I am curious as to the church you used, where is it? I know that's not exactly what the film is about, but although I am far from a religious person, I do like to visit churches when no services are being held. The calm and quietude in churches, along with art and architecture are extremely meaningful to me. Anywho, Thanks for this marvelous short film.
Thank you! I’m glad you had a good support system to help you. This was filmed in Cheshire, UK in an old church that has been converted as a venue for events now so not visitable by public unfortunately ☺️
Beautiful. And I am not crying!🌈💖😭😍

Beautiful and honest.
Thank you 🙏
This film is stupendous
Thank you!
@: guys your film gave me a lump in my throat. It was touching and poignant in so many ways. Your actors were spot on, your cinematography was lovely and written perfectly. Being gay and older than thirty, with a family that is very catholic, I felt the same in so much that was put on the screen ( Everything but finding a date in church! And if I ever go back, maybe my luck will change) 😂😂😂. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing much more from y’all.
Aww thank you so much for your kind words! ☺️ Not sure if church dates are common but you never know! 😂
This is absolutely achingly beautiful. Thank you.

At 69, this was tough to listen to. Hope is for the young.
I’m sorry to hear that but I believe hope is for everyone ☺️ I hope you’ve find peace ✌️
This movie is very sweet. I've always thought 1st Corinthians was kind of trite but hearing it here really made me rethink that. It fits. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
What happens to them? Make a second part 😊
Beautiful!
Thank you! ☺️
{SPOILER ALERT ahead -- if you haven't watched the entire film already....}.
"I've been praying to meet someone like you." 😱 This has to be one of the most powerful closing lines of dialogue written for any film of any kind. Wow! This is a sentiment known to many of us -- indeed, to hundreds of millions of people over the centuries no doubt, including LGBT people. But it is rarely ever acknowledged in film. Meeting the "right" person is not only a gift; it is often the answer to a prayer. And as such, proof of God's existence more than a mere coincidence.
This is an extraordinary film, proven by having over 14,000 views in less than 2 days posted, and by the almost universal praise here in the Comments. This film is FAR more than entertainment: for some it will be therapy; for some, validation; and for others, Hope. Hence, the perfect title! The ending took my breath away -- not because it was a surprise, but because it referenced the power of prayer. So much more powerful than "Let's go get a cup of coffee "
The writer/director has written a jewel of a script, ably performed by the two actors. Oh how I would like to see it performed LIVE by two actors on a stage! So powerful! In either format, it deserves to win many awards. Thank you. 🤔😳🙂🙏👍❤️
Wow thank you! Very kind of you to say!
Love, love - Queerness + Spirituality are not mutually exclusive. As a Queer spiritual person with a strong bond with God, this was heartwarming. We all have our struggles, and God is there to guide all his children. ❤
Im so glad you liked it ☺️ thank you!
Or alternatively, find hope away from the church and other religious institutions. Find it in humanity, nature and the universe, it's more honest.
Wow 🔥
🙏
A sweet and beautifully-paced film. But, oh, how religion is abused!
Thank you! It’s so true that some people have lost sight of what’s important in religion!
so many of these short, indie films have such rubbish acting that I simply stopped expecting good acting. this one is a wonderful surprise. thanks for all that went into it.
Thank you so much ☺️
What church is this filmed in? Beautiful video 😊
Thank you! This is filmed in St Mary’s in Chester, UK

We're told it's wrong, but is it? The Bible was written from a very specific perspective. We don't know if it's fiction or not. I see it as controlling and about conforming to a very patriarchal point of view on life. He was right to sever ties from his family.
It's a 10 from me.
Thank you!

Intimacy between men
Correct!
Truth.
7.01 "What do you think god would say about the world" "What would he think about gays, bisexuals and more."
My opinion since I'm not a Christian but an hindu female: He or she should rewrite the bible since its written at different times between about 1200 and 165 BC.
Now were living in the 21th century A.D. Isn't it already time to change god's and people's perspective of love, being in love and being loved?
I think that if any religious book from the beginning had written "LOVE AS THOU WILT" there would not be this many hatred, war, jealousy and discontent in the world.
that was absolutely amazing...... but it's so tragic what some people end up going through because of the church ..... of religion ...... and what amazing verses those are in 1 cor and galatians 5...... if only they were the guiding light for all of us .... especially those in the church.
I agree! Thanks for watching!
The two men are suffering deep inside.
Cause the society confused them whether their feeling for other men is good or bad. Too much controversal with humans.
One's can stop practicing something but never changing who you really are by nature.
Thanks for watching ☺️
Lindo!
God does not disapprove of homosexuals, both God and Jesus were as fay as it gets... check genesis and you see God's original plan did not include women!
The film is more about what religion has become, rather than the bible itself ☺️
@@RocketBadgerProductions Thank you for the abundant light, love, and beauty you shared in this film. These actors delivered spectacular performances of your words. I am a queer atheist who finds many points of agreement with concepts included in the Bible, as well as certain ideas found in other religions and spiritual practices. I hope this project was as cathartic for you, as it will be meaningful to so many in the queer community, myself included. Kudos! ☮️💟⚛️

What a brilliant piece of film making. Superb direction, lighting, editing and acting. Excellent script which is true to life. Hope is the right word. An unfolding of love: the heart of Christian faith.
