Not watched this video yet, I've come here to just mention - awesome videos, watched a few already. I'm in the UK and I'm old school - I learnt to paint and decorate the old way and now I'm getting back into it so just watching some videos to get my knowledge back up especially as paint technology has advanced a lot since I was last doing this as a job. Really enjoyed your videos, very informative, to the point and no music over the top. No idea why people add music because if your content is good and you're explaining it properly, music isn't needed. I've now subscribed and about to watch this video.
Just watched the video. I've got a carrier bag literally full of brushes, all different types for different jobs. I've picked them up over the years (mostly recently months) when I've seen them on offer or had staff discount for decent quality and I've also got a large selection for crappy jobs like if I need to apply something that doesn't clean well or if I have the need to mash a brush up. I do like to treat my nice brushes properly and clean them and where needed, I keep a load of white spirit for cleaning them as well as other things like wiping a surface down after sanding. I'm in the UK.
Thanks man! We’ve experimented with music and it seems that less is more. And yeah it’s great to have a lot of brushes to choose from. Thanks for watching!
Hey man! im fairly new to your channel so im not sure if you ever mentioned this, but what are your thoughts on Floetrol to add to the paint to also minumize brush marks
It’s not a bad thing to do if you need to. Generally I prefer using a product that doesn’t need it. Emerald urethane or a decent acrylic like duration or emerald semi-gloss works well for us.
Question: My wife and I just moved into a manufactured home in Florida. The manufacturer stated that we had to use flat paint on the walls because of the type of drywall they used. We think they're maybe not telling us the truth. Your thoughts?
Whaaaaaaaaat????? I have never heard of that. Ok, so I’m assuming that when you move in the drywall has already been primed and painted. But if it hasn’t, and you’re looking at bare drywall then you need to prime it with a drywall primer, then go over it with whatever finish paint you choose. If it’s already been primed and painted then you can paint the walls with whatever sheen you want. Flat paint hides more defects in the drywall but it marks up easily. Here’s what we currently use and also a video explaining paint sheens th-cam.com/video/ceynEKT5loc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vKaZIJfgbvUubksK th-cam.com/video/DyKh80Yt9k0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mbS_y4cDmkguHrEK
Great video as always! Quick question- I’m considering ordering a 2.5 Vegas for a big trim job coming up, where I’ll be using Emerald Urethane. I’ve been using a Corona Excalibur recently that’s advertised as especially good with hybrid and heavy bodied paints, and I’m just wondering if you’ve tried the Excalibur and how you feel it may compare to the Vegas?
So the Excalibur has thicker chinex bristles which is great for thicker products. It’s also a fast brush. The Vegas is all soft bristles so it lays down a smoother finish with the hybrids but it’s also a slower brush. It lays down the product more slowly than the Cortez or the Excalibur. So it’s a trade off between a smoother looking finish and speed.
@ I’m from the Uk it’s from proform industries it’s called a proform contractor absolutely amazing brush I would not have anything else trust me you’ll love it it’s like a Wooster silver tip but bigger and grey bristles cuts like a Gillette blade

So why no video of this big job?
We’re re-titling this video right now. There’s actually quite a bit of footage from that job in the next video about painting in cold weather.
Just subscribed ✌
Thank you sir 🫡

Very interesting, that’s the exact info I was hoping for - thanks very much for such a speedy reply!!Cheers!
Have you ever used a chemical product to strip trim or a cabinet door? If so, a video review would be very appreciated. This video was great, btw.
I have used chemical strippers and it’s an entirely unpleasant process.
And thanks for watching! I’m glad you liked this one 😀
