This is definitely a good writer and looks and feels great. The nib i believe is a Schmidt nib and I have recently discovered how really good they are.
I love the look but Visconti scares me. I purchased a Rembrandt in Florence, Italy on vacation and it was a disappointment. I wish the high end luxury brands were critiqued as hard as the cheap Chinese pens. I shouldn’t have a cap that doesn’t seal and a nib that needs tuning on a new Visconti. It seems to be well known that Visconti is hit or miss on nib quality but they continue to charge a premium for their products. Anyway rant over. I just discovered your channel. Great review.
This pen is the first among many dollars spent on Visconti pens that I am pleased with. I agree the nibs are hit and miss and at that price that should not happen.
I still wonder why people want the Visconti Homosapiens Lava model. I'll go on reddit, and people list that pen as their "grail" pen. I guess people want a very expensive non-functional pen, or pretty paper weight! By the way, my Faber Castell e-motion nib will actually fit into this pen.
It’s a beautiful resin! Makes me want to pick up my vintage Esterbrook J in copper celluloid.
This pen resurrected my interest in Visconti. i will be visiting their store in Florence this summer.

@@fountainpentherapy I agree. I find myself loving Schmidt #6 size broad nibs and Bock #6 size double broad nibs these days.

2:06, To be fair, if a nib lived up to the reputation of Visconti, it would either write like crap or wouldn't write at all.
I have had many problems with Visconti nibs. This is the first one that came out OK
