I'm new to 3D printing, and my first purchase was the Raging Heroes Eastern Suns set. I think my samurai and oni-ogre models would look pretty cool with a similar red and gold scheme.
you are right back at it! i am glad you are doing your thing again and i am almost done my goal of 100 imperial guard infantry in your scheme! im at 80 then i will matte varnish and base so not too far to go! then i have some tanks to build!
Regarding the highlighting, it’s always worth remembering that the light on a gaming table is (usually) going to be less bright as the light on your painting desk. What looks exaggerated while painting looks much more subtle on the field of play.
Great to see some love for alternative Middle-Earth miniatures! You're dead right about the dark grey in place of black, I've been using Vallejo German Grey for the same purpose (also I can't tell the difference between 'German Grey' and 'Black Grey'!)
Vallejo's Black Grey has some weird magic formula that makes it cover 110% even if heavily diluted. I started using it to cover the bases rim - in place of the classic solid black - and it's uncanny.
Not much for LOTR gaming, but that dude would make a great henchman/soldier for Frostgrave, especially if you wanted to play a wealthy wizard who liked their henchman flashy. And as always the mini looks great : D
I love the big clear details, and sturdy heroic scaling. Too often with computer modelling you get overly detailed and spindly miniatures which look great up close, but are not optimised for tabletop viewing and handling. edit.. I just checked the file out, and while the scale is good, some of the details are indeed too small and didn't show up in the final print.
I really wonder how those are in comparison to the GW Easterlings, so if one could combine Originals with those. Especially for easterlings, such combinations would be intresting for Black Dragons etc.
Love it! Didn’t know about this Kickstarter and have been real frustrated with Games Workshop’s resin Easterlings. Will be backing these guys for sure. Separately, I gotta say - as a Chindian-American, I love seeing any and all fellow vaguely brown people in fantasy.
I tend to find I get better results off my home printer than most of the resin material available from Citadel, which is saying something. Their plastics are still great, but resin? I'd really rather not! 🤣 It'd be nice if they were the good guys on occasion, too, but I suppose there's plenty of white guys on the side of evil in Lord of the Rings as well!
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Oh me too - GW's resin is... atrocious. And yeah it's a bummer they're 'evil', but deep down, aren't we all, if only just a bit >:-) As an aside, thanks for the tutorial paint scheme too! I've been agonizing over how to paint mine.
Would definitely love to see more LOTR minis. Funny enough, it probably has the best actual gameplay of any GW game
Thank you , Troy .

This is a really interesting sculpt with a great color scheme. Thanks for sharing this. It is always neat to see a tutorial from you.
I'm always a sucker for bright red and gold. Looks smart on the table no matter who's wearing it!
I like the Varangian warriors in this kickstarter also!
Good to see you back! That colour scheme is awesome.Thank you very much. 🙂

Red and gold is always a winner!
Great content as always!😊👌

I have to say I really enjoy when you tackle 3D printed minis. Its nice seeing some of the really great creators get some painting love on their figs.
It's awesome in this day and age to have so many options available to us.
Some Lotr content! Love it!! :)

Really fantastic looking miniature.
Well done on the paint work!
9:08. The more important the paint, the bigger the brush.

Oh man I love Quartermaster's stuff! The Dragoons and MENA conflict were great. Looking forward to printing and painting these ones too
Looks a very good detailed figure and very well painted nice one.
Looks very nice and will look great when when you put him with 20 or 30 of his mates, these videos really have made me re_look at my painting style.

Some of the best stuff going! Black Grey and German Grey are must-haves in any collection.
I like these - very Oriental looking. I'd probably only need about 10 though as I play Solo\Co-op RPGs these days like Heroes of Qalanor.

The elite versions of these guys would make for really cool enforcer types if you wanted the clear heavy-hitters of a warband like that, too!
Another great video!
Awesome mini, they really seems some LOTR "Immortals", now if only we could find a King Leonidas' equivalent....😜

If you plan on doing more 3D printed stuff, I love to see your take on some of ThatEvilOne's minis.

A very late congratulations on reaching 50K subs!
Thank you kindly!
Which printer did you use for this miniature? I know you had an Elegoo Mars 2, i think, but didn't you upgrade a while back? Great content as always!
Still the same one! The Mars 2 Pro.

Has their Kickstarter ended?
It has, yeah. The miniatures will soon be available through MyMiniFactory, so keep an eye out there: www.myminifactory.com/users/Quartermaster3D
"battles in middle earth strategy game", I think >_>
Strabegy Babble Jame or something along those lines. It's all hooplah after a while. 😂
