A huge Thank You to the truly talented ensemble cast/crew (the credits are also a must-see) for this work of art! It provokes memories of youthful indiscretions, tears, laughter, and profound reflection of how we have lived ...and perhaps still live... our lives. As long as we are still here, it is never too late to tell those who have offered their help and their love to us - despite our seeming unwillingness or inability to return those precious gifts - how much they have always meant to us. (I know, because I read that on Instagram!) Every aspect of this thought-provoking gem is Oscar-worthy! And, finally, I find myself once again angry at TH-cam for STILL not including a 🖤emoji alongside the often inadequate Like/Dislike options! Thank you again, RoleCall!❤
This film brings back memories of my sister's battle with leukemia. Surprisingly, during her illness, she exhibited a sense of calmness and happiness, unlike at any other time in her life. Two months before she passed away, she urged me to pursue my immigration plans, which I had put on hold due to her illness. She said it would be more difficult for her to let go if I remained by her side. This decision ultimately resulted in me losing a significant part of myself - my twin sister. This artful drama has successfully forged an emotional connection between the characters and the audience, which is the most important achievement. Well done!
@@CalogeroSmith Death is not the end. Those who have passed on don’t disappear; they transform into pure positive energy, becoming part of the Source Energy or God Source, continuously flowing within and through us.
This movie is a real break from the old tropes of illness in gay cinema. It was refreshing to see something other than HIV or AIDS be the sickness. I was very moved by the plot, the relationship of these friends, and the familiar theme of how friendship can become distant. This was a very good film. I laughed, and I cried. Great job!
Fine cast with a special shout out to the kid who took me through a range of emotions during his few moments on screen. He really embodied an “old soul” as he displayed such wisdom confronting his fate. Nice job to all!
Very good movie the sister at the end told him what for, that got me when she said you were my first friend and I am here because you deserve someone who loves and cares for you whether you like it all not. That got to him he tore up.
I found this to be a very moving movie to watch when I am facing my own mortality and I am very alone. Whoever ever posted this thank you very much it shows that there is still hope somewhere.
Absolutely brilliant. There's much to say that I just can't find words for. So much emotional expression delivered by a limited yet powerful cast. Captured beautifully - you should be extremely proud..
Miles is angry that he is going to die at such a young age and adopts a laissez-faire attitude to hide his deep innermost fear of dying.I think his anger is compounded when he learns his two buddies have hooked up and that together with the cancer gives up on life. He is hurting deeply inside that he wouldn't have what his two best buddies have and just gives up and begins to drink beers and alcohol to forget and to a large extent his imminent death being stage 4 colon cancer which has spread. I must say the acting especially by Miles is portrayed as authentic as can be and tears flowed from my eyes as his sister told him she was his best friend from kids and would not leave him. It is sad he couldn't speak possibly for the last time to his friend and only got a voice message. To me this film was not a dark comedy but a very moving and superb attempt of rekindling lost friendships even for a short weekend.
Pottery Chemical analyses recently confirmed that the earliest alcoholic beverage in the world was a mixed fermented drink of rice, honey, and hawthorn fruit and/or grape. The residues of the beverage, dated ca. 7000-6600 BCE, were recovered from early pottery from Jiahu, a Neolithic village in the Yellow River Valley
Seth Dunlap looks so familiar....I swear i've seen him somewhere before but I have no clue where. Or maybe he just reminds me of some other actor? Dang, now I'm confused. Anyway, great acting.
I enjoyed watching this film, but why it is labeled a dark comedy is beyond me. There was nothing comedy about it. It was sad, especially the way he treated his lovely sister. Also I felt he tried to cause a problem with his friends to split them up. However a well acted film.
Hey!! Thanks for watching! Moments of humor while the lead struggles with cancer and loss of friendship is why we put it in this genre. Are you thinking it’s more of a drama?
It does have all the characteristics of a drama. Moments of humor only break the tone a bit so it's won't turn into a drag but a comedy won't make let alone a dark comedy. @@RoleCallMedia

Honestly, though, I did think of a more recently common scenario: gays in a cabin and in peril. This movie wasn't that, though.
Thanks for watching!
A masterpiece, incredible script and excellent acting by all the cast., truly an award-winning film.

This is fantastic. I just wonder if its being shown anywhere or about distribution plans cause it deserves to be seen

Describing this as a comedy suggests the trades description act should be invoked. That said, it is highly impressive and very well-acted
Thanks!!

Miles From Nowhere is a funny and enjoyable movie, despite the serious subject matter and conflicts.
