This is immensely helpful!! My triglyceride to HDL ratio is 3.6, and from watching your videos I know what to do to lower my cholesterol from 209. Before I started keto, my cholesterol was 165 (although last measured several years ago) and I believe since starting keto I have leaned too heavily on fats, even though they are healthy fats. My new primary care FNP wanted to put me on a statin drug, which I refused since she was not interested at all in talking about my diet or my physical reality. Candidly, I am disillusioned with the sad state of our health care system, and how quickly prescription medicine is prescribed without even considering other options.Thank you Dr. Berg!!

Thank you so much for this video! I asked for a "before" test (186 cholesterol, 39 HDL, 129 LDL, 92 Triglycerides. 112 glucose. BP 110/70, BMI 44.29..Triglycerides / HDL = 2.36) and retested my cholesterol, fasting glucose, etc. after I'd been on a Ketogenic/LCHF diet with intermittent fasting for just over 3 months. (227 cholesterol, 37 HDL, 177 LDL, 68 Triglycerides. 82 glucose. BP 118/82, BMI 40.39...Triglycerides/HDL=1.84) I have currently lost a total of 70 lbs so far now. I feel HEALTHIER every day, I can sleep at night, no longer need medications, and my BMI is 39.0 today (and dropping!) :D I would have been concerned about my new blood panel but the cholesterol myths along with how I feel enabled me to not worry about it. I also recently did your adrenal fatigue pupil test, and I PASSED! ^.^

Huh. I know this vid was made some time ago, but this is the first time I saw this. I was put on statin meds for years, and I was told to continue for the rest of my life. Midway this year, I stopped the atorvastatin and started cutting carbs. Last month, my results came in. HDL at 68, LDL at 112 (noted as "High"), Triglycerides at 29. Hardest was keeping a regular workout regimen, but it was worth it. BTW, I kept my health record from early 2000s, and I did notice that LDL at 120 was considered in the "desirable" range. And now it's 100, just like Dr. Berg says.

My ratio for triglycerides divided by HDL is .77. My Dr wanted to put me on statins because my total cholesterol is 364. My triglycerides are 67 and HDL is 87. I've been on a keto diet for over 3 years and have lost over 100lbs. I said no thanks to the statins. My dr also recommended a low fat diet. If she only knew how much fat and cholesterol I eat in a day, but I eat no sugar.

I have been on keto for 1 year and have lost 80 lbs...my numbers were good the first six months...but this time...my ldl was over 200 and my total cholesterol was 380! my doctor went into fits!

did you compute your Triglyceride HDL ratio?? It does not matter how high your cholesterol as long as you have good Triglyceride/ HDL ratio...Even if your LDL is high, it does not mean it is bad because there are good particle LDL and bad particle LDL... if your Triglyceride/ HDL ratio is normal then chances are, your LDL are good particle LDL...

I see you haven’t posted in a long time. But thank you this was so so informative. I’m 21, small build female, with a long history of health problems. 2 weeks ago I found out I have high cholesterol (6) and I was put on medication and just told to continue going on with my life. I eat quite healthy, I’m active, and I’ve never been a big meat eater so it was such a shock to my family and I. I’d like to thank you for this video it’s really put things into perspective. I’ll have to take my health into my own hands and educate myself.

Doctors are showing their true colors. I witnessed 1st hand when my lab results (normal) with same numbers were now high & Surprise! Doctor recommended medication. I refuse until I've done thorough study with naturopaths & professionals like Dr. Berg. Medication just creates more health issues. We're on our own - but we do have Dr. Berg!

Thanks, Doc for these eye-opening truths. I just have my lab results and soon I got a call from the nurse saying that I'm high on LDL. I just calculated
    HDL - 41
    LDL - 148
    VLDL - 14
    Total Cholesterol - 203
    Triglycerides - 72
As you said the ratio to Triglycerides/HDL ~ 72/41=1.75
    Hope I'm good.

There's a great book called the cholesterol myth that outlines how flawed the studies were back the the day and influenced by drug companies. I was put on statins at the age of 17 despite very low triglycerides and high HDL. I am a thin active person with no risk factors. Its a shame i didn't know better.

I'm 32, I weigh 245 lbs, 6 feet 1 inch tall, love heavy strength training at least 2 times a week, I eat between 3 and 4 eggs a day, I wear a 38 in pants, today my blood work revealed 176 total cholesterol, 38 hdl, 120 ldl, 95 triglycerides, 150 glucose nonfasting, and all of this doing exactly the opposite of my doctor recomendation, he wanted to put me on statins, metformin I declined them all and I'm glad I did, I cut out drastically sugars from drinks and started eating more eggs and it worked, the print they gave me today with my numbers recommended 100 as desirable for ldl but now I see thanks to this video that my 120 is well according to the older 130, they just lowered it to put more people on statins, and again my hdl of 38 might seem low compared to the 40 recommended but my triglycerides being 95 the ratio is 2.5, pretty damn close to the 2 suggested by Dr Berg
