Great review! Probably the best Bible layout in existence.
As for the page-curling issue, that has been fixed as far as I can tell in more recent printings. Now all 3 binding choices of the ESV Clarion have the 2016 text and the newer 28-gsm paper, which is better than the paper in the original printings.

It's a beauty, isn't it. I had a goat-skinned copy but gave it to a friend. Now I have a calf-skinned one. I like it even more. The brown calf skin feels so nice and not too soft. it opens well and rests firmly in the hand.

Man, and I thought I was the only one.... I too have the Clarion calfskin (ESV & NASB) and its great, flexible but not flimsy like goatskin. And it has a nice texture also (not to mention cheaper than goatskin too).
Anyway, my introduction to goatskin bibles was from watching and reading too many reviews about goatskin bible covers. I mean I joyfully drank all the rave... blah, blah, blah.
So, I spent the extra money and after making the purchase I found that I absolutely HATED the goatskin because it was too weak and flimsy. It felt great to touch, sure, but that was pretty much it. And yes, like you, I also got rid of my goatskin bible.
I was also omce interesting in securing a heirloom copy of the ESV Legacy, but it's only offered in goatskin and I'm definitely not making that mistake again.

In my experience the page curling is the result of static electricity. Moisture may affect it. Mine stopped curling after a while of use. As for line matching I have heard that it is not always perfect and with mine it gets a little off in certain spots in the OT.

Hello Matthew, If you had to choose between the KJV, NKJV or the ESV, which one would you choose and why? And which layout do you thinks better, the two column format or the single paragraph format?
    Thanks.

Each of your questions come down to personal preference. Ultimately, what are you going to pick up and read on the daily?
Personally, I prefer the NKJV to the KJV due to the updated language. I also love the ESV and the NASB so I have all of those at home.
I got the Clarion in NIV despite it not being among my favourite translations. Now, why would I do that? Well, I'm glad you asked.
My local Church uses the NIV as do most churches near me. And while I have no problem following along with any of the above translations, when I'm asked to read (which happens frequently) others can struggle sometimes.
So I got my premium Bible which I wanted, but to bless others with. And that's what I use as my everyday carry.
Whatever decision you make, may the Lord's hand be upon it and may you be blessed as you bring others to Him, putting the Lord and His kingdom first in your life!

Is the print larger than a PSQ?

Yes. The PSQ is 8.5 and the clarion is 8.75

The only version that can beat R.L. Allan I think.

I think it's probably a great bible, but I really don't like bibles to have all of their references on the outside margin. There's no room for me to take notes!
