    Nicely done, your maintenance video's are better than a Haynes manual. Thanks.

    Thanks for another great video. A subscriber said it all: You can throw the useless (mostly) Haynes manual away. Much thanks.

    Hi… I’ve just had my spark plugs out on my 2018 triple rs and I had the same corrosion on the spark plug on cylinder 1. The tip of the coil was also corroded, I removed the rubber boot on the coil tip to clean it with a tiny wire brush before replacing. I’ve been having rough idle issues after the bike has warmed up, I am also swapping out the air filter whilst I’m in there. A nice ‘how to’ tutorial… my spark plugs are NGK CR9EIA-9 (stock oem)… cheers 😉👍

      This shows the importance of regular servicing, to keep on top of problems like this.
      Let us know if the rough idle clears up 👍🏍

      @@notamotorbikemechanic hi… my bike is all back together and buttoned up, I’ve just come back from a test drive and it’s a completely different bike !! No rough idle, and really responsive. I’ve had the bike about 3 months but didn’t notice the idle issue until about a week after I bought it, on normal riding you wouldn’t know it had an issue… until I pull up to a junction, then it started to become obvious. I watched your video and had a lightbulb moment… I think the triples have a water egress issue on cylinder 1 around the spark plug & coil, my spark plug top was corroded as well as the coil tip… the other coils and spark plugs were good on cylinders 2&3. I had to reset my service interval because the battery was removed to do the work… but also I had to enable my auto shifter/blipper again from the ‘bike setup’ on the dash screen. And yes… Servicing and regular maintenance is a must. Thanks for the 💡 moment lol 😉👍 cheers ( I’ve subscribed )

    Would you share the Part Number for the plugs you have used? I have searched but the pictures on the box does not match yours and I would like to sure I got the right one. Why did you go with the Iridium plugs? Of course the bike may run better with new plugs after almost 12,000 miles but have you noticed any difference with the Iridiums?

    • @notamotorbikemechanic
      @notamotorbikemechanic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I went with iridium, as you can go longer between changing them.
      I think it’s made it smoother, but if it has its very subtle.

    Do Iridium spark plugs perform better than twin electrod spark plugs which are oem with speed triple ??

    I might have missed it if you said how many miles you had on your old plugs, but how many miles did you think you had on those?

    These are invaluable how to videos.. truly excellent 👏 👌 thank you for sharing!! I wanted to pick your brain.. I have a 2014 Speed Triple R, so a non split air box.. my questions are: How did you get spark plug 1 out.. I mistakenly used a 6" rachet extension and got completely stuck!!!.. I ended up cutting the extension bar to free it, a friend happened to have a swivel jointed extension.. I used that.. but how do you do it as I can't see what you use? Also re-seating the airbox after.. any tips on getting the velocity stacks onto the intakes? Many thanks 😊 all the best 👍 PS New Subscriber 👍

    • @notamotorbikemechanic
      @notamotorbikemechanic  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, I believe I used a swivel extension bar, the thin ones 1/4 inch I think. As for the air box, I can't recall having any trouble reinstalling them.
      Thanks for subscribing, hopefully more videos soon 👍

    Afternoon! another great video, thanks :) One quickie? Does it run ok with the K&N air filter? Doesn't run lean? Thanks :)

    • @simoncarson6327
      @simoncarson6327 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Belay that! just saw your comment on your Video on the K&N air filter! If it's not running lean, then that's the way I'm going! :)

      Hi Simon, sorry for the slow response, some times messages don't show in my notifications.
      I'd say it runs about the same, and the bike hasn't been mapped for it, but has been mapped for the arrow exhausts.

      @@notamotorbikemechanic That's fine, have twin SC's on (Arrow map as 2016 bike, same as yours, rider modes etc), have put an SC low on now, going to carry on with the Arrows high level map, as have been told the Arrow low-boy map is for de-catted exhaust.Going to add a K&N filter :)

      @@simoncarson6327, i didnt notice any difference after the bike was mapped.
      as long as it runs ok im happy.

      @@simoncarson6327 how did you manage to get triumph to map it for the arrows with the SC’s on? Mines has SC’s like yours and I haven’t mapped it. When I asked triumph, two different dealers told me the bike would be fine without mapping. It pops a lot but the bike runs great. What do you think?
