Left India almost 50 years ago now, but the music is still in my soul. If you've never been in rural India as the heat of the afternoon finally relents in the gathering stillness of night, you'd never know how mood capturing this is.
Well, you know, I often had the same thoughts while i was there. Yes, its dirty, filthy in places, dusty, stinking , rotten, infested, and I saw some things there I wished i hadn't, but time has a way of mellowing all that, and most of what i remember know is not the shit hole stuff, but the people and places I still know. Its not the sensual things that matter in the end, but what a place burns into your heart. Consider yourself lucky you don't have to live in the 3rd world, because a lot of people I know that do are one hell of a lot better in their own heart and soul than some that don't.
Soothing & Peaceful! Thank you :) My 4 year old daughter heard it and said "oooh Mama, what's that beautiful sound? Can we play it forever??" She loves it as much as I do! Thank YOU!!
I have to thank you for this song from the depths of my Heart. Every time I hear it, I'm reminded of the all-pervading presence of the Absolute. Namaste!
Puriya Kalyan is a sandhi prakash raaga--Raga of gaudhuli vela- means when cows return to their shed at the sun set...this recital is sooo beautiful takes you to the visualization of scenic beauty of sandhya
the constand sound on the backround is Tanpura. its always present in all the indian classical music. it gives a base and support of the Sur to the permorming artist.
beautiful. As the clock struck 2.30 am and my eyes began to droop, an incense stick, a lava lamp and a comfy, familiar room made for the perfect environment in which to appreciate this piece.
relaxing in a small punt-reclining with my arms resting over the sides-floating down a river-somewhere hot and dry-but with a small breeze on my face-all i can hear are the bristle of the tall reed grasses on either side of the riverbank-and in the far distance i can hear the faint noises of children playing-and the call of birds-total bliss
I love Indian music when it is minus the bongo drums and fast tempo. Such as this composition and performance. It is wonderfully consciousness-altering. Thank you.
Perfect music for waiting for the bus! Sitting here on the corner of BFE, after a late night at work, letting the notes drift around me in the gloaming of gathering dark. Go to sleep little Earth.
Herman Hesse describes the true path a western mind must take in order to fulfill both sides of his soul, east and west, rational and irrational, love and the loss of it. We are all searching for ourselves, once we find it, there is only joy :), heaven can wait for it truly is here.
Wondrously beautiful music. The pictures (all of them taken at dusk) really enhance one´s appreciation of this raga. The time-theory of Indian classical music is born of a profound awareness of the effects (subtle or overt) which the various times of the day and night have on the human psyche. And you truly bring that out with this video. Thank you so much for uploading this.
Prasad: Very well played. Perfect sur, raga swaroop and slow and steady development of the raga. The medium tempo composition in Zaptaal is also so pleasing. Enjoyed it thoroughly. No wonder it has been heard more than 650,000.
Thank you Abhijitji. Means a lot. Obviously as a musician, I like to create new music and rarely listen to my own recordings, but this one came out very well and I myself enjoy it.
Sunsets are also beautiful--Dusk "Saanj ke Dulhan" is also a lovely expression. Saanja Chula , Godhuli -etc are all a part of our culture as we appreciate all aspects of nature.....Divine blissful peace as the day slowly concludes at Dusk -thanks TR
So soothing !! Rigorous day ends and finally you find out divine peace.! Bansuri has no alternative - it really finds its way into the heart through ears. God's gift to mankind !!
Occasionally on a good night, with good reception, I can pick up this music coming across the Himalayas from All India Radio and others. Beautiful sounds, many thanks.
This track...I came back to it so many times. Whenever I need some peace of mind this brings me back to where I want to be emotionally. Also helps doing studies :)
And...now.....listen...listen.....the sound.....of the stars......the energy.....the buzzing energy that binds the universe at every level................listen.........there are no enemies in this realm...........there are no differences,....they fade and we all become the ever present bass strings underlying all existence.....
Bring sounds &melody in years to come software playing a biggest role pl let others artist also grow up and coming home for sours of life no doubt it is soothing

So true.....You saw Her...
Yes, I lived in Gujarat, between Vadodra and Ahmedabad.
I did not mean gross watching, but to see the subtle inner beauty..which most can't see..:-)
Actually it was a real gas back then, if you like steam locomotives as I do, a bit frustrating sometimes, yes, but worth it.

Bamboo Flute is the instrument whose sound descends to the soul through our ears.
100% agree, except I'd say that these are purely sounds of ascension

Even keeping my eyes closed listening to Bansuriflute I could make out that it is by Prasad Bhandarkar. Very soothing-it is dusk time in New York.
This flute player is one of the best, not only in this recording, but in others that I have had the pleasure of hearing.
Thank you
