    Great stuff 👏 I love what GoPro Labs are doing. I use 200mpbs and turned off the noise reduction and that already made a huge difference. I want to use the wide color more but I'm having trouble with color grading that footage in Premiere Pro, I can't seem to get nice vibrant colors afterwards 🤔

      Thank you. Yes that's right! I work with the Qualifier in DaVinci Resolve. Without this tool it would often be difficult to get the maximum "color depth". In my opinion, the maximum result can be achieved in combination with the hdr color wheels.

      How and why do you turn off the noice reduction?

    • @vlightphotography
      @vlightphotography 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@M0LLER75 You need to install the GoPro Labs firmware in order to be able to turn off the noise reduction and it only works for GoPro 11 and 12. The automatic noise reduction leaves you with a really soft image especially on higher ISO, you lose all the details. If you turn it off, you'll get a really noisy image but it's very fine grain, it basically retains the details even on higher ISO. Using noise reduction in post you can achieve much better results. Before this i never went over 400iso...now i can go up to 1600 if necessary and i can still get usable footage. It makes the GoPro more usable in low light situations. Yes it's extra work in post but it's totally worth it.

    Great video, thank you. Are you going to get the GoPro12? Your videos are already amazing on the GoPro 11 and I am guessing the new log profile isnt going to be any different than the GoPro Labs adjustments. The log on the 12 is the main reason why I would want to get it, but I am wondering if I should just save myself $100 and opt for the GoPro 11.

    • @davidsilberhorn
      @davidsilberhorn  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you! I'm honestly a little disappointed with the GoPro 12, as I would have expected either a larger sensor or higher resolution. Actually the GoPro 12 has hardly any improvements compared to the GoPro 11. Also GoPro-Log doesn't interest me, because I can already set a very flat image profile with GoPro Labs, which you also wrote. Also the hdr mode is completely unusable for me. The price difference is 50 dollars. For 50 dollars you already get 2 additional batteries for the GoPro 11. By the way, I think that the dji Action 4 is also not so good, because then I can not set 200 Mbps. The only advantage is the slightly larger sensor. I would recommend to buy the GoPro 11.

    do you have to do this for every single preset or does it apply to all

    • @davidsilberhorn
      @davidsilberhorn  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The GoPro Labs settings are applied to all GoPro presets. If you want to change the settings quickly and easily, I would recommend creating one or more printed GoPro Labs QR codes, which can then be held in front of the camera at any time. By the way, this also works underwater and is very helpful because the touch screen does not work underwater.

    Thanks this is great to know. What about horizon lock shold I have it on or do it in post? And what about GoPro 12 should I use the same settings as GoPro 11?

    • @davidsilberhorn
      @davidsilberhorn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've never used Horizon lock, but I would set the setting in the GoPro to on. I don't have a GoPro 12 and am rather disappointed with what the camera offers compared to the GoPro 11. If I had a GoPro 12, I would probably use the same settings. What you should test, however, is the combination of the new GP-Log profile and the GoPro Labs profile. In principle, it's not a bad thing if the camera has an extremely desaturated profile, but it could be difficult to get a high-contrast and colorful image in the editing program.

    I use hero 11 on fpv drone, and I can't tell the difference between 120mbs nd 200mbs after rendering and uploading video somewhere, only major difference is in file sizes, that's why i switched back to 120 from 200 after few weeks of filming. Also WIDE=1 and locked white balance are important.

    • @davidsilberhorn
      @davidsilberhorn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds interesting, but with my GoPro I almost always see a difference between 120 Mbps and 200 Mbps. Even when I use the camera on a toboggan run, for example, I still see a difference. Maybe that's because I'm upscaling the resolution so my video isn't compressed as much. Yes, Wide=1 is definitely important, provided you want to color grade the footage. Thanks for your comment!

      I will definitely not buy the GoPro 12, because the camera offers virtually no significant improvements compared to the GoPro 11. The cameras are actually completely the same. • @davidsilberhorn
      @davidsilberhorn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The file size of the individual clips is probably too large and can no longer be viewed directly via the GoPro. However, if you move the clips to a PC, you can certainly play them back or at least edit them in a software program. Incidentally, you can set the maximum file size per clip in the GoPro lab settings. This allows the camera to play back all clips directly via the GoPro. I hope this solves the problem?

    Why is 200 Mbit better than 120? 4k streaming services like Netflix only use 20 or less.

    • @davidsilberhorn
      @davidsilberhorn  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You're comparing internet speed to the bitrate needed to record clips! An absolutely ridiculous comparison. 200 Mbps is actually quite low when compared to a Cinema camera for example. The more data you record per second, the more details you can see in the footage. If you were recording at 20, the footage probably wouldn't be usable.

For example, I once used the GoPro 11 for an hour with the same settings as you and everything worked fine.
