I’m so glad I came across this. I bought these poles (actually the rest of the poles on the website) for my O scale layout. Haven’t opened them yet but will soon enough. They do look great and I love the thread that makes them look realistic. They look wonderful on your layout! Btw I also have that county hotel from menards. Nice to see it in the back up and running. Keep up the great work.
This might be good, but it's always best to make these yourself, because this way you have a choice of what type of pole you want, how many insulators, the distance etc.
Excellent point Mark, But I'm afraid I'm not much of a wood craftsman. My expertise is more on the electronic side of things. So a product like this is ideal for me. Although it doesn't hurt to give it a try.
sheesh that diorama town is incredible. these poles look perfect on it too. how tall are they?. I am looking for some for a 1/100 scale Gundam Dio I'm working on.
Thank you! they stand around 8.5 inches tall, but keep in mind this is for an O Scale layout - roughly 1/48 scale. They do make HO size which would be around 1/90 ish and that might work for your Gundam Dio.
Hi Matt. I see I'm late with this one because you're well on your way to 1000 subs. I know you didn't add the second set of poles but I was curious how you would "daisy chain" a second set. Is this information provided in the instructions?
Hi Luvindemtrains! I'm almost there. They do give you enough slack in the spool with extra left over if you wanted to string out all eight together. You would just glue the ends to the cross beams where a wire would normally go through the insulators. Mine are spaced out about 22 inches from each other which is around the recommendation. I do plan on using two from my other four pack to replace the Lionel ones in the middle of my town.
Thank you JR, appreciate you listening and watching. So it really depends on how careful you are with things like this. Since this was my first time with these I took my time. You do have to glue each string on each pole so in this case I had 4 poles, and 8 lines going through each one for a total of 24 glueing spots. I subtracted 8 since the first pole was already glued down from the factory. That was the most time consuming part.
I would say yes, but keep in mind they might appear a bit shorter on that scale.. I have some 1/38 cars on the layout and they tend blend fine with my 1/48 scale items. Thank you for watching friend!
Great video. Did a great job at explaining. I think I would put a pair of shoes on the pole
Congrats on 500 Subscribers. Woodland Scenics products have outstanding detail. Nice Layout. Mark

Where did you get the cta elevated rail station nice
This was done by www.bridgeboss.com. I'm not sure if he is still making items, but check out that website. Thank you for watching!
Looks cool. Can you wire it so it really conducts electricity? Now that would be awesome.
Yea burn the house down!!
Great video! Looks like an awesome product!
Thanks Matt, these look nice and fit on any model O scale railroad and they are easy to install.
I listen to your podcast and it’s nice to have a face to a voice. Good review! Does it really take hours to install these utility poles?

Looks really good
Thanks MSlick!
would these work on a 1/35 scale Diorama?

THANKS!!!
Why do you need to go over the packaging and instructions....come on, get on with it
