Hey Chief, this is exactly who your department is. You need police reform and quick. Pepper spraying anyone in handcuffs is not ok, just like a stranglehold. The cop that used the spray needs to be fired. A nine-year-old girl cannot be safely restrained without using pepper spray is Unbelievable.
She had to catch herself when referring to the CHILD as a young lady. 9 yr old black girls are viewed as young ladies in society not children. Why is this? Why are black children viewed as adults and get treated as such , and in this case, not only as an adult, but with apathy and callousness. There was no patience , compassion, empathy or understanding by those officers. They should be fired and lose all their benefits for dehumanizing and humiliating a child. That was excessive for a child (anyone) that was suicidal. What's going on with the crisis teams!? Crisis teams should be used not police officers. This child and anyone having mental health crisis should be seen by a trained community person along with an officer to deescalate the situation and get her the help she needs.
Where was the compassion, the professionalism training and the rational decisions making process, these officers knew what they were doing men and women come on all F" white. treating Black children as very insufficient sad and very not tolerated Go find another type of work this is not your calling
