Cover of Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits.
In hindsight i should've used my homemade guitar as i can get a 'Stratier' sound out of it, but this will do i guess. AKG C214 on the amp for a nice clear sound. Looking to get a Royer R101 or 121 soon for this role. SM57 on vocals to minimise feedback (and SM58s don't suit my voice).
Can't remember where I got the backing for this one, but it didn't take long on google! On later versions I've made my own.

I have watched many guitar covers of this song. Thought I saw it all, then you had to go and sing the song as well. Not just that but do an outstanding job of it. I will spend the next three days laying on the floor of my room in a fetal position. You are amazing.

I must say i'm impressed that you can remember all the little licks he does by heart. To tell you the truth i'm trying to make my own version myself with a squier strat i just acquired. I like it that you sing and play at the same time wich makes your attempt at covering this amazing song more genuine and heartfelt. Second solo is not perfect but you're getting there and it's saying a lot considering the genius who wrote that. Congrats and expecting more mark Knopfer covers from you!

You did it, man! You're a sultan of swing already! Mark was probably right about your age when he composed it. Although the piece has some tough riffs, you still managed to bring out the same spirit! Looking at you reminded me somehow of him back those days. Glad to see the legacy is going on!

outstanding im studying this song its been part time now for a year and im still struggling remembering the jigsaw puzzle. this song is a masterpiece. its easier to play the narrow neck of the tele compared to an acoustic but ive played it on a strat too. loved your guitar work thankyou you were great . that other cover that got 3 million views is just handle differently rythym lead but no better in my opinion and your version deserves many more votes

this is terrific !! Could not be better. I`ve seen Mark several times on stage but your rendition is as good as his recent performances of this tune. A first class post ! Don`t mind this 87 "Thumbs downers". They are ignorants and might be jealous about your skills.
They shoud not hide anly longer but show us how they can do better.

I`m a little mad about people always judge on sound and not on accurate playing. I know lots of guitarist with great sound but no guitarplaying skills at all. On my channel I have the same problem about Hank Marvin from the Shadows. But if we all would play and sound like Mark or Hank why would we need them any longer ?

On the other hand ranting about a 1 year comment in wich someone made a very general assumption to cheer the artist up is completely anti social drone behaviour. I feel youre guilty for the same crime aswell. The real heroes read the post, recognised that it's not pointed towards anyone particular and moved along... Thanks to you Im now one of the others like you :(
It's actually very academic and mechanical and many bends are out of tune. I'm not saying it's bad. But I just don't think it's anyhow comparable to knopfler. Just beeing honnest here.
