If I find it, I'll post it - someone taking the trouble to post just keeps me digging :-) John we lost a decade ago - his music should be shared for those who want to hear it, and see it. It's, to me, importsnt that people should. L'Chiem - to life !!!
You are not: Two days ago a young man who went on an excursion in the Judean desert who Fell from a 200 meter cliff was buried.. When the rescue team found his body, the root of a flower called the Chatsav (a flower that blooms only in Israel and only after the long, hot and rainless summer) was tangled in his back pack . The chatsav )(חצב) is called that because the Hebrew word for stone-boring is lachatzov - it is a flower that literally bores it's roots into solid stone.
hi windsong1962, i don't know if you know this? but washo18 has put the song "you say the battle is over" on youtube, one of the songs you were looking for, just thought i would say, take care.
John Denver's versions *are* nice; I've been a fan since "Rhymes..." But give credit where credit where credit's due: Those stunning lyrics are by Joe Henry, & that achingly lovely waltz is by John Barlow Jarvis. It's on his sadly out-of-print '88 CD, "Whatever Works" - find it if you can. At Amazon & iTunes, sample this Jarvis waltz: "Fathers and Sons" (words: Gary Nicholson), from 1993's "Balancing Act." I'm merely a big fan of this composer/performer; check out his site: johnbarlowjarvis
It's not one of my personal favourites, cAtKitty - just a nice song. I wish I had 'Amazon'.........or 'And you Say that the battle is Over'..........or 'I want to live', in a format for TH-cam. Maybe Autograph even : 'THIS is my autograph, here in the songs that I sing, here in my laugh and my cry, here in the love that I bring' RIP John
I agree. The difference is that he is doing a solo with a background singer in this clip, whereas he was doing a duet with Olivia Newton-John when they sang the song. They were great friends, too, and I always thought it was too bad they didn't become a couple. JD picked the wrong Aussie to marry, unfortunately!
thank you for the post, a truely beautiful song, one that only john could write, god bless his loving soul, missed by so many
Happy Mother's day! I love this song...thank you for posting it, and I thank JD for shining.
He is in my heart always!
I like JD's piano shirt too. Very old school

what show or concert was this clip from?
is that Olivia singing with John
No, this woman is singing background vocals, John can be found here on TH-cam singing with Denver, but as a duet
the girl who is doing the background vocal does a great job, but she's not Olivia
