If you’re experienced with cars and especially electrical ls swap wouldn’t be that bad, if you’re not you better prepare to have your car out of service for at least a month, or have deep pockets to have a trusted shop do it

From my research the HP rating isn't what kills the stock bottom end its the max torque hitting at low rpm. If the car is tuned for high rpm power then you can get the numbers pretty high up there. So turbos work better than superchargers due to the tuning of the power to come in at high rpm. When you think about it, torque is all that really matters. HP is great for a dyno sheet but torque matters on the street
Absolutely.. All cars.. Usually its bad tuning kills anything. Too much boost low rpm bends rods. Ask me how i know lol... Now have 60k mile motor and always make sure have functioning wastegate lol...

Nice Z man thing is mint! I got a g37 ipl 6mt Malbec black on red looking to put a gonzevo top mount on it by next year. Best gaskets I’ve used is concept Z ultra thick gaskets and zspeed copper multi layer gasket and throw some high temp gasket maker on it and it should almost be bullet proof
Always think about selling my Nismo 350 and taking the profits to buy a low mile 08’ San Marino. BUT these prices aren’t helping for buyers haha, definitely a selling market. Been with you since them early days, happy for you Homie!
If you plan to forged it , don't wait till bown up! Blow up can destroy completely the engine and piston particles some time destroy turbos too, or a rod gone completely the engine for scrap! Reduce boost and when you re ready move on! You already have invest a lot of money in expensive parts...

Oh yeah definitely. 7-10psi is safe and would make around 450-480whp. I’m surprised mine even lasted 2 years with how much I pushed this car every day. My motor was also pretty healthy with 60k miles when I boosted it all the way to like 84k miles I believe. Thank you man 🙏🏼

Your Z sounds very different from typical VQ owners, ik turbos actually make a big difference within sound in Z’s and almost a change completely, but do you think I can still run the Motordyne exhaust setup with a titanium y-pipe, without running a turbo to try to match the pitch tone on your Z?

Psi doesnt mean squat what size turbo?? And dont think im being rude. I just mean everyone saying 17psi is too much for stock block. But psi is irrelevant, cfm tells you a lot more. A small turbo at 20psi might make 450cfm and a big turbo at 10psi also run 450cfm. My fbo all stock internal inline 5 cyl runs 24psi and has for 2 years. Still has even compression across all cyl. But i run water meth, 100oct (no e85 around), and have big downpipe and exhaust to help back pressure from stock manifold and small exhaust housing. That with wmi keeps egt low even at 39*.
Thank you man. And yeah the AEM X Series gauges fit perfect but you just have to find a way to mount them. Mine are duct taped and 3M taped on there from the back 😂 you’ll never see the duct tape tho and they’re on there good haha. There’s a video from like almost 2 years ago of how I installed them called “ A full day in the Z and finally taking it home with me”
Most of the parts in the video / link I sent you didn’t really change, just the wheels and switched to a dual pump setup. I think that might’ve been it but I could be wrong. Thanks for the support bro 🙏🏼

We’re most of the parts (I guess including the turbo kit) installed yourself? Asking because I’m just trying to understand if most work done to boosted cars like these is better to be taken to a shop, especially if it’s like a first project car
It was put together at my friends shop since I did not have a garage or anywhere to work on it at the time. Installing the turbo kit is pretty simple. What will be a little more challenging is wiring up the gauges and installing the fuel system.
Wheels are 18x10.5+15 all around. Rear tires are 275/45’s Fronts are 285/35. It’s a super aggressive setup. It rubs a bit in the front and rear and my front fenders are naturally pulled a little from airing out. 275/35’s up front would be good
That sensor better be bad 17s on e85 😨.. Hope i was seeing that wrong. Ur bottom end wont your concern. Youll detonate some pistons.. Or burn a valve..
