Sourdough Discard Cinnamon Rolls | Cast Iron Cooking

  • I am using a 12" cast iron skillet today: amzn.to/3zAWczA
    Rolls:
    1/3 cup sourdough discard
    1 cup buttermilk (OR milk w/ vinegar)
    3/4 tsp salt
    8 TB frozen butter
    1 TB sugar OR honey
    2.5 cups flour
    In the morning add: 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda
    For inside the rolls, brush on 4 TB melted butter, 2 tsp cinnamon, and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
    Bake at 375 for 25 minutes
    For a glaze on top, whisk 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp melted butter and 1 tsp vanilla. Pour on top after rolls are slightly cooled.
