    I've had the Redmi for about a week and these are the things that made me choose it over the a53:
    1. The capacitive fingerprint sensor is WAY better - more reliable and faster - than the a53 cheap optical sensor and trust me, this is a real deal breaker
    2. The 120W charging with the brick IN the box is super convenient and while it's not great for the battery I usually use a 33W charger from my old Poco F3(which is still faster than what the a53 can do + you have to buy the charger) to preserve the battery and it still does 0-100% in less than an hour
    3. The Redmi is cheaper, comes with the charging brick, has a better processor, and the JBL tuned stereo speakers are pretty loud and clear for such a cheap device

    Is it true the Exynos Galaxy A53 5G's front and rear cameras have better colours and dynamic range compared to the older Snapdragon A52s 5G? Or has the A52s had updates to its cameras now? Which ones would you guys choose in terms of general camera quality & performance and video recording? Would you still go for the Note 11 Pro+ in terms of cameras?

    Thanks for the review, been looking to upgrade and this year phones midrange phones definitely seems to come with way caveats than before. I'm just glad Note 11 still has the classic trio of large screen, IR blaster, headphone jack and microsd card features despite the rather average camera. On a side note, I also need to see if that 120W charger and that custom cable can also work as a 65W USB-PD charger despite it being a Type A port.

    • @SomeOldGamers
      @SomeOldGamers 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @annoyinggasta
      @annoyinggasta 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@SomeOldGamers not everyone's a photo freak, ya know? That ain't the note 11's battleground as you could see on the gaming test.
      The 2 phones are very similar on the other points (charging excluded), so it comes down to what you wanna do with your phone. As someone who doesn't take pictures or videos a lot, the cameras on the note 11 are fine by my standards and are counter-balanced by the perfs anyway, therefore i'll go with that one. But i also know friends for who the camera is the most important and they'd go for the A53 for that.

    A 52s still a great deal. Samsung messed up with the A53 by slapping a chip that most likely won't get the support you'd hope for from developers. I tried the A 53 and it suffered so bad when heavy tasking lags, crashes and you name it. As long as samsung stick to snap dragon chips that's an easy win for samsung for me.

      Your comment has aged poorly. Samsung has already improved performance with updates. I also honestly don't trust a second-tier Chinese company not to give the CCP spies access to my phone. I need my phone to be a secure device and you really wouldn't have that with the Note. As for the A52, you can basically turn Genshin Impact settings up a notch and burn through your battery 50% faster than the A53. So have fun with reduced battery life and knowing you aren't giving a damn about the environment.
      I am glad that, after using inefficient competitor chips for years, Samsung is getting back to making their own chips.

    Cameras are really rubbish on the Redmi for the price. The photos were very blurry. The hm2 sensor has not been good on any phone and uses such a slow shutter speed on every phone it's used on. If you check the file info on photos you'll notice how slow it is resulting in lots of blurry shots with any moving subjects. To be honest both of these not great for the price. I think last year's models are better. You can get snapdragon 888 phones and dimensity 1200 phones for this price now that are better all round phones if you are willing to pick up a model from last year. There has been virtually no progress in smartphones in the last 2 years apart maybe from screens and there are great prices on last year's models so they make more sense. Just pick up a Xiaomi 11t with dimensity 1200 and much better cameras for example or something like that instead of the Redmi and you will have a much better phone for around the same price. @@roboticvenom1935 You say that all the time but is not true. Is basically two Android updates from the one currently on market. My Mi Max 3 had Android 7 when I got it but it went to Android 10. I have a Redmi Note 9 Pro(2020 phone) and is on the list of getting Android 12 update and MIUI 13 although still on Android 11. It had Android 10 when I got it. It is already pass two years so I assume that will be the last major update. My Redmi Note 10 Pro(2021 phone) came with Android 10 as well but now is on Android 12 and is listed for Android 13 update and am certain that update will come much later than 2 years on the phone life. So is not really one year at all. Meanwhile system apps etc get updates still even on MiMax 2 and 3 that are 5 and 4 years old.

    i would go for A53 because of One UI, longer software support (at least 3 Android updates) i used both MIUI and One UI and One UI is much better. Also imo Samsung photo processing is better in terms of dynamic range and night mode, also 4k video recording from front camera which is still not an option even for Xiaomi flagships.

    I used to be an Apple guy until one day I tried editing a word document and couldn't, downloaded the app, wouldn't work, had to connect to iTunes which took two hours to update, then realised I couldn't store anything on my iPhone so I switched to android. Since then I've been buying these high spec Chinese brands and have been thoroughly satisfied with them. Until now. These days I look forward to better software and new android features which the Chinese brands seem to offer extremely late and if you're lucky, you get two updates and 3 years of security patches.
    So with the powerful hardware still working brilliantly, I find myself feeling the need to replace my phone prematurely just to get the newer android versions.
    That's why I'm now switching over to Samsung, 4 years of major android updates and 5 years of security patches.
    I hate that they make you buy a charger separately but I'd rather spend $25 more on a charger and then have something that continually feels fresh with updates for 4 or 5 years than to get a great rush from something like my current realme and then know it's only downhill from there.
