    I bought this used and it won’t let me register. Anything I can do?

      It's been a while, but I do believe you need to contact the previous owner and have then remove it from their account before you can register it. You may be able to call Horizon/Spektrum to see if there are other options available now. www.Rc-Help.com

      The DX9 is a fantastic Tx. Even with all the new Tx's that have come out since I got this one, I have not had the urge to upgrade at all. Not even for the touch screen versions, even though that would be nice lol. www.Rc-Help.com

    FYI: They make a SD card to USB adapter for about $10. So you can download to your desktop and write the formate file to the SD card. Just search Amazon for the adapter.

    Can we take the SD card out of the transmitter after it is updated?

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can, absolutely. Just make sure it is done transferring the files. I never leave the SD card in my Tx. www.Rc-Help.com

      Before you decide to remove the SD card from your transmitter. I would take it out and format it in your computer to FAT or FAT32 and then, if you have quite a few models saved in your transmitter, I would export them to the SD card, and then remove it and keep it in a safe place. If you should ever suffer a malfunction that loses you your models and their various settings, you can easily import them back into your transmitter from the SD card !! Easy!!

      Backing up your files is always an awesome idea. I save my files on my computer that way my SD card is always free. But those cars are so cheap that you could easily just store them on it and file it away. Thanks for the tip! www.Rc-Help.com

      Anthony Bamford thx for the suggestion. So all I have to do is export my models onto my SD card? And if I do won’t it take the models out of the transmitter?

    SD card reader stopped working in my DX9 1 year after I bought it so I can no longer upgrade firmware.

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? I have not had an issue with the reader. I know I had major issues with the SD Card that came with the radio, it's flat junk. I'm sure you have tried, but want to mention it anyway, try another known good card if you are still using the stock one and see if that helps. I have seen some replacement parts on eBay here and there, but it's pretty rare. And they unfortunately make you send the Tx in for any repair which is not ideal. www.Rc-Help.com

    If there is more than one update, can I just skip to the newest or do I have to update in succession?

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the time you can just skip to the newest. Sometimes however, there are updates that require previous updates. I'm not aware of any updates like this for the DX9, but I have always updated my firmware when the update came out.

    I bought a new transmitter dx9 and i need to update it. Thats just stupid. I paid for something to update it.

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are made in batches and when they are made, they are up to date. But with anything these days, updates are always rolling out. It's pretty easy to update the Tx, just be sure to use a good SD card and not the one that came with it.

      @@RcHelpDotCom Will i wipe out my models or just firmware update?

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's always good to backup all models to your computer before doing a backup. I have never had a bad one, but I have heard of some. Mainly when the battery dies in the middle of the update. Better safe than sorry.

    if your computer does not have a SD card slot, you can buy a multi-slot card reader (SD, micro-SD etc) that will connect to your USB port .. bob's your uncle !

    YES, throw that SD card that comes with the DX9 AWAY. It is a POS. I had to send my transmitter back to Horizon to get it reset because it would not load the upgrade. Lost all my setups for all 15 planes.
