This duel has some awesome lines from Banner (unfortunately cut from this video) "That is the way of the alchemist: Destruction and Rebirth. But when *you* are destroyed, I assure you there will be no rebirth!" (later) "This is it. All of your training, all of your matches have led up to this, this moment of truth! Now make your move, Jaden... and make me proud."
This is probably the one Kai upload that I think suffers from not having added context. During the second half of the duel, Banner claims that he fixed all of Jaden's duels to get the Academy to trust him with a Spirit Key. Now ignore the fact that if you think about Jaden's season 1 duels for more than 5 seconds, Banner couldn't have possibly been able to rig all of them. This claim made Jaden seriously doubt himself throughout much of the duel, and it served as a test of him by Banner.
Speaking of the said Trap, Jaden made a misplay by not attacking with Bubble Man after Amnael removed Spirit of the Flames. Since Amnael/Banner's is empty, Jaden is free to attack one Alchemy Beast (500 ATK) with Bubble Man to deal 1100 damage since Elemental Absorber is useless. Golden Homonculus' ATK may go up to 4800, but Jaden's not done. Amnael: 4000 -> 2900 Then Jaden does the same play during his Main Phase 2 (Burst Return and Burst Impact). So when the latter is played, Jaden can deal 900 damage to Amnael. Amnael 2900 -> 2000 which is twice that of Jaden's life points.
4:17 so this anime card got me thinking how if they did an complete overhaul of vechiroids card - cause they're beyond awful where support wouldn't help them - I think them working in synergy with the og vanilla heroes could work out. Specially cause you can say it syrus and jaiden bond. Have the vehicles give effects and act like equip cards
I counted it up, and Banner used 30 cards in this duel, and only 12 of them have been released in the TCG/OCG. Those other 18 (with possible retrains of a few of the released ones) are prime candidates for an entire Amnael structure deck. It's a shame that likely won't happen any time soon
I’m a little disappointed that in the GX Speed Duel Box Set entitled Duelist Of Shadows, we got Banner’s/Amnael’s deck in a very weird way because we got some of the main cards that he uses in the anime and the rest are all a bunch of random cards that have their effects about banishing.
What makes this funny is the cards in real life: Helios wouldn't have come back, because for some strange reason when making the cards: Helios Duo and Helios Trice only come back when they are sent to the GRAVEYARD by battle, which stands in total opposite to what Macro Cosmos does.
Honestly, I hope we get an Alchemy Beast deck one day. A whole deck focused around Alchemy, and by extension the periodic table, with the end goal being the Philosopher's Stone is awesome!

Growing up watching n loving the GX arch. I sometimes wish that Professor Banner out of all professors that hardly dueled due to being a secret dark signer. would've at least dueled a few times using some sort of secondary deck through the show.
Banner's deck is pretty good, anime draw luck aside. He can summon multiple monsters per turn, an attack negation trap, and the discarded cards ended up also supporting his ace monsters.
SHENANIGANS: 1.) Macro Cosmos does not negate your opponent's attacks. 2.) Nowhere in the anime effect states that Duo Megistus can attack again while your opponent has a Monster. The replay prior to that is legal though.
For those who need to know Jaden Played Miracle Fusion When Macro Cosmo Was Up Practiclly most of the cards was destroyed by banner was removed from the game but he uses miracle fusion anyways just a thought
Seeing this duel makes me wish jadens base heros had effects and powers of their own. Bubble man can special summon himself and draw, but how cool would it be if avian just had the base ability of feathershot to attack all monsters once each, burstinitrix had the ability to return all hero monsters to the owners hand, clayman when sent from the field to the gy by a card effect could destroy one spell/trap, and sparkman could just change the battle position of one monster on the field per turn. Just give them their signature cards as real monster effects, but i guess then yiu have to change how something like O oversoul works

If banners remaining card wasn’t aqua spirit, when Jaden first attacked with bubbleman, banner would’ve taken 1100 points of damage. He knew that Jaden started with bubbleman while holding aqua spirit in his hand

So why Jaden is OP? Because he learned dueling from Dartz himself! (Banner is a recolored version of Dartz, and his Orichalcos deck is pretty like the Alchemy themed one.)

What I love about this duel is Banner really set this Duel up for a cause to man Jaden up for the next battle to come.
