What a fantastic & simple solution Steve. Like me, I cant afford to go down the Hydraulic route but this seems a lot simpler and better than the standard system, thanks mate👏👏👍👍
Evening I had a work mate who used to steward at scooter racing events in the late 60’s. He told me they wouldn’t allow reverse pull drum brakes as they had a tendency to lock up.
I was racing in the 80s and my reverse pull went through scrutineering with no problem . They snatch at slow speed but at high speed there's never enough braking power for me .
This pulley system was available as an accessory for brakes on 80s BMX. Look up ACS "The Doubler". General consensus was a loss of feel and brakes were often described as squishy with it installed but I guess that's a consequence of presumably twice as much lever travel for the same braking power. The benefit must be that you can generate more mechanical advantage when you have a pulley system in the same way a block and tackle pulley system works to lift heavy objects so you can apply more braking force with less finger effort but more overall lever travel required. There's often a suggestion that friction of the additional moving parts negates the benefit to some extent.
Brilliant mechanical advantage , ideally the pulley could be a roller built into the adjuster , allowing more adjustment but just what you have done has more or less doubled braking power , allowing for friction loss in the pulley . Love the skills and engineering. Look forward to your posts . Yes this can assist a disc brake , simple v rig system ,top draw
Maybe it's just me but my issue hasn't ever been with the amount of pull you can get to the brakes, it's locking up and the tyre not adhering to the road on those few occasions when you get caught out and have to slam on the anchors. This same pulley device on my clutch though is a Godsend
It wont work on the original disc has it has to much travel on the lever due to a bad design. Need to develop a new one that's more solid less give . Sorry buddy
How come no one else ever thinks of this stuff ? Bloody genius pal
This was sold in kit form for vespas. No longer available. Re make a kit and I will buy one for my p2.
Hope i had It when i restored that bike. Nice job!

Nice one Steve, works well and very simple!

Those standard drums are dangerous what you have done will make standard drum braked Lambretta's alot safer , Well done Steve.

Nice idea👍
Are you selling this item , also can it be used on original SX200 disc brake , if so how much
Many thanks Stu

Nope dont sell but some company will copy it with in weeks K2 customs most likely....
