  • BIG CHANGE! RCB ADJUSTABLE BRAKE LEVER & RADIAL MASTER CYLINDER REVIEW AFTER A YEAR TVS APACHE RTR 200
Its been more than a year the RCB Brake Master cylinder with adjustable lever is doing its duty in my TVS Apache RTR 200. This is an upgrade to the conventional axial master cylinder as the brake force is radially actuated. The lever is adjustable for reach which should help a lot of riders who face difficulty in lever operation.
So how well the RCB brake master cylinder is performing after a year of installation. The motorcycle has done long highway rides where the brake was used under high speeds while the city traffic made it suffer frequent braking which usually increase the brake fluid temperature as well as temperature of the friction parts. Did the master cylinder cause any problem to the rest of braking system like brake lines, caliper, seals, brake pads, disc etc? We will find out in this video...

I've installed and run it for the past 9 months on my RS200.
Wasn't sponsored though, I bought it with my own money and it was worth every penny.
You can find 3 videos on my channel using it during cornering (although only one of the videos is fast riding).
It's a significant upgrade over stock master cylinder.

I bought the 14mm master cylinder since it is the recommended one for motorcycles upto 250cc.
For Pulsar 150, the 14mm master would be perfect.
Note that the braking force will be greater and so, you'll have to be a bit careful not to lock the front wheels if ABS is not available in your motorcycle.
If you're an experienced rider, it shouldn't be an issue at all.

Do you know what is the size of the stock master cylinder bore? The RCB ones come in 12.7, 14 and 17 mm sizes so I'm confused as to which size to get. I want something close to stock but a little smaller to make it easier to pull.

  • @233kosta

Looks like a tiny bit of air left in the hoses. They all do it, and it's almost impossible to get it all out from the bleed screw, BUT...
When you put the bike away in the evening, pump the lever a few times, then squeeze HARD. As in all the way, if you can. Might help to push it all the way out on the adjuster. Then tie it off in that position using a cable tie.
This compresses all the bubbles and forces them away from the walls. They supposedly then make their way to the top and into the reservoir once you cut the cable tie off in the morning (or some days later).
This is by far the cheapest, easiest way to improve brake feel and it works on all systems.
    Then pads.
Then the radial master. That one is a huge improvement.
Then steel brake lines. And radial calipers.
