Society was so cruel to him when he was going through cancer. Something so difficult, personal and trying. Just to have the world belittling him for his weight, not being in the public eye and not sharing his private struggles. I’m glad he is better
That’s the Hollywood “elite” for ya. When they want to protect one of their own, they rally around, painting pretty pictures…unless they don’t, and they didn’t with Val Kilmer. That’s sad. The world is so cruel.

Agree....they can't understand how difficult it is when your given a devastating cancer diagnosis. Even more so if your a prominent actor like Val Kilmer..Hollywood is merciless until it happens to them or a loved one. I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in May of 2011 and given on months to live. I went thru the treatments and went into remission in November 2011 and I have never looked back...It brought me to Christ as well in 2014. I am eternally 🙏 🙌✝️ grateful!

Throat cancer is the worst. Affects your ability to talk, eat, and even breathe. Especially for an actor that's just devastating. Very sorry he had to go through that.
My dad went through the same thing in 2000. He never adjusted to losing his voice and became a recluse. Glad to see Val living his life and enjoying his work again.
@@smc130 same with my dad. He had throat cancer, lost his vocal chords, had trachetomy, but he went insane and died after 3 years.
My granddaughter was diagnosed with throat cancer at the young age of 8 yrs old she is 15 doing great but the 2 things she loved doing most in her young life was singing and swimming she had a beautiful voice she won the talent show at her school only a few weeks before she lost her beautiful voice do the surgery she had to have

My impression of Val off screen is a good dude. He looked out for my sister for many years. She was in LA alone and he found her at the Apple store and stole her away.. She was his assistant for a good long while.. she never said one bad thing about him to me. And Im glad he was there to look out for her and not take advantage of a young girl like that.

Val Kilmer is the reason I love Tombstone so much. His one liners, and his portrayal of Doc Holliday - just superb. And it's pitiful, almost unbelievable, that the Academy didn't nominate him for best supporting actor. In my heart, he won it. Also, really happy Tom Cruise wouldn't do Top Gun Maverick without Val as Iceman. :)
Integrating his actual life onto the screen in Top Gun 2 was a good move. Tombstone is a given, I agree.

I saw top gun Maverick yesterday. And seeing Val Kilmer as he is now whether you like him or not makes you sad. His part in the movie was small but extremely significant in what I thought was a great movie.
Yep, I think the way that Top Gun Maverick had him in such a key role in the story really showed that the hearts of the people who made that film were in the right place.
I just saw the movie myself, seeing Val in it, and knowing his struggle. I got a bit teary eyed watching that scene. Loved the movie BTW. So glad they included him in it.
I saw the new Top Gun yesterday as well. I thought that it was a great movie.
I especially liked how they incorporated him fighting his throat cancer in the movie and that he was getting treatment still while filming the movie,he is so awesome

They do not like him because he is a Christian Scientist; that means he rejects all medical treatment and tells others to as well. He got treatment for hist throat cancer because his children who are not Christian scientists begged him to.
Val kilmer has always been an awesome actor.he is handsome also.I am very sorry that he had throat cancer and lost his voice.he sure has been through a lot.I saw his documentary val on prime video several times.he is so down to earth caring and funny.very talented also..he lost his younger brother Wesley in 1977 in a tragic accident in a pool.very sad.I love how his 2 children are very close with their dad.it is hard to hear about the unfair rotten negativity that he has been subjected to.I wish him and his family all the best and lots of happiness..

Actually it was his children that recommended he go seek the standard toxic treatment of chemotherapy and radiation. They didn't know any better. But in this day and age I can't believe people aren't aware of Gershon or Chris Beats Cancer, therapies that don't poison and burn but address the cause and change the lifestyle. Not many survive chemo. They either die, are either permanently scarred, or it keeps coming back after spreading to the marrow, bones or liver. I feel sorry for him.

Since watching the documentary Val, I have deep respect and admiration for Val Kilmer, him being so honest with such private things. He was brilliant with his Citizen Twain character. Val Kilmer having such wonderful supportive children seems like a lovely rewarding achievement above all.

I loved Val Kilmer. His acting was always so real. He made you feel like you were there experiencing the role he was playing. So he was a little hard to work with, actors like him don't come along very often. I was so sorry to hear about his cancer. I am glad that he is healing, even if it takes some time. His autobiography was so eye opening. I don't think I can name just one film of his that I didn't like. Every one is so different from another. The mark of a true craftsman.

Val playing Jim Morrison of the Doors was a masterpiece .The Doors band members said he was indistinguishable from Jim and it was eerie .

What I don't get is that Val is obviously so intelligent, yet he runs straight to toxic pharma for cancer treatment with no cures, only "remission." It either kills you or leaves you permanently scarred. David Bowie was another and millions more killed by treatment.
Did not one of his friends suggest to him Gershon or Chris Beats Cancer therapies that address the cause, change the lifestyle and don't make the cancer worse???

So... he made enemies for having high standards? No one bothered to mention why people hated working with him or whether it was for valid reasons or not. If his refusal to compromise his standards was taken as him challenging the authority of his superiors, then maybe it's the control obsessed superiors that were the difficult ones? This just leaves me with more questions than I had before it.

A director is in charge for a reason. I'm sure every actor on set thinks they know better and would like to do everything their own way. When the director allows that you end up with chaos. If he wants everything his own way do what Tom Cruis did, create your own projects and be a part of every decision. Don't just come on set demanding everyone else dances to your tune including the other actors.
What makes you think he knew better than all the other people working on the project? If so where his his directorial breakthroughs?
You work with people every day, doing everyday jobs, there are hundreds of people on set, many are paid peanuts.
Most actors or actresses don't act like dicks, but the ones who do, will get singled out. Most people on set don't get paid enough for that shit.

Val Kilmer looks pretty good for someone who went through one of the most brutal cancers..He's 62 so he is not going to age backwards (plastic surgery) like a lot of actors...Very sad he had to go through cancer without a partner but i'm sure his kids were there along side him..That's the cruel thing about Hollywood..They love you when you are on top but gain an inch of weight and they humiliate you..Val paid his dues and is one of the best actors to come out of Hollywood..Thank you for your contribution to the movie industry..Playing Jim Morrison was one of your best roles...♥️

He nailed Holiday. Every time I watch that movie, I see yet, another nuance, and believe me, I already know most of the dialogue. While everyone else were superb, it was his film. Sad for him that he had to go through his battle with cancer pretty much alone. To his critics: just enjoy his movies, you can't possibly know what demons he has encountered.

His suffering is terrible, but I imagine it's even harder on him because of the public eye being on him and discecting his public image. That had to create tremendous personal turmoil for him. I hadn't followed him too closely,, I don't follow any celebrity really, but I did notice his disappearance in recent years. I can only wish him well and pray for the best for him and his children.

I loved him in Tombstone and the Doors. It sucks that he had cancer, and terrific that he beat it, everyone isn’t so lucky. As far as the media dragging him, that’s what the media does. 🤷🏻♀️
Unfortunately I don't call just being alive "beating" cancer. He has a permanent hole in his throat, can't ever use his voice again, and has said that the cancer treatment was the cause of his suffering, not the cancer. He also said his throat is permanently dry. I think it'd be a horrific way to live.

As a Christian Scientist, Kilmer also is not afraid to die, as he believes in a joyous afterlife. Those suffering are the VICTIM in the situation, not those who might be left behind.
People so afraid of death think you only live once. We're not put here to suffer but learn and move on.
Val has everything he could ever need. The love and support of his children who see him for who he is.

I am a survivor of stage4 throat cancer treatment is indescribable. Thank God I’m alive and i can still talk however, 5 years out its still difficult to swallow and depending on the day i wont eat in public. Its really a humbling experience and will bring the most egotistical individual down to earth. 🙏

Sadly, there is no such thing as "complete remission" after you've had chemotherapy and radiation. It spreads the cancer cells and burns your insides. Even oncologists say they would never recommend chemo to a loved one, yet they do it to patients all the time. I can't believe not one single person he knew suggested Gershon or Chris Beats Cancer therapies to him that actually address the cause, change the lifestyle and heal instead of poison and burn.
He most certainly has had plastic surgery, as it's quite obvious. I feel bad about his laryngeal cancer...it's a tough one to go through, but he's alive!

Yes but don’t you think that blowing off a shot at a hamburger commercial because he didn’t believe in burgers is totally stupid not to mention a poor decision in his occupational progress. I’m sure there is one person out there great full to him for that.

Too talk about The Actor Val Killer, he has always been A Astronomically Talented Actor! Plus his Film or Stage presence is so in Measurable, being that He puts so Much of His Soul, Heart, & Himself, into all that He did throughout His Life & His Career.
The portion You spoke of His Ex Wife, was very coincidental as I think 🤔 I'd heard that Happened? But yet I was never for certain. The film they did Together "WILLOW" is a favorite of Mine. His Ex-Wife exceptionally Gorgeous, & Very Talented as well.
IT is very Tragic, what has come of this Man's Life. But it isn't over Yet?
For even though He has had Illness, Troubles, Heartache, n Heartbreak.
By the Sounds of His Actions n Kid's, plus His willingness to Forge A Head this Man is not Finished with Life.

Tbh after watching his documentary…how dare they!! It pisses me off how he was treated!! He is one of the greats and he should still be in movies ect. Is this how you guys do it in Hollywood? Just let your friends go down like that huh? Speaks volumes about who THEY are!

I see nothing tragic about Val Kilmer's life. We all have had tragic things happen in our lives, parents die, siblings eventually die, friends die. But this video makes it sound like Val Kilmer's life was one big tragedy after another. I respectfully disagree. As long as he's alive, it's still good for him.
Sadly there's not much quality of life after getting several rounds of chemotherapy in addition to radiation. He survived the poison and burning, but it's only in remission. I feel sorry for him that he didn't seek other treatment that heals by addressing the cause and changing the lifestyle, diet, toxicity etc.
I agree and the ‘feel sorry for me’ video was just squeezing the bucks out further and worked as planned because it added more fans who probably didn’t think he was all that good before. You are spot on with “ we all have tragic things happen in our lives” and many, many more people have a whole lot more. So all those bleeding hearts who struggle daily to make ends meet he’s got tons of money.
Love Val Kilmer. So many great movies. I watch Tombstone often for one reason, Val acting as Holiday. Cult following level.

Nice video of his life and history of what he has done and where he is going, he still has that spark and wish him best in his life moving forward, if he can also wish him luck in a new relationship that also is good with his kids, as they are part of his life forever.

I can't speak on behalf of anyone else, but as a 55 year old man, your gift on the big screen is greatly appreciated by this fan. The Doors and Heat are 2 of my all-time favorite flicks....I wish you nothing but good health moving forward! Val Kilmer is one of my favorite all-time actors and that really bugs me that that he had to quit acting because of his cancer. I think they oughta make some roles for actors who have got disabilities now. He will always be one of my favorites. If I was asked who I wanted meet it would be him

I'm glad that Val kilmer was able to defeat cancer but it did a number on him unfortunately it was such a downer seeing that Val was talking with a microphone in his throat just like jack klugman was doing in his final years, tombstone was one of the best westerns ever and Val kilmer was the best doc Holliday ever and thunderheart was a great movie and was a true story
