This was the exact level of analysis and treatment. this game deserved. It was such a stellar classic back when Nintendo's quality seal was to a much higher standard. The fact that this title is 20 years old and still this enjoyable and look this gorgeous only speaks to the insane powerhouse of developers back in the early 2000s working on GameCube titles!

Luigi's Mansion will always have a special place in my heart because it was my very 1st GameCube game and it started my love of the GameCube. Plus the game is FANTASTIC
Luigi’s Mansion is such a spectacular game, and easily one of the quintessential GameCube experiences (especially at launch)! Even replaying it entirely for this review, I had a hard time putting the controller down. Thanks for checking out the review man!

So I never played the GameCube version but my wife randomly bought me Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon on the 3DS a few years back. I actually really enjoyed it a lot! It was simple but fun. The mini bosses and main boss battles looks fun and it's good to hear that they are challenging but fair. Wow, $44 Million for an E rank home?! Sounds like the housing market right now with all this inflation. I think your score reflects the game pretty well, it's a must-own for me and I'd love to see them do more with this franchise.
Highly recommend playing this version of Luigi's Mansion, as it still holds up so well! Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon was a great sequel for sure! That's awesome your wife got you that! Yeah, $44 Million for an E rank home is reflective of our current housing market for sure lol. I also recommend Luigi's Mansion 3 on the Switch! Thanks again for checking out the review, TC!

Agreed with the ghosts running into other rooms it’s infuriating and they continued that with 3 and that stupid ghost cat, that ruined it for me. The game boy horror is such a nice touch, and agreed this game still looks beautiful. Great video and great review my friend
Yeah, the ghosts going between rooms got tedious towards the end for sure. And yes, I despised that dumb ghost cat in Luigi’s Mansion 3! I remember doing that the first time and thinking, “wow, that was awful. There better not be anymore sequences like that.” Boy, was I wrong…

Nice one. I never thought of the term 'survival horror lite', for this series, I just simply saw it as a contrast to the main Mario games, in which these games didn't really have platforming. I really need to get or play this game again. I played it for a bit with a friend, and even rented it - only for it to not even start [and give off a somewhat scary noise when doing so]. I enjoyed the third game so much, but a revisit with this game is prob overdue for me.

I will never forget when I first got this game, I played it all night and when I finished the game. The sun was coming up irl and in the game. I’m pretty sure that’s why the campaign is so short. I love this game for its charm, ambience and the fun gameplay!

Great video! Yeah, Luigi's Mansion is one of my favorite games out there. I would play it over and over when I was younger, and I still return to it ever now and then. It's the perfect length to play through in a weekend or a few days! All 3 games in the series are great, but this first one still has an atmosphere and playstyle that hasn't been topped in my opinion.
I agree with your little gripe about the late-game Boos though. Chasing them in and out of hallways, from one room to the next, gets pretty tedious. I guess that's why you technically don't need to catch 'em all in order to beat the game, but the reward if you do is worth it!
It really is an excellent game that’s held up so well 20 years later! And I agree, it’s definitely the perfect length for a weekend. I’ve grown tired of super lengthy games that add so much filler, that I much prefer a trimmed down, memorable experience that grips me from start to finish. Those Boos at the end though…definitely tedious work lol. Glad you enjoyed the review!
This game is awesome even though I’m not a fan of Horror games. I sadly sold my copy because of condition and I’m still looking for a Black Label copy. Still one of the best GameCube games 20 years later. Great Review as always.

Looks like a fun game! This was an awesome review to watch since I did play the second and the third games and never had a chance to play this first game. The graphics looks really really good for it’s time especially on the “GameCube Horror” which I thought was a super creative idea for this game which to me looked super cool. Awesome review once again and after watching this I hope to get around to play this game some day as I am a big fan of this series!

They only started my favourite console ever with the best sub series of the most iconic video game mascots. Every game in the series is slightly flawed in some way, yet Nintendo magic at its finest. If 3 was in 3ds 3d on Switch OLED format... No game would ever beat how visually pleasing the result would be.
Luigi’s Mansion really was a fantastic and unique way to kick off the GameCube. I’m so glad this series got to see 2 sequels over the course of the years, and the first game was appreciated more after people looked past the “it’s not a traditional Mario launch title” aspect. Such a great game! A good one for hardcore horror fans and for family friendly style video game players. This series is one of those series that did the “Leash” style mechanic right. The graphics def hold up til this day! You’re right the pacing is perfect for this game. The bosses are really creative for the time. My issues with the game was the currency. Instead have having money effect end game I though they missed out on using it for in game things. Maybe more power ups or upgrades for the Poltergust. Awesome review man! You hit all the points right on the head!
That’s a good point about the currency! It would’ve been cool (or more incentivizing) to get items and upgrades from it. I love the game’s pacing! It’s perfect in my opinion and just the right length. I also agree that all the bosses were very creative! Glad you enjoyed the review man!
I’ve never beaten Luigi’s mansion myself, but I have played it so many times. I did watch my brother beat it though so I think I got the experience

Most underrated launch title ever IMO. It actually is a survival horror in a way...some parts actually spooked me too 🤣 great review I haven't played it in ages
Agreed 100%. I feel like back in the day, people would give it a hard time for not being a “traditional Mario launch title”. I always viewed it as an introduction to survival horror, but for all audiences. Glad you enjoyed the review man!

Just imagine if grabbed by the ghoolies came out on gamecube as it was planned. Was going to be one mean pack with luigis mansion .Still , played it on xbox though.
