This dhun is based on famous Gujarati Bhajan by Narsinh Mehta - "Vaishnav Jan To". This Bhajan was said to be favorite of Mahatma Gandhi and is very popularly sung in India. It is based on Raga Khamaj. This dhun also uses shades of other Ragas close to Khamaj family such as Jhinjhoti, Desh, Tilang and Malhar.
You can find more about Bansuri music on my site, www.bansuriflute.com, where for limited time, you will be able to purchase Bansuri similar to one being played here. - เพลง
Out of this world........way, way out........takes one to the surreal.......soothes the mind & soul like only music like this can.........simply awesome !!....and the Bansuri, truly is the musical instrument of the Gods........nothing else comes even close.
There is a reason Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality plays a flute!
Hare Krishna.
There may not be enough adjectives in my vocabulary to praise this incorporeal serene mastery, awesome!!! it generates such an awe that makes you wonder about whether Heaven can be more soulful than this....?
When I hear the sound of Flute, I feel Lost in a different world....Thanks for posting
The bansuri is possibly the most beautiful instrument on Earth.
Dear bansuriflute
You give me so much peace. I am a scientist working in Vienna Austria and get back to your recitals when I am stuck with some scientific questions..and It works like medicine..Long live your tribe. Long live Indian classical music.
Flute is a metaphor. It has 9 holes (6 for playing, 1 for blowing, 1 to create the sound and one at the bottom). It represents the human body with 9 openings or what the scriptures describe as the city of 9 gates. God blows prana into this body and all we accomplish with our mortal bodies is what the Lord wishes. Considering karma, all we really do is dance to the Lord's tune in our life. So I reckon Flute suites rather aptly to Krishna. There are so many more beautiful metaphors in his stories!
Bansuri music is celestial sound par excellence. The Narsinh Mehta hymn made Gandhiji feel closer to divinity, and your rendition is doing the same for us. Thank you.
I can listen to this melody endlessly. It is a blessing! Thank you :)
great Bansuri, music for the soul .Thanks
FLUTE RECITAL, SPECIALLY ON THIS BHAJAN , IS UNDOUBTEDLY ALWAYS JOYFUL.

Beautiful Flute, an excellent rendering of Raga Mishra Khamaj with an ideallyic lyric of Mr Narsinh Mehta,"Vaishnav Janto Tene Kahiye" by Ms. M.S. Subbulakshmi Iyer of the Karnataka School! It is a treat from all angles!

I have my story 2 share abt flute...I used to watch my friend play it and charm everyone for over 17 -18 years we spend together...then on a trip to Sikkim i found a tourist shop which was selling everything and a FLUTE too. but.just 1.i was told that it was not a good flute and did not find a buyer for years..i tried to ask the cost and the shopkeeper said he would willingly part it for FREE !..finally i bought my first G scale flute for Rs 35..It was later assessed as remarkably PERFECT..

meditational! im getting this for my meditations!
@jredruello - It is improvisation in "Khamas", an Indian raga.
@omarshinken Thankyou and peace be upon you. I have a low D whistle (Chieftain V3), and it sounds verry nice. Also have a Zen-On, Bressan, alt recorder. Its customized by Lee Collins, and i just love that recorder. Its plastic, but its well tuned and has a beautiful voicing. The block surface is with red cedar that makes a softer sound, i think.
MAGNIFIQUE !
Bravo From Greece!

@taazen74 hi there i too play the whistle and irish flute both the shakuhachi and bansuri are very hard to learn and i can understand why you wish to learn them because of the meditative nature of the instruments however have you tried the alto whistles or low whistles in d or g if you get a good quality make like overton there is great potential to make beautiful medative sound
Very nice play so sad sound

This is the real Flute.

wow !
bravo
can i use this as back ground music in a medical camp documentory
its keep mind peace
Hi, forgive me if I am not authorized to reply here. I started learning flute at a very later stage. From my own experience - just play it .. play it. and play it. This is God's own instrument and does not come so easily. Just play it .. with your heart and soul. When your brain will make a sync. between your heart, blowing and your finger the beautiful note is not far away... :) Good luck friend.
amazing flute skills, I also play the bamboo flute - I was wondering if I could have a chat or interview with you to find out more about your skills and background. Thanks!
Beautiful...Im playing whistle and recorder, but now i want to go into meditativ playing. Im struggling to choose between the Japanese "Shakuhachi" and Indian "Bansuri" flute. Maybe i have to try both. What is the originale tone(A,G,D)on the Basuri? What is to prefere in mediativ playing?
@malaga860 dont know the album name but u can ask the man himself on facebook...search for Prasad Bhandarkar....
@rukiahentai313 have u tried ebay? i found some in there
I guess the scale must be E
Can anyone please tell me the scale of this flute?
Lovely piece....... However, I wish the video behind was a scene from India and not a lighthouse somewhere in the States..............
dhanya hain dhanya hain.
thx very nice^^
Please could you be so kind to tell me who can i get this song on mp3 or the name of the album?
thanks a lot

can u please provide some more info on types of bansuri please. i bought a g# and i hate it when i try to immitate and it sounds offtune. i saw no. on flutes in the shop. 1- longest 1.5 lil smaller 2 smaller etc does it have anything to do with tuning too? where can i learn more about types please?
Bautyfull
I have a few questions, how many Rags are there and is that a set number or do people write new rags all the time? And is it the same Rags all over undivided India? Even places like Afghanistan and Nepal? I am thinking Bhutan and places like Sikkim probably have their own.
hi bansuriflute.
im just curious on whether you play the flute and upload the videos of yourself or is this someone you know or is it someone else famous that you just upload the videos of?
THANK YOU
Yeah, it is portable! Haha. You can go everywhere with it -- to the meadows, to the woods. I imagine you can easily walk with it and dance with it. That could be challenging with other instruments.
anyone .. the tune?? in which scale is??
bansuriflute
i dont meen to waste your time but can you please help me
do you know where i can buy the flute that you play in your videos like these i would love to learn how to play this music,
@EbilinforcerDJ God bless you :-0))
@bansuriflute @bansuriflute Should the bansuri in E be made out specific wood? Does it make a real difference or is it just tradition to have it made out of that special wood from India? I currently play 9flutes & the Bansuri is calling me...so I need some guidance I've been to your site but your Bansuris are much to expensive for me...
